→ I QUESTION MARK !
Hahaha okay so when this note thread was first started I was like "oh wow Jada has some guts talking to Isabelle" and I KNEW it was going to be an interesting read so, of course, I followed it. I totally expected it to go two ways: either Isabelle would b*tch out Jada or ignore her and Jada would immediately retreat, orrr they would end up having a friendly conversation and be friends. I was most definitely NOT expecting for Jada to suddenly turn uber!b*tch on Isabelle, bahahaha. I mean, Isabelle being a b*tch? Nooot that much of a surprise it's kind-of a surprise when she's being nice to people she'd normally not like BUT not the point. But Jada being a b*tch? Oh my God, SO did not see that coming. Although it's for good reason since she was jumping to her friend's defense and being the loyal puffer we all know her to be, but yeah still a surprise lol. I mean, Jada's just so...so...Puffer-like and nice and sweet to everyone - and she even started off being extremely nice to Isabelle! - and then BAM suddenly she's getting on Isabelle's case. Bahahaha, loveloveloved it! It was a great read over all, and I just looove these characters so they definitely deserve it! Yay Kels and Kabs!!
- - - I guess it's not really surprising that Isabelle Laurentine knows how to make enemies, but I certainly didn't expect Jada Khan to be on the other end of a spat. Jada is the girl who insists that there's good in Regulus, yet she lost her patience with Isabelle and turned on her in a snap. I mean, the note starts off pleasantly enough. Two Hufflepuff girls who share a bestie, making awkward and nice conversation, though you can see they're both putting in a lot of effort to relate to each other. They try to find common ground in a mutual best friend, Rose, but it quickly goes sour when Jada makes it clear to Isabelle that she does not consider herself to be "naive". The great part is that this little catfight was totally unexpected. Because well... it's Jada. She's so nice to everyone and so moral, so I mean, you'd kinda think she'd solve any disagreement with Isabelle in a calm and peaceful way, you know? Not so. Jada totally showed Isabelle (and us) that she's definitely got a pair of girlballs and she can definitely be badass. And Isabelle was so wonderfully in-character as well, totally not letting Jada push her around out of surprise. She clawed back, and it made for a fantastic read. Kabs and Kel totally owned it.
- - - So, I’m halfway certain that this singular note thread between Isabelle Laurentine and Jada Khan was the subject of site-wide conversation. Like, seriously. This was probably the first time we’ve ever seen Jada Khan bitchy, no? Hopefully for us, it’s the first of many times, because oh man, she’s fantastic. And we must not be forgetting Isabelle either, as she is half the reason this note was as good as it was! Isabelle’s raw, often harsh and guarded responses coupled with Jada’s subtly provocative statements provided this note with a sort of heavy dramatic tension felt not only by the two girls but also shared by their readers. It’s interesting to watch a mostly expired friendship attempt to be rekindled by an eager participant and an apathetic one––especially from both a psychological and character-developmental standpoint. So many great, unforgettable lines were delivered as well, such as: Life's a bitch, sweetie, haven't you heard? Or oh right, that's me. My bad.’ Haha, brilliance, Kabs. And: ‘Rose may think she doesn't deserve better, but I know I do.’ Ah, gosh, like... so many good lines. It’s really clear that both Kabs and Kels put their all into this and their chemistry is awe-inspiring. Seeing Kels explore new levels to Jada’s personality was fresh and exciting, and seeing Kabs throw Isabelle for a few loops response-wise to Jada’s, well, bitchiness, was also extremely cool. It’s always interesting to throw two characters together and see what happens––especially with those who have (apparently extreme) unexplored chemistry that literally jumps out at you from the screen. Normally, when you see two ex-friends dealing with some issues, there’s some vulnerability, some angst, some quick quips... but with Isabelle and Jada? We saw sparks. So congrats, Kabs and Kels! You two are amazing; keep up the fab work. (:
