Hidden in the Forbidden Forest behind Hagrid's Hut, the Thestral Clearing is one of those places most students shy away from, if they even know it exists. The strange yet elegant creatures often scare off anyone who knows why they're visible in the first place, though the brave of heart seldom grace these gentle animals with their presence. Surrounded by trees, it's a small circular patch of worn earth just inside the forest, where the Thestrals normally raise their young.
