About the Character- -
Name: Lilura Licia Liridon Age: 14 Gender: Female Year: 4th Face Claim: Elisabeth Harnois
Canon or Original? Canon
Facial Properties: Lilura has an expressive heart-shaped face that displays her emotions easily. Underneath thin eyebrows, her large, pale green eyes are often wide with curiosity. She has a sharp, thin nose, courtesy of her mother’s side of the family. Below that, Lil has a nicely proportioned mouth with a full lower lip and a tongue that sticks out when she’s concentrating. When she smiles, which is quite often, some rather adorable dimples appear on her cheeks. Probably her most distinctive feature is the mass of long, curly blonde hair that trails down her back. She usually leaves it down, only tying it up when she needs it out of the way to work on something.
Physique: Lil has a petite frame, standing at 5’2” and weighing 110 pounds. Puberty has given her the same slender form as her mother, although it failed to do the same with her height. Lil’s height is a bit of a sore spot with her, as she’s shorter than most of her friends, and she gets teased occasionally about being so small. Some of her taller friends have a habit of patting her on the head, which she only tolerates out of affection. Lil is convinced that she still has a bit more growing to do, and she hopes to eventually reach at least average height.
Wand Type: Hawthorn, 10”, swishy and flexible, unicorn tail hair Wand Expertise: Good for Charms and Transfiguration Patronus: Bottlenose Dolphin Boggart: Xenophilius Lovegood telling her he could never love her
Personality: Lil is an extremely curious person. She has a great love of learning and is always trying to gain more knowledge. If there’s something she doesn’t know, she’s not afraid to find out for herself. She doesn’t shy away from hands-on experiences, although she enjoys book-learning as well. At school, she constantly asks her professors questions about how spells and magical objects might be improved. In fact, she has even been told to stop asking questions in order for the lesson to move along. However, her teachers appreciate her willingness to learn, and she tends to gain a good number of points for her House. With her intelligence and perseverance, Lil achieves high marks in nearly all her classes.
Lil loves to experiment. She has a quick mind, and as soon as she learns anything, she starts looking for ways to improve on it. She has already created several new spells, potions, and magical objects, and she’s always trying to create more. She likes finding new ways to do things because she believes in progress and innovation, concepts taught to her at an early age by her inventor father.
Creativity is also a big part of Lil’s life. Having been brought up in a household that promoted and nourished creative pursuits, Lil approaches everything she does with imagination and originality. Her creations can be counted on to have fun colors or whimsical names. With the encouragement of her artist mother, Lil has taken on photography as a hobby. She enjoys snapping pictures of her friends and whatever strikes her fancy.
Unfailingly cheerful, Lil is a veritable ball of sunshine. She has a bouncy, friendly demeanor and an infectious smile. She enjoys laughing and having fun with her friends. She also loves to do things just for the fun of it, even if those activities seem pointless to other people. Failure doesn’t bother Lil, because if something doesn’t work out, she just picks herself up and tries again. With her happy, positive personality, Lil makes friends easily. She is very loyal and caring toward her friends, and she doesn’t hesitate to stand up for them if they are insulted or bullied.
Secretly (or not so secretly), Lil is a romantic. Currently, she spends a lot of time with her best friend Xenophilius Lovegood, for whom she’s had feelings since her third year. She’s had a crush or two on other boys, but her strongest feelings are for Xeno (or Phil, as she calls him). His “weird” ideas never fail to excite her, and she adores his ability to look at the world differently from everyone else. The two get along like peas in a pod, sharing ideas and exploring them together. Xeno has even taken to calling her his wife, but Lil would rather be his girlfriend, because maybe then they’d actually go on dates or kiss or something. She hasn’t told him that she likes him yet because she’s afraid of being rejected. She also secretly wishes he’d make the first move, because that’s the traditional way to start a relationship. When it comes to romance, Lil wants it all—the flowers, the candy, the surprises, the candlelight dinners… all the cliché romantic things she’s ever heard of. Her father’s always doing little romantic things for her mother, and Lil wishes she could have someone who would do things like that for her.

History: Laelius Liridon was a young wizard inventor out of ideas. After putting a lot of work into setting up his new shop in Diagon Alley, he had run out of steam, and he’d only been able to make ordinary, run-of-the-mill magical knickknacks to sell. One day, on his lunch break, he decided to take a trip into Muggle London for a change of scenery, hoping to find some inspiration. There, he wandered into an art gallery featuring the work of several local artists. Taking his time, he meandered along, viewing each artist’s work in turn. Finally, he stopped in front of one of the paintings that interested him, where some of the gallery’s patrons were talking to the artist, a beautiful young woman named Violet Vale. While others said things like “The colors clearly express the loneliness of the subject,” and “The juxtaposition of these two elements reflects an element of sadness,” Laelius asked simply, “It’s about love, isn’t it?” Intrigued by the one interpretation of her work that no one else had given or, more accurately, that no one else had understood, Violet immediately took an interest in Laelius. She invited him out for coffee later that evening, and Laelius returned to Diagon Alley with a spring in his step. Later, when the two met at the coffee shop, they spent a wonderful evening talking, even though neither of them had a particular love of coffee.
Laelius and Violet’s courtship was quick—a whirlwind romance, some might say. Within a year, Laelius had proposed to Violet, and within the next year, they were married and had moved into a small cottage in the countryside just outside of London. Although they frequently spent time alone, Laelius inventing in his workroom and Violet painting in her studio, anyone who saw them together would not have questioned that they were still madly in love with each other. They did things like leave presents for each other in unexpected places and dance around the house together without any music playing. Two years into their marriage, the Liridons welcomed a baby girl into their wonderful, colorful lives. The baby was named Lilura, with the middle name Licia, after Laelius’s mother.
Called Leece (short for Licia) by her father, sweetheart by her mother, and Lil by everyone else, little Lilura grew up in a loving home. She was a curious little girl, always asking her parents questions and trying to explore beyond her boundaries. Smart as a whip and cute as a button, Lil was absolutely adored by her parents, who would show her off to anyone who’d listen. As a child, she spent a lot of time in her father’s workroom, watching him think of ideas and test his inventions. Other days, she would go into her mother’s studio to watch her mother’s creativity express itself on canvas. Young Lilura was clearly the product of her parents’ union, as she liked to take apart her toys and modify them and paint them interesting colors afterward. At five years of age, she displayed her first signs of magic by making one of her toys shoot sparks.
When Lil turned eleven years old, she received her letter from Hogwarts, the school her father had attended as a boy. Although her mother was worried about her safety, her father managed to convince her that a proper magical education would be good for Lil, and she’d be able to expand her horizons there. Violet relented, and Lil arrived at Hogwarts, eager to learn magic and excited to meet new people and see amazing things. She made a number of new friends right off the bat, but one of the most interesting people she met was undoubtedly Xenophilius Lovegood. Xeno had intriguing ideas concerning just about everything, it seemed, and Lil immediately took a shine to him. Before long, they became best friends. Now, Lil has developed romantic feelings toward Xeno, but he remains frustratingly oblivious to them.
Sample Post:
Trying to listen to Professor Binns had clearly been a mistake. Today Lucius had actually attempted to pay attention to the ghostly professor, but the dull droning voice was putting him to sleep. He wasn’t the only one—half of his classmates were already dozing, and the other half weren’t far behind. Lucius had almost started to nod off when the bell rang, signaling the end of class. With an almost audible sigh of relief, Lucius stood up from his chair and picked up his bookbag. He walked quickly out of the classroom, intending to head for the library. Although the Slytherin common room’s furnishings were vastly more comfortable than those found in the library, Lucius’s appearances there had been scarce recently. Seeing either Narcissa or Sid Darley was not high on the list of things he wanted to do right now. He hadn’t decided what to do about the situation yet, but he’d be damned if he let Narcissa have the satisfaction of rubbing her relationship in his face. Early on, he’d tried to convince himself that he didn’t care about her romantic interactions, but by now he had to admit (but only to himself) that her dating did bother him on some level.
He was just about to round the corner when something suddenly collided with him. His gray eyes widened involuntarily at the impact, but his body remained upright. Whatever it was didn’t have enough force to knock him over, but it did stop him in his tracks. As he took a moment to steady himself, the sound of several books thudding onto the ground reached his ears. He cast an appraising, if surprised, look at the person sprawled on the floor in front of him. A girl, apparently—a girl who turned out to be Andromeda Black, the not-so-black sheep of the illustrious Black family. “Well, well, if it isn’t our resident turncoat,” he said softly, but loud enough for her to hear. He’d read—everyone had read—about Andromeda’s recent change of allegiance in the tabloid that had been circulating Hogwarts recently. When he’d first read it, he hadn’t been sure whether to trust the accuracy of the information present in the tabloid, but as soon as he saw the quote from Narcissa in the article, he knew it had to be based upon truth. He’d been surprised to say the least, and he knew there had to be more to the story than Danni Valo had written, but with his current estrangement from Narcissa, he was no longer privy to personal information about the Black family’s affairs. He did not know Andromeda’s motivation for finally choosing their side after all this time, as his own personal contact with her was limited. He’d spent the last five and a half years ignoring her, for the most part. Ever since her unexpected Sorting into a House other than Slytherin and the beginning of her associations with Muggle-borns, Lucius had chosen to distance himself from her. He had not wanted to taint his reputation among the pureblood families by maintaining a connection with the disgraced Black sister.
What in Merlin’s name was that girl doing?
Andromeda had picked herself up off the ground, but she was just standing there, staring at him like a frightened rabbit. She hadn’t even bothered to straighten her robes. His eyes narrowed as he took in her disheveled appearance. He hadn’t spent a significant amount of time with her for years, but he was still able to recognize that her behavior was rather odd. She wasn’t doing anything, not even gathering her fallen belongings, and she looked as if she’d been crying. He remembered she’d cried easily as a child, and apparently she still did; her face was wet with tears that hadn’t yet dried. She seemed to be waiting for some sort of response from him. Puzzled and slightly irritated, he glanced from her to the books that were still on the floor. Frowning, he removed his wand from robes and said, “Accio schoolbooks.” The books flew upward and landed neatly in the crook of his elbow. He held them out for one long moment before rolling his eyes and drawling slowly, “I do have things to do that don’t involve holding your books, you know.”
