Thanks everyone. As far as injuries go I'm mostly bruised in various places. I had a finger dislocate and then pop itself back into place so my left hand is all swollen up. My car... Well, I think Rodney is dead. But my cat and I are fine (he was in the car with me) and no one else was involved. Bambi got away.

But. More bad news.

My parents are making me move back in with them.

And I have no way of getting home to my apartment until they decide to let me. So...

So between packing and moving idk how much time I have for ISS. And then I have to get a full-time job. And then when I'm not doing that, I'm to help them renovate their house. The only real time I have for myself is after ten and by then I'm too exhausted to think. Oh and. Ha. They want me to stop writing. It wastes time. It makes me too negative because I can't think of anything so I get frustrated. It never leads to a steady job. Oh and I "can't be very good at it anyway since I didn't get into the creative writing program at my school".

I'm gonna try to be as active as possible. I'm sorry about all of this.

didi, don't listen to your parents. what they're saying to you right now is like psychologically the worst possible thing to be telling you, and it is not true. like, i don't know how much i have to tell you how amazing a writer you are. i can't emphasize enough how crazy talented you are. and you know what? creative writing programs at school are a sham. it's all about style, and if they don't like your style, it doesn't matter how good you are or not, they're gunna be assholes and not accept you. trust me, i know how it is. but you're better for it. because you don't fit into that stupid mold. you're your own writer, and i know that every single one of us on ISS can testify to your talent. just... wow. i can't even tell you how damaging and horrible and toxic what your parents told you is. i'm sure you already know. but also know that it is an unequivocal lie. don't listen to them, didi. honestly, don't. please. -hugs- they're just acting out of their fear and grief at having you in an accident, and it's got more to say about how they deal with trauma than it does you. but yeah, didi, i'm honored to write with you here on ISS, and you just tell your mom and dad that you're an adult and you can make your own decisions and not every single hobby in life has to make you money.

i'm glad you're okay, though. i'm sorry you hit a deer. D: that always stinks. but thankfully the deer was okay too. -hugs- and your kitteh. feel better soon, okay? and we're all, always here for you.

Baby girl, let me tell you something.

You parents gave birth to you. They raised you, made sure you had everything you needed, and were probably the kind of parents who brought you to all your practices and were there for all your events. You should definitely never forget that they gave you life, and despite what you may think right now about them, you should know that the decisions they make are because they just want what's best for you and they love you.


However.


That does not mean you have to listen to a goddamn word they say.


And you shouldn't, because, seriously, Didi? You're one of the best writers I have ever come across.

I had the exact same thing happen to me a little while ago, I think you might remember? And Bird gave me one of the best pieces of advice I've heard in a long time. He told me ISS is my life, and I know that. And that I shouldn't let them take it away from me. So now, I'm passing that along to you. It may not be your life, I know everyone has a different stage of attachment to this site, but I do know you love it, because otherwise you wouldn't be so active and helpful and wonderful at what you do. But never, ever, ever forget that you were brought here for a reason, whatever that reason may be, and you're here because you're amazing at this, and you love it, and it makes you happy.

I have something for you.

Listen to this whenever you feel sad, or lost, or any emotion that keeps you from living your life.


It helped me in my recent dark times, and I think it can help you too.

Because every word of it is you. You're absolutely amazing, you helped me so much since you've been here, and I love garlic bread even more because of you.

So, thank you, Didi, and just know that whatever happens to you, or what you have to do, or where you have to go, ISS will always be your home, and we'll be waiting with open arms and cyber muffins until you come back to us.
