The only reason Bellatrix felt the need to tell her all this was because...well what was the reason exactly? Perhaps it was because she strongely had the need to defend her hero, the person she was already far into admiring and looking up to as a role model. How twisted was that. Another reason, she was a slytherin and she had to have been sorted into this house for a reason. There were the occasional duds, but Alecto seemed a bit promising. A lastely, whenever given the chance to speak about horrible muggles and mudbloods, Trix would take up the offer like a fish after bait. She wanted people to know what the facts were and why she was that way. Most people just never bothered to ask the reasons, so she never bothered to tell them. Naive little Gryffindors and the like just assumed that Trix was insanely evil, and she was born to hate muggles. They didn't even bother to clear the cobwebs in that miniscule little head of theirs, and think about the obvious points behind it. Bellatrix narrowed her eyes, wondering why Alecto seemed to have no natural instincts or reactions at all. She just sat there like a mute, not saying anything or having any form of expression on her face.
Which should be one of fear, or since she was after all a slytherin, at least one of being uncomfortable. Didn't this girl have any kind of screen or sense of well-being? It's like she didn't have an instincts for natural survivial - she didn't know when to get scared and when to get happy, it just sort of happened. After standing up straight, she shook her mane of hair and pushed it behind her ears, the long hair was starting to shield her eyes from sight. The other girl was still in the chair, and Bellatrix gave her a look of curiousity. It wasn't pleasant no, she hardly ever had a pleasant look about her, but it was a much more mild form than usual. Something thumped downstairs and her eyes shot to the stairs. She heard a few muffled sounds, somebody swore and the light that had turned on went back off. Slytherins. "Had you really no idea, that you questioned my intelligence? We Blacks are much smarter than to do something without a reason" She announced, clearly a little miffed. Still, in the end the girl saw her point, so the rest could be overlooked this time. It came apparent that she had been testing her, though why anyone would want to test Bellatrix she didn't even have an idea herself.
"Smart girl. Muggles aren't something worth standing up for." And as soon as smart had left her lips, she wanted to take it back. Because for a moment, she wasn't even sure what Alecto was doing. Her wand shot out from underneath her nightgown, but it stayed clenched tightly within her fist instead of in front of the girl's face. What was she doing? She was hugging her! The sad truth of it all, was Bellatrix hadn't been hugged since she was eight. Not by her parents, sisters, friends, anything. Rodolphus didn't even hug her. Of course they kissed, but he didn't hug her. Bellatrix went stiff and her arms held tightly to her side for a moment. This was a priceless moment, she had a look of sheer surprise and shock spread across her face. The moment was soon over as she regained her senses and pulled the girl back. "What the bloody hell are you doing?" It wasn't common for her to swear. "G-get back.." She pulled away and dusted off her clothes like something vile was on them, and she stared at the other girl. This time she was uncomfortable.

Alecto shrugged as Bellatrix asked about questioning her intelligence. The Blacks weren't the type to be messed with. In fact, Alecto had a long lecture on how to deal with them. She was told to flirt with the boys and be best friends with the girls. Like hell she would do that. She didn't do this and as a result, it was Amycus who did. And again with the surname thing. What was it with these damned purebloods and their last names? It was like that defined them or something. Annoying. Simply annoying. Why couldn't they make an identity for themselves? It would make life so much more pleasant and colorful. Slytherins weren't colorful and this was a shame.
Bellatrix's response to the hug wasn't as horrible as Alecto thought it would be. She was expecting wand at her throat and an unforgivable being used on her. Unforgivable spells were not allowed at school, but one couldn't doubt what the Blacks would do. She was expecting to be stunned, dragged off to the forbidden forest, and have her intestines pulled out. This was a much better response. This was typical Alecto, doing something to make someone else uncomfortable. She needed to stop this habit of hers now.
"Eh, sorry. Y'know everyone says Slytherins need more hugs. I think it would make us a hell of a lot more nicer." Nice. Like nice and Slytherin went together. Maybe this Dark Lord person was nice. And maybe cows would fly. All these things she had heard about him was not nice at all. She had to really bring it when she did meet him, which she hoped wouldn't be a long ways away.

It should be obvious, especially to slytherins and unworthy purebloods, who Bellatrix regarded the Carrows as, how to behave around a Black. Things you should and shouldn't say, when to voice your opinions (which was never if yours didn't agree with theirs), how to react, and so forth. In fact, it wouldn't be ridiculous in her mind if they held lessons for it. It was of the upmost importance that you knew the correct behavior in an elite society. Bellatrix had learned, why couldn't they? Was the rest of the wizarding world so crude and dumb that they couldn't even comprehend the correct procedures? Trix furrowed her brow at the thought of this kind of thing, stewing over it only led to more confusion and annoyance. Both of which were already in plentiful supply.
Hugs were entirely innapropriate. To a hug a child was a way to say it's ok, you did something incredibly stupid or you're upset over a tiny little thing. They're practically telling them it's ok to be a sissy and show weakness. This was completely untrue, you had to be strong if you were to accomplish anything and be respected by others. She stood a great deal away from the other girl as if to ensure that this blasphemous habit didn't suddenly happen again. And this time, she had her wand at the ready underneath her robes, once she'd regained composure. She didn't want anyone thinking that it was in any way ok to hug Bellatrix Black. At all, ever. Her parents included. Which wouldn't be a problem, considering that they much rather drop dead than do such a thing.
"I don't care what everyone says. Which, when you say it, must me whiny Gryffindors. Why would we want to be nice? We're civil enough, we can hold pleasant conversations and express ideas and opinons. That's all that is needed. Nice is another word for pathetic. In fact, they ought to consider putting it in as the definition for the new dictionaries this year. It would be much more correct than what they have now. Or perhaps just under pathetic they should place Gryffindor. That would clear things up nicely." Trix placed her hands on her hips, staring across the room at the other girl. "Let's get one thing straight, there are to be no more hugs. Do you understand?" All of a sudden she felt as though she was talking to a two-year-old.

And of course there came the reply Alecto had been anticipating. Well, she wasn't expecting no stern-talking-to. In fact, Alecto had been anticipating a very long lecture on why hugs were a big no-no. That's what she got, except it didn't last about an hour. Maybe that's why members of her house were so cold, they lacked the ability to...hug? To Alecto, Bellatrix appeared rough and tough. Not one to show emotion except hatred or something similar. She was not one to be messed with. So what was wrong with Alecto that she wasn't scared of her? Probably that they had practically grown up together, but never really spoke. They both received the same type of "training." Same old, same old.
Alecto never got any types of hug in her life time. Like Bellatrix had said, nice was another word for pathetic. Hugs were nice, hence hugs were pathetic. Alecto loved hugs, giving and recieving them. Maybe she should go around hugging everyone in Slytherin house. That ought to cheer some people up. Or, others may react just as Bellatrix did. Not a good idea at all.
Alecto shrugged while stretching and letting out a yawn. "Yea. 'm kay. No more hugs, ever. Got it." As if. She was going to argue this but, this was Bellatrix, so she deserved some sort of respect. Normally Alecto would have hugged her to death, but what was the point? Besides death, nothing really. "Well. I think we should get to bed. It'll be hard to get up in the morning."

It was suprisingly and completely out-of-character that Trix didn't give the girl some kind of a death threat to the girl for her serious lack in judgement. Lack in judgement, as in out of her mind. Why she thought that it was at all ok to even touch her she would never know. You had to get permission for that sort of thing, you didn't do things unexpected around Bellatrix that would leave her surprised or angry. You just didn't. She had the urge to slap her or something, but as always she kept that in her thoughts, and away from her actions. Bellatrix was never physically violent. Oh yes, she would hex someone or say something coniving, but she didn't hit or slap, or anything of the kind. It wasn't proper.
"You had better. I don't usually give out warnings when people pester me, and I'm not keen on doing it again." Bellatrix snapped lightly, if it was at all possible to be light about that sort of thing. In other words, she was less hostile about it. However the warning still came loud and clear, no matter how she went about doing it. Don't bother her. Bellatrix stared up at the clock, it was very late into the night, and she had some society business to take care of tomorrow evening. She supposed any other snide remarks or pointless conversation with Carrow could indeed be saved for another day. Or never. Whenever.
"You go ahead and do that." Bellatrix really didn't care what she thought. Alecto would certainly need some sleep, if she were to do when in school the next morning. Trix did what she wanted when she wanted. Except now. Now she wanted to sleep, but she knew that it was too late, and she'd never fall asleep. So instead, she curled up once again on the rug and stared at the fire, looking nearly hyponotized it as she didn't break her eye contact, even to speak. Curling her legs up underneath her delicately, she let her hands rest in her lap. "Sweet dreams Carrow." Her lip curled as she gave a smug, twisted smile.

Warnings eh? A death threat maybe? Alecto didn't care, she had practically been raised on death threats and such. Still, to recieve one from Bellatrix Black, she heard, was a horrible thing. Lucky for her she would not find out today. Maybe Bellatrix was holding back? Could she possibly be as horrible as people made her out to be? Growing up, Alecto had noticed a sort of menacing edge to Bellatrix and tried to stay clear of her. It was just intuition, and she was glad now that she had listened to this sixth sense of sorts. If she kept pushing her luck, she might end up dead one day.
Alecto stretched her arms, finally feeling a bit tired. Maybe she could just use that damned heating charm. She shouldn't have to, but who was she going to argue with now? This little rant with Bellatrix had been fun, but enough of this. She would simply have to go down to Slughorn's office the next day and complain. If worst came to worst, she would complain to the Headmaster....maybe.
"Goodnight Bellatrix," Alecto muttered while jumping off the chair she was seated in and headed back to the dorm. Was Bellatrix going to just sleep here? Why? Didn't she know people could come down here and harrass her? The fact that this was Bellatrix and that she probably knew all this didn't cross Alecto's mind. Nonetheless, when she reached her dorm, she fell face-first into bed and fell asleep.
