I figure after Ravenna and Ludo get some good posts in, others can come if they want =]
Sparkling angel I believe; {You were my savior in my time of need}
Her eyes were like liquid fire, pulsing between a sultry green and an intense blue. Her mind couldn’t decide which color was suiting her mood better - giddy and excited or calm and classy. Of course, the darting of her eyes usually gave way that she wasn’t the most collected individual at the moment. There she was, like a Greek statuette on the pillars of conviction. Her sparkling green dress glinted of the falling snowflakes that made their way to the Hogwarts castle. The beads and silk gave the distinct impression her family was wealthy, and after her father’s death - even more so for Ravenna. But never did she gloat in her gifts, she usually, despite the Slytherin stereotype; spent her money on others. But it was this time, this moment, that she felt she should shine. Her heart skipped a beat at the reflection in the mirror.
”I hope you’re proud dad…I look stunning.”
She smiled innocently, thinking of what he would say. Her mother nearly fainted when she saw a picture of the dress, sent courtesy of an owl. Ravenna didn’t even like wearing something so expensive, but her mother pushed for this one - and she actually was pleased with the result. The fabrics clung to her soft skin, but didn’t itch. It was so very smooth and made her entire body glow. The brightness brought out the giddy green color in her eyes, as well as the light make-up and rosy cheeks. Her hair was curled and pulled back in a loose fitting bun - which was an ordeal by itself considering her hair reached past her waist. She took another deep breathe as one of the elves finished and backed away from her in content. She waited for a second more before taking a small step off the mound, making a click from her tall laced heels.
Nothing could stop the sheer pleasure in her smile as she twirled around sending the bottom ruffle floating around her. She looked at the elf with a broad smile and nodded, while saying thank you in a heavy accent. She left quickly and Ravenna grabbed her purse while taking one more look into the mirror. It amused her that a simple Ball could bring out the beauty in her. She hurried along, not worried about her hair falling - since the layers of spells kept it secure, along with the warm smell of ginger and lavender. She was to meet her date before the Great Hall doors, but she stayed even farther back, watching the other couples in their dresses and tuxes. She pursed her lips that were lightly coated in a soft pink, letting the reality hit her - that Ludovic Bagman asked her, and probably as she was thinking, he was making his way to grab her hand and enter the large room together.
Such un-Slytherin thoughts to be so happy, but as vulnerable as she was allowing herself to be, she still had her guard up for any misdeeds. [/blockquote]

((Nice Post))
Ludo kept his hair short specifically for the reason that it made it easier to deal with, but on night like this, self conscious doubt and constant strives for perfection had him still flicking at his short, bright blond locks until he felt satisfied. The young Raven straightened his bow tie, slid on his jacket before making his way out of the commonroom towards the great hall, where he was to meet his date.
As he made his way down the stairs Ludo wondered what the night held in store. He'd had a rather interesting meeting with his friend Mafalda Hopkirk just recently and had decided it would probably be in both of their best interests to just avoid her for the night. Besides, his attention should be focused on his date regardless. Ravenna, would no doubt be more than able to hold his attention. Of course it wasn't until he finally laid eyes upon his date that he could know just how true that statement was.
Ravenna was a cute girl to begin with, but tonight she looked absolutely stunning. "Ravenna, you look gorgeous," Ludo smiled as he approached his date, placing a quick kiss on her cheek before surveying her again. "Shall we go in?" he smiled offering Ravenna his arm.

I see the angels; {I'll lead them to your door.}
The noise that drifted out of the cathedral-like room made even her, the Slyth junkie, want to start moving. Start making her body dance to the beat that was pulsing thrown her veins like the richest venom. The kind you just can’t get the antidote for, because the cure is the action. You have to want to be cured, and in turn, want to let the simple pleasure proceed through you. That was exactly how she was feeling. Intoxicated by the sweet smells of party-cakes and punch, with the most festive and formal aromas of the fresh bakeries and drinks, none suited better than for a Yule Ball.
The light illuminated off of the far walls, as watching the shadows proceed into the room. They came in every shape, tall and straggly, and wide, but billowing. Of course, they were mere illusions, as everyone walking into the Great Hall was nothing short of beautiful. She inhaled again to smell not but a second before a familiar figure made his way towards her. The cologne made her senses tingle, as he placed a quick kiss on her cheek. His compliment washed over her like a tidal wave, removing any doubt or insecurity she might have had. Funny, how a single festive dance can made even the quietest person want to be completely visible. Her face flushed a scarlet, but hopefully the blush hid most of it. ”Hmm, thanks Ludo, you look quite handsome yourself!”
That was all she could say. Compliments were a foreign affair to her, since she just didn’t know how to take them. Not to be vane, but she has received many before. But each time, she almost feels embarrassed, and quickly responds with a compliment to the speaker. It wasn’t really a fault, she was just raised to not think of modesty in large doses. Of course, her response was almost unnecessary, seeing as anyone, hell, even the blind would know Ludo was gorgeous. But she had to keep reminding herself gently, to keep her emotions cool. No one wants a date that’s squirmy and giggling like a lunatic. As he offered his arm, Ravenna folded her own in a very smooth fashion under his. She nodded in approval as he asked a rhetorical question, and let the light truly hit her broad smile. OOC; Thanks Brett =] [/blockquote]

((welcome ;D ))
"Why thank you," Ludo grinned with a quick nod. He could have been cockier about it, but he decided it was better to keep his focus on his date. This was her night to shine and show all the people who whispered behind her back, (if there were any) that she looked totally hot in a dress. "I figured I should at least look worthy of my date," he added for good measure letting Ravenna know she was the star. She was his focus for the night, and was sure to be the focus for thousands of other eyes as well
As Ravenna took the arm offered he lead her into the beautifully decorated Great Hall, it was all so wonderful. The decorations seemed to get more and more extravagant each year, and Ludo wasn't complaining. As they moved in Ludo shook hands with a few people handed out smiles, and even got a few compliments whispered in his ear as to his choice of date. "You wanna get some punch, or go right into dancing?" Ludo asked wondering what Ravenna had in mind for the couple as far as the night was concerned. Ludo loved dances, and yet he hated them. He loved the large social aspect and getting to see people and show off his dress robes and all, but he hated it as far as girls were concerned.
Ludo thrived on having girls in one on one situations where he could effectively flirt and make witty comments. At dances, there was plenty to comment on, but having to greet all the people you knew was a burden when you were trying to focus on your date, not too mention he was never a big fan of being in the middle of a crowd. Not to mention the fact that you have to compete with the noise. In fact as all these negatives presented themselves Ludo wondered if taking Ravenna to the ball was really the best way to kick off their romance. Well, they would have to do their best and after the ball they could really talk and let their relationship grow.

Well I’m not {paralyzed} But, I seem to be {struck by you.}
She chuckled as he took the compliment without any hesitation. That was one difference between Ravenna and Ludo, that made their relationship that much more exotic. He was the known charmer and in-your-face type of character. Ravenna was the quieter, collected type that opposed the constant spotlight. Yet here she was, undoubtedly enjoying the rush with Ludo. Like he was the one source she needed to pull herself out of a personal rut. Just seeing how much she transformed in a few nights made her wonder how terribly ghost-like she had been while mourning for her father. Could she have been behind on so much? His next words were a joke, and she scoffed as she gave him a little nudge. Him stating he needed to worthy of her? Ha! ”Oh please Ludo, you know I’m to one who needs to be worthy of the future Quidditch star!” she mused in her heavy, but pleasant voice.
She did appreciate his reassurance towards her. Even though she didn’t care much of what others thought, this defiantly made her a little nervous. It was only human to have expectations, and when you soar above or below them - you never know the reaction. They just seemed so opposite, and maybe there was some truth in opposites attract. She never gave much thought to it, but it seemed pretty damn true here. Ravenna just nodded and smiled as Ludo did the polite thing and acknowledged those he knew. That was one huge plus side versus a date with a Slyth, or hell, even most other people. He was at least kind enough to speak to everyone, and not just stick his nose in the air. Ravenna would even be fine if he flirted with a few girls. She wasn’t the type to get jealous easy, and she knew he wouldn’t do something to intentionally hurt her - or so she hoped. It surprised her deeply how quick she was trusting this charismatic little raven.
As he asked her preference, she didn’t really mind. Although the deviant side of her sparked intense interest, and her teeth flashed in a big smile. ”Whichever you prefer, Ludo. Pick a song you like, and I’ll dance.” Her voice could easily carry itself over the monstrous noise. Not that she was a loud girl, but she knew how to be heard at noisy events. The years of going to muggle concerts had adapted her to the tight-quarters of a ballroom. In fact, she rather enjoyed going to parties with an attractive guy, because usually they had to lean closer to hear what you say. The closer they lean, the more temptation kicks in for a quick kiss. At that thought, she started thinking maybe a cool drink would be good. It would allow them to see everyone there - or rather, everyone see them. That would be when the spotlight would hit them; and they could truly show what a unique couple they made.OOC; Sorry it took so long! [/blockquote]

If your body matches what your eyes can do, you'll probably move right through me on my way to you
"Ha, that's what I thought too, until I saw how stunning you looked," Ludovic smirked keeping his eyes on Ravenna, trying to feel the jealous looks he was sure were aimed his way. Of course there were many beautiful girls, in the great hall, but none could seem to compare with the sheer awe presented by his date's surprising beauty. Which only added to the surprisingly different personalities of the pair.
Ravenna's voice was clear and easy to hear, in part due to her accent. Admittedly it was not the sexiest accent Ludo had heard, but it worked well for Ravenna and it was hard for him to imagine her speaking any other way. Though hearing her didn't present a problem Ludo leaned into her a bit anyway, he was never one to pass up the opportunity to get closer to a pretty girl. The sweet scent of Ravenna's perfume became clearer filling the young Raven's nostrils. He considered Ravenna's preference of having no preference and looked to the punch bowl then to the dance floor and back again before leaning into his date once again to speak.
"Let's grab some punch," Ludo decided taking Ravenna's hand as he led her towards the punch bowl. He was a bit thirsty, especially in the rising heat of the crowded ball room. There was also the fact that Ludovic had yet to spot Mafalda Hopkirk, and was rather determined to avoid an accidental run in on the dance floor. Then again perhaps his Hufflepuff partner had not been able to find a date and decided to avoid the ball all together. Ludo wasn't sure if he liked the idea of that or not.
Ludo continued a few polite smiles, answering the question of 'how you doing?' as he made his way past. Once they were at the punch bowl Ludo filled two cups and handed one to Ravenna. "So, you think anyone's had the chance to spike it yet?" Ludo smirked holding up the dark pink liquid trying to judge if it was too early in the ball for someone to have slipped something with a little more kick into the innocent looking beverage.

This club has got to be; the most pretentious thing. Since I thought of {you and me}
Again, with the flattery. It never got old, nor stopped the flushing of her pale face. She shook her head and laughed. ”You Ravens…you know how to do flattery justice.” She could have said more, but decided he would already know damn well that’s the ravens are known for superior intelligence - but that didn’t mean she didn’t have anything to offer. She was, after all, still a serpent. She had the skills up her sleeves as well. She felt him lean his body closer to her, and a shiver ran down her exposed neck. No matter how aged or perfected some people were, some things would always send a tingle down their spine. Her kryptonite would be having a delightfully handsome Raven close enough to feel his breath.
He in essence answered his own question as he determined punch would be the best thing for now. She let herself be pulled, gently mind you, by her date through the crowded room. She felt as though he was a little distracted, but didn’t dwell on the thought. Who wouldn’t be from all the commotion? Besides, she had to keep reminding herself that going to the Yule Ball with a well-known seventh year, was bound to have it’s little bumps. She just hoped she wasn’t driving blind into something worse. That same sense of trust was creeping up on her again, and it was really starting to aggravate her. How could she so easily believe Ludo’s charisma? Well it wasn’t a matter of how - she already did.
Once at the punch bowl, Ravenna took the cup gratefully, and looked at the cup. Her eyebrow raised at his question, but she took the initiative to find out with a wide grin. Smoothly lifting the clear cup up, she allowed a slow trickle down her throat, and waited for any burn or sensations that usually came with the ‘spiking’. Nothing happened at first, and she began to get a little disappointed. Maybe it was too early in the night for some intoxicated students. But then her nose caught a small whiff of alcohol. It was confirmed as she began to feel it crawling into her mouth. It wasn’t a lot. Certainly not, but enough for those attuned to it, to know. She looked back up at Ludo with sparkling eyes, just about a dead giveaway. She wasn’t addicted to drinking, but she had done it before; on more occasions than she’d admit. ”That’s up to you to decide…” Of course he would know the answer with just one look at her face.OOC; Sorry it took so long!..Again. I am imagining a dark lit place or your place or my place
"Well, I'm one of the best. Being such an egotist just made me an expert at compliments, even when they aren't directed towards me," Ludo smiled. Bragging about how good he was at bragging, he really was something. "Besides, looking the way you do makes it almost impossible to not compliment you," he added deciding that he needed to have some charm to balance out his egotistic comment. Afterall, like he had said, this night was about Ravenna not him. Of course she knew him well enough to expect the arrogant outbursts, but that really wasn't an excuse to have them.
Ludo smirked thinking he already knew the answer from the look on his dates face, and once the liquid reached his lips. It was subtle spiking, well executed, but whoever it was could have risked a little more. Ludo was pleased though. He alway preferred the underspiked punch to the overspiked punch as it ended up taking the flavor right out of the actual punch. Ludo drank plenty, not super heavy, but it wasn't uncommon to see him at a party drinking...though quidditch had made it more uncommon of late. The fact was though if he wasn't a big fan of the taste...he doubted many people were. Plus he had been genuinely thirsty, and while alcohol had it's uses, thirst quenching was not one of them.
Ludo took another sip of punch allowing the weak burn of alcohol move down his throat. He felt badly about having to greet so many people, but Ravenna hopefully didn't mind too much, and now that he was able to complete his room scan and find no sign of his blond Hufflepuff friend they could head out onto the dance floor where he knew most people would know not to come say hi. "Wanna dance?" Ludo asked after downing the rest of his punch. Standing still for too long was bound to open them up to conversation, more likely than not with someone Ludo would prefer not to talk to.
((no problem...again. haha))

I hold out for one more drink Before I think I’m looking too {desperately.}
After the millionth compliment, she started to get a little uncomfortable. Don’t misunderstand her, she loved the attention; but it was like he was constantly trying to reassure himself, not her, that she was worth his time. The creeping feeling of his absent behavior also lead her to believe maybe she wasn’t his first choice. Or maybe, she was just a ploy for more attention. Whatever the case, she felt herself become a little numb - wondering whether he really liked her, or if it was just for show. Merlin only knows he could have just about any date he wanted, so why choose her? What was so special about her, that he was drawn to? Get a hold of yourself, Ravenna. You’re thinking like a fool! She had to think rationally, and tried desperately to put aside her doubts. It was hard to accomplish though, when she was built from doubt and pessimistic behaviors, always wondering the true motives of someone.
She kept a smooth face, but she wasn’t sure a second if she had slipped. Either way, she tried to recover from her moment of disillusion, and spoke in her average vocals. ”Ludo, you need to look into a job of flattery - you’d most certainly excel.” She added a sugarcoat of pleasure, and being of one, often stuck on himself - she doubted he would know much of the difference. She chuckled when he took the sip, already knowing it’s contents. Sometimes knowing something, but pretending not too was better than a true mystery. She decided she needed a little extra, so she finished off the cup, wondering if it would even dent her large scale buffer between sobriety and intoxication.
She watched him closely, without looking intrusive. After he finished off the drink, he asked if she wanted to dance. She was desperately in the mood to get some of her frustration out, with perhaps some modern dancing. One gift she often didn’t think about, until it was being used; was her flexibility. That might possibly sound like the most provocative thing, but she wasn’t a whore - she just had the body of an athlete, without the workout. It was a blessing she thanked, then turned full attention to Ludo. ”You’re in a rush Ludo, surely there’s not someone else you want to meet?” She grinned, flashing those pearly white teeth again. She meant it solely as a joke, with an extra effort on the sarcasm. OOC; So I decided to add a little skepticism, maybe as like a warning? [/blockquote]

I wanna make you move Because you're standing still
Ludo caught an odd vibe from his date, that maybe his compliments weren't landing as solidly as they should. Maybe Ravenna had become aware of the fact that she was being treat as the sole focus of the renowned 'playboy.' What Ludo thought were coming off as well deserved compliments seemed to be perceived as differently somehow, perhaps he should pull back more? Maybe focus less on his date, to relieve any feelings that he needed to keep his eyes on her at all times or else forget that she was there.
"Why, thank you, but flattery stands at second among my most marketable talents, quidditch being the first," Ludo grinned. Modesty, however, did not even break the top 20. Fortunately the first two made any other qualities all but superfluous. He knew how to play quidditch better than most any one and could sweet talk with the best. Ludo took a moment more to look over his date before letting his eyes stray over the dance floor again. He was eager to escape the vulnerable position the punch table provided, but it seemed everyone's attention had been turned elsewhere.
"If I had wanted to spend this night in anyone else's company I would have asked them to be my date," Ludo said back hoping Ravenna wouldn't mind one more compliment. The truth was that he had asked her to be his date so they could get better acquainted, which was a task that proved difficult with all the greeting he had to do with his 'fans' but good public relations was essential to becoming a well known quidditch player. Though Ludo was widely perceived as being self-centered that was not the image he hoped to present as a player. He wanted to be instead the one who signed loads of autographs for young fans, the one who smiled for camera's and shook all hands offered to him. He wanted more than anything to become a role model for the next generation. He lived to hear young boys utter the phrase 'when I grow up I want to be just like Ludo Bagman.'
((Continuing from the C-box Marlene can maybe be mentioned since she'll be the one going with him to the party, Mafalda I think would better be left out since Ravenna doesn't have much reason to suspect anything of her))

Don't bother pretending; I seem fine. I like that, I'm a {mess.}
Maybe he had gotten the hint, because he seemed to ease off a bit. That made her relax as well, letting back her shoulders, and really feeling like she fit in. The sparkles from her satin and silk dress seemed to illuminate off of every light, making her feel like a lightening bug in the midst of a thousand others. Although she would like to think she glowed a tad bit more than the rest. Just for the occasion, she had added a few green highlights to match her dress. It had become a perfected talent of hers to change at will. Her pale grey eyes then looked up at Ludo, since he was a bit taller than her, and grinned. ”Quidditch? Why of course! Your flattery would help you greatly, in whichever absolutely amazing team you get accepted on.”
And she meant every word, he would get signed, and he sure as hell would be on a good team. Lets face it, he could try and sell you the most rotten looking piece of crap, and between his smooth tongue and well-groomed appearance, you’d pay a million bucks for it. That brought her to one thought that completely turned her in a sour direction. When he did become famous, would he ever remember those that got him here? She wasn’t one for thinking deep into the future, but she didn’t know how long this fling would last. Would she end up just another notch and heartbroken like the rest? She had like to think not, but self-preservation was a little faltering when she took a look at him.
It was like her breath could be vacuumed right out of her lungs, and replaced by infatuation. The one thing she fought desperately to not become, was taking over, and it made her sick. He was a master at this game, and maybe she was just getting played. Always so doubtful, Ravenna. She managed to push away that repulsive thought, and smiled again at Ludo. Why not just enjoy this evening? Make the most of it, because in the back of her mind she already knew - great things never last forever. Just how long forever was, depended on what she made of it. ”Ah Ludo, you know I’m glad to be here with you.” And with that, she grabbed his hand, and started walking into the crowd, determined to live this night up to the fullest. OOC; Okay, sounds good! [/blockquote]

I'm bound to wander where All of your glitter's going
"Why thank you Ravenna," Ludo smiled. "I certainly like to believe it will." It was nice to have Ravenna's support, it somehow meant more then the support of others that the young Raven had come so accustom to getting. "Don't worry though, no matter what amazing team I end up with, I'll never forget where I came from," he added grinning. It was sort of another one of those PR things, you never forget the people, those who made you who you are. Ravenna was one of those people...or at least he wanted her to be. She was certainly a big part of his life now, but would she still be considered as such a year from now?
He didn't want to think that he would forget Ravenna, or anyone he had once been close to, but it did happen didn't it? People become memories when your no longer around them, memories can be forgotten, or buried, intentionally or accidentally. He would have so much on his plate next year would he really remember anyone? Would they only cross his mind as he lay in bed waiting for sleep to come, staring at the ceiling? Was that what his past seven years of making memories and meeting friends, and girlfriends would amount to? Bedtime reminisces? It didn't seem right or fair, but could it be any other way? Would he rather just live in his past memories? Fail his classes and stay at Hogwarts? No, that wasn't a choice, he had to move on and hope those who really mattered stuck close to memory.
"Good, I'd hate to think I was here with someone who wanted to be here with someone else," Ludo said smiled again in that good natured way of his. Of course he would have deserved such treatment as he had forced girls into such positions before, where he had been there ideal date while to him they were only a date, almost an accessory to go with his dress robes. He would never try to let on as such, but it was sometimes noticed nonetheless. Thankfully though Ravenna was not such a case, he was glad to have chosen her as his date...and while he had considered others, well it was like he said, if he'd wanted to be with anyone else he would have asked them.

Don't bother pretending; I seem fine. I'm trying to {confess.}
She chuckled at his response, then almost, mind the almost - gagged from his next statement. It came out more like a natural cough; but she determined he could read into her mind. That was exactly what she had been thinking, and it made her skin crawl from the outside in. Not necessarily in a bad way - just that he tapped into her feelings so quickly. "Don't worry though, no matter what amazing team I end up with, I'll never forget where I came from," She had been so caught up in the moment, she didn’t stop to think maybe he had some special abilities such as herself. Was he taught in Legilmens? Her mind contorted around the thought, as she decide to put up her owl barrier. She imagined large white clouds covering each and every personal thought that was swimming through her head.
Even though she wasn’t an expert, per say in Occlumens - she did have the upper-hand. She decided to test him. She watched his face carefully, but without being obvious. If he tapped into her monstrous white clouds, instead of some inner emotion - his face would surely show. She hated being so protective, but it was part of her survival. She didn’t just last a summer in her mom’s household with her prying step-father; without carefully barricading herself from his mind. Obviously Ludo found something in her that he liked, but she could damn well guarantee he didn’t know how complex she really was. Maybe he would take flight the second he new how defensive and cautious she really was. She didn’t know why she wanted to impress him so much - but she felt she needed to stop being so, well, sour.
She kept her eyes on his perfected face, still watching for that change, but also taking in his beauty again. She decided to tease him a little, and see just what kind of humor he had. ”Well you know Ludo, there was this kid…” her voice dripped sarcasm, even though she tried to add a little sincerity. More than likely though, he could see past her strain to keep the smile off her face - and know she was just messing with him. She’d like to think he could take a joke, since she herself wasn’t also so uptight. A good laugh almost always made you forget everything else. Almost. [/blockquote]

I'm still imagining a dark lit place
"You ok?" Ludo asked swallowing another mouthful of punch quickly in his haste to check on his dates health. It was a stupid thing to have to ask over something as silly as a little cough, but it was reflex for Ludo, especially since he was caught a bit off guard at the abruptness of it. But she'd probably just had some punch go down the wrong pipe, nothing to be alarmed about in the slightest. Still something seemed a bit off afterwards. Ravenna seemed to almost measure him up. But he was of course reading too much into a silly little cough, wasn't he?
He looked to Ravenna for any hint that may confirm the sneaking suspicions that something was up, but instead found himself just looking at her in a quick moment of admiration. It was stunning how she could defy the conventional image of attraction and at the same time fit it to a t. Her face was beautifully framed, her lips were luscious and vibrant. Ludo tried to picture for a second what Ravenna might look like, slightly altered to more 'traditional' standards, but really couldn't wrap his mind around the concept and he dare say it would only take away from his dates appeal if she was just another bleach blonde with a pretty face.
"Oh, really?" Ludo asked immediately cracked a smile at Ravenna's comment figuring the timing was right for a joke, but he still cautiously scanned his dates face, relieved to find the hints of laughter that confirmed it was merely a joke. Of course it would have to be, because Ludo was the ideal date in every girls mind wasn't he? Well, perhaps every single girls mind...and perhaps in few of the taken ones minds. What was there not to like after all? He was well built, attractive, charming, intelligent, witty, and soon to be rich and famous. But he was perhaps a little too aware that he was all of those things, but even that was part of his appeal.
