As Regulus described the girl, Mafalda found herself oddly smiling. She really didn't like Indigo, but she didn't hate her either, and she had no reason to be in a bad mood by the way Regulus felt toward the girl. Obviously he found something great in her, and who was Mafalda to try and say or think that it wasn't true. There were things about herself that other people couldn't stand, but that some found absolutely adorable. It really all mattered on the people involved. And, Regulus sounded more sure of what he was saying at that moment then he had sounded the whole evening.
"Shallow and sarcastic, well that's a must," she agreed, nodding her head, and trying not to sound too sarcastic about it. She was being very sarcastic, but not in the mean way. She was just poking fun. "It's a good thing I don't go for those two things or I might be falling for you."
When somebody came up to ask them if they would like a drink, Mafalda smiled brightly and politely ordered a Firewhiskey. She waited for Regulus to order what he wanted, and then she went back to their conversation. "Does she give you butterflies?"

"Give it time darling, you'll come around," Regulus smirked. It was then that he realized why he had been so nice to Mafalda, basically there entire conversation had been based in sarcasm, it reminded him of Indi. That was why the conversation flowed so well, why he was actually enjoying her presence rather than being annoyed by it. Reg wondered if Mafalda may have pickup on this as well.
"I'll have the same," Regulus smiled to waiter. Always be kind to those who deal with your and /or drink. It was an easy rule to forget when you had a house elf at home who wouldn't dare mess with your food, but Regulus had always been kind to Kreacher, he was about the only one too. In any case Reg probably shouldn't even be drinking Firewhiskey considering what happened last time, but they had decided to impose a two drink limit anyway so why not go for it?
Regulus nodded as Mafalda returned him to the conversation. "It's really weird, but I like it. It's like this nervous feeling, but in a good way...if that makes any sense," Reg attempted to explain. He was sure that half the things he said in respect to how he felt about Indi didn't make sense, but anybody who had ever been in love before would easily understand. Which brought a question to Reg's mind had Mafalda ever been in love?

"Given some more time I'll have alcohol in my body, so then I don't hold falling for you past myself. Of course once I sober up, it'll be back to not being able to stand you," she said, winking at him. Naturally Mafalda remembered the two drink limit as well, so she wasn't actually expecting the alcohol in her body to affect her judgement that night, but her mother had always told her that having any alcohol in your body could affect your judgement. Mafalda never really believed her though.
Mafalda shifted in her seat, reaching her hand down to adjust her stockings. The one on her right leg was starting to slip down to her knee. The thick, purple, cheetah print, had caught some looks as she walked through the door, but she hadn't even noticed. Lack of money in her household caused her and her mother to both have to deal with second-hand clothes. Mafalda had learned at an early age that some very interesting things could be found in thrift stores. Regulus never seemed to notice her style either, possibly because the first day she had ran into him she had been wearing purple overalls. If he did find it funny looking, he didn't let her know it.
"The last time I felt anything like that I had the flu," she said, looking from her leg to him. She finished pulling her stocking up right as their drinks arrived, and once again she smiled brightly and said thank you. She picked up the mug with both hands, held it up to her face, and smiled at her reflection in the drink. "I love the burn."

"That sounds oddly familiar," Regulus smiled playing as if he didn't know why. Of course they both knew, it had been just about the only thing they had talked about until Mafalda mentioned Indigo. Tonight however there would be no falling for anyone, though they would most likely go back to hating each other tomorrow, and order would be restored to the universe.
"You do realize you just compared being in love to having the flu," Regulus said unable to hide the smile on his face. It was quite a bad comparison in his mind, but he supposed in both cases you were sick in a way. But still Reg would take love over the flu any day. It kind of made him sad that Mafalda hadn't had the chance to experience what he had. Another side effect of this love thing, he now had empathy to assist his conscience...Maybe he would rather have the flu after all.
"You have a very interesting sense of style, did I ever tell you that?" Regulus asked feeling compelled to make a comment on Mafalda's interesting looking stockings. He'd actually always kind of liked the off beat style she seemed to have, or maybe he just thought he always had because he seemed to like everything tonight.
"It's a good burn," Regulus agreed after taking a sip from his own mug. He liked the burn, especially on a cold night like tonight. The whiskey burned in his chest seeping slowly towards his limbs. Regulus had always preferred firewhiskey as he found butterbeer to be just too sweet.

"Deja Vu," she muttered, agreeing with him. She smiled again before taking a drink of her Firewhiskey, closing her eyes as she let the warm liquid slide down her throat. It was like swallowing a mouthfull of needles. Perhaps a little less painful, but she knew a lot of people just couldn't handle it. Mafalda was weird weird in that way, enjoying pain when she was the subject of it. She hated causing other to feel pain. It made her think there should be a house called Slytherpuff. She would fit right in there.
She didn't say anything to defend what she had said about having the flu. She knew what she had meant. The girl had honestly never been in love with anybody her whole seventeen years of existance. It wasn't like she sheltered herself, or found something disgusting about men. She just....hadn't met somebody who could give her those butterflies. From what she had heard it wasn't really something she wanted to experience though. The feeling of weakness, vulnerability, and need to be with somebody- "No thank you," she whispered to herself.
"Well thank you," she said, obviously taking what he told her as a compliment. It was easy to take 'interesting' as a compliment though, when so many other people had used much more harsh words to describe her style. "Your style is...nice..too...." she said, taking another drink and trying not to laugh. A mouthful of Firewhiskey and laughter weren't a good thing to mix. She managed to swallow it before trying to explain. "I mean....for spending so much money on clothes they're awfully plain. I don't like to dress up, like you lot. I like to play dress-up."

"Well I don't really like making a statement with my clothes. My style is built around whatever materials feel most comfortable," Regulus explained attempting to defend his style. Mafalda was right, most of his clothes were rather plain, and he paid far too much for a designer label, but he couldn't help it. Just like Mafalda had grown accustom to shopping at thrift stores he had grown accustom to shopping at high end stores.
Most of his wardrobe currently was his school robes. Outside of that it was mostly shirts which varied in style, t-shirts, v-necks, one turtle neck that he never wore. Most of them were made of thinner material mostly plain, far too many were black, but seeing as black was literally his last name it was fitting. He also had a fair amount of jeans a few khakis. He actually had far too many clothes, but spending frivolously had never been a concern. Outside of that he had a few pairs of dress robes, a few sweatshirts like the one he had worn tonight and a leather jacket as well as dragon scale one. There were also various other high priced accessories, top end shoes and such.
Regulus took another swig from his mug. "Besides, when your a member of the Noble house of Black people expect a certain style of you. And if you don't keep to what is expected, you get disowned...like my b-- Sirius," Regulus had to cut off his original intent. He was not to refer to Sirius as his brother any longer. Though he may still share the name, he was as good as dead to their parents. That seemed to suit Sirius just fine to, right git, he was running to the arms of his new family, the Potters.

"I don't really like making a statement with my clothes either. I have a mouth, and I generally use it if I want to make a statement," she said, falling right back into her habit of sarcasim around anyone in Slytherin. "I just like color."
If one were to take a peak in Mafalda's closest they would find exactly the opposite of Regulus' closest. Bright, bold colors from floor to cieling, in every type of fabric possible. She had stockings in every color of the rainbow, and some not in the rainbow. She loved stockings. She loved ruffles. She loved skirts, and bows, and buttons. Stripes, polka-dots, plaid, checkered, anything you could think up you could find there. She usually wore the most missmatched things too, because she lacked an eye for fashion. She had no idea what looked good together, but managed to make it work.
"Well at least you've got family. I don't have anyone to disown me if I screw up. Then again, my mum has done enough screwing up for the both of us," she said, sighing. It was true. If it wasn't bad enough that her mother had gotten pregnant with Mafalda at fourteen, she also had been a cruddy mom for the majority of Mafalda's life. She was making up for it though. "Too bad about your brother though. You two are an awful lot alike, for being so different," she said, noticing that over half of her drink was already gone. "And I don't mean just your looks. That being said- Sirius is so...hott. Too bad he's not my type. Poor boy's missing out."

"Color is overrated," Regulus smirked. Probably 90% of Regulus wardrobe consisted of about 5 colors, Black, White, Gray, Brown, and Green and the other 10% was his jeans. Regulus just never bought colored clothes, they never seemed to look right. Probably because his childhood clothes had been centered around the same color scheme and after so many years changing became a nonoption...if that's even a word.
Why did all the Hufflepuff's have such terrible parents? Bella's mother had gotten rid of her, with her father possibly not knowing she was ever even born and now it seemed Mafalda had a similar story, only it seemed her mother was still in the picture. Regulus took another swig of his drink to keep from continuing his complaints about being raised the way he was, because in the end he always ended up losing.
His parents may not have been loving, in fact he wasn't even sure his parents knew what love was, what it felt like, but at least they had kinda been there. Although when he had problem it was usually Kreacher who he turned to. It was Kreacher who had taken care of him when he got sick, really that house elf was the closest thing he had to a parent. But at least he did have someone, it seemed like a lot of people didn't even have that.
"Well I'm sure he'd be more than willing to have a one night stand with you, and you won't even need to get him drunk," Regulus said crossly as he took another heavy swig of his whiskey. Stupid git Sirius was, more conceded than Reg was. Suppose it made sense seeing as he was the 'attractive' sibling. "You might need to do it in front of a mirror though," Regulus added smiling. alcohol always had a way of cheering him up. Speaking of which it was nearly time for another mug. Only about a third to go after he finished taking a sip to celebrate his witty comment about his ex-brother.

"Done!" she said, setting her mug back on the table. "But, still not full." Mafalda smiled, as she listened to Regulus go on about his brother. Was that a tone of jealousy that she detected? Mafalda didn't know what Regulus would be jealous of, considering he was the one still loved by his family and liked by his house-mates. For all the years she had known this boy, she still didn't know much about him. It was a pity that they spent more time together bickering...or fooling around....then actually talking, like they were now.
"You say that like I have one night stands all the time," she said, a bit of an edge to her voice. "I hope you aren't implying anything of me." Mafalda had definitely had her fair share of sexual encounters, but she wasn't a slut by any means, especially compared to most of the girls in the castle. She didn't sleep around just for fun- not that it wasn't fun.
"And, you better watch it. I might get idea's. First libraries, next mirrors. Sounds kinky," she said, this time completely ignoring the person who refilled their drinks.

"If I was implying anything of anyone it would have been Sirius," Regulus clarified. Of course Mafalda had said that he wasn't her first. Technically she never actually said it, but it had been implied. As for Sirius though Reg wasn't sure of what his brother's level of sexual experience was. He had always assumed that because he heard girls giggling about how cute he was that he at least could sleep with most of them, the question was simply had he?
It would have been quite amusing, at least to Reg, if he had beaten his older brother to losing his virginity. Not that it had been any sort of race, or that Reg's first and only time had been any thing more than a drunken accident, but still it would be kinda cool. Besides even if it had been an accident, it certainly had been a pleasant experience.
"Yea well that's one way of putting it I suppose," Regulus muttered. Sounds like some one needs some more Firewhiskey. Taking a another long swig Regulus noticed that he now seemed to have more than he had thought, quite strange, but he must have simply been lost in conversation and forgotten how much was in the mug. "So is the library as kinky as you've gotten so far," Regulus said the alcohol beginning to loosen his lips.

Along with most of the girls in the school, Mafalda knew of Sirius' reputation as well. She didn't know how many, if any, girls he had been with, but she assumed it had been enough. When it came to thinking he was attractive, Mafalda had to agree with the masses. When it came to dating him, she would have to refuse. He really wasn't her type at all, but the more she tried to figure out what type was her type, the more it seemed that she didn't have one.
"The library? Oh now, I haven't told you about the time in the shrieking shack. Oh, or that time in the lake- a few people asked me if I was okay after that one. They'd thought I'd been drowning. And, there was also the time on top of the Potion professors desk, while he was out of the room during detention." Mafalda began drinking her newly poured Firewhiskey, looking at Regulus over the brim of the mug.
"But the library was fun too," she said, shrugging. She was playing this one off nicely, but she was sure he would see right through it. She wasn't trying to make him believe her story, she just didn't feel like over-doing the sarcasm. Hopefully he would understand she was only bluffing.

This time it actually took Regulus a moment to realize that Mafalida had been kidding. It actually wasn't until the comment about people thinking she had been drowning in the lake that he had caught on and the Potions Professors desk sealed it. Still it was kind of strange to think that someone probably had done those, or at least thought about doing those, even if Mafalda hadn't.
"I've always wondered what it would be like in the water," Regulus mused taking a sip of his firewhiskey. He had understood Mafalda never had, but it had still sparked the idea. Regulus loved the water, so cool and serene. He imagined it would be nice two wet naked bodies coming together as one. The image in itself seemed romantic in a way. Reg would have to remember to give a try. "Or in a field," He added taking another sip of his drink. The grass would probably feel nice, and soft, but you could end up with some awkward grass stains on your body.
The beach would also be a good place. Ofcourse then there would be the issue of sand. "What'd you think?" Regulus asked deciding he would like some input on the subject. Why he was so fixated on sex he wasn't sure. Maybe it was just that he was too lazy to think of a new topic, or because at this point he was basically just thinking out loud.

For naming off all of those things that she hadn't done, Mafalda also hadn't put any thought into doing them- not until Regulus brought it up. The water. She had honestly never thought about doing something like that in the water, but she could only imagine that it would be a different experience. As for a field...well that didn't sound as appealing to her. She just didn't find sex in a field as something that was very romantic, not to mention grass .... everywhere. Mafalda was allergic to most grass, so that probably wouldn't be the best idea.
"I don't know," she said, chewing on her bottom lip. It was a bad habit she had when she was thinking, or when she was nervous. Later her bottom lip would start peeling and she'll have wished she didn't do it as much. As for right now, she didn't even realize. "Fields aren't really my thing, but in the lake could actually be fun. I think my favorite would probably be on a professors desk though. I like the option of being caught," she said, smirking. She wouldn't really want to be caught, but it was fun to put yourself in that position.
"Then again, I still have a fondness for the library as well."

"I suppose that would make it more exciting," Regulus said thinking over the idea. A Professor's desk seemed a bit risque, but it certainly could be fun. Reg could only imagine the excitement of such a thing. Having sex and all the while knowing that at any moment the professor could walk in and catch you. It made him wonder if the excitement made the experience any better. He would have to add it to his list of places to have sex.
"I certainly enjoyed it," Regulus smiled once again sipping whiskey from his mug. "It would have been much more exciting it it had been during the day though," he added thoughtfully. Then there would be serious risk of getting caught. Unless of course the chose the restricted section, then they should be safe, but hadn't he just decided that safe would make it less exciting and probably not as good. Having sex in the forbidden forest certainly seemed worth a try if for no other reason than the name seemed fitting to the act.
Regulus sipped his mug and realized he was down to about half a glass, again. Of course as far as he could tell he was still on his first drink. "Remember we've got a two drink limit," he said looking to Mafalda to ensure she hadn't forgotten the safety measures they were taking to prevent a repeat performance. It wouldn't be fitting now, and anyways it would just be sex with no attachment, so was there even a point?

"I don't know," she said, thinking over the thought of which would have been more exciting- day or night in the library. Sure, the day would be much more risky, but the night just filled the library with a nice mood. Having sex during the day seemed like it would be less appetizing, and she just didn't think she could get in to it. "The night has a better feel to it. It seems more appropriate. The day just seems messy."
Mafalda saw Regulus glance into his mug, and decided to check hers too. It was almost gone, for the second time, but she wasn't sure she was ready to end the night yet. She was having interesting conversation, and if she went back to the castle she would just feel bored. Not to mention, she would probably think up all sorts of other questions that she wished she had asked him. She might as well use the time wisely, before they went back to being rivals.
"Don't remind me," she said, sticking her tongue out at him. "I didn't think having just two drinks would be so....unsatisfying."
