((if you want Sirius to actually not have his wand for some reason, just tell me, and I'll edit my post. ^_^))
As Professor Godolphin reached held his hand out to expectantly receive the wand, Sirius glowered and reached into his cloak. He felt about in his cloak's inner pocket, feeling two almost identical-looking shafts of wood. However, one was about an inch taller than the other. He pulled out the shorter piece of wood and placed the joke wand into the Professor's hand beside his brother's. Sirius greatly doubted that Professor Godolphin would actually try to cast a spell with the joke wand and discover it was a fake.
He smirked as the door closed behind Professor Godolphin, and then turned his attention to the next problem: their feathery guardian. “Hey, you, bird, can you talk?” Sirius held both his hands up disarmingly, so as to make sure that it didn’t misinterpret his question for a threat and stun him. “I just want to know. It might be interesting to have some vocal company.” He put on one of his most convincing smiles.
Sirius glanced sideways at his brother, wondering if Regulus was being a good boy and starting the lines as he should. Oh well, it didn’t really matter either way. If things were going the way he hoped they would, then he’d be out of here in less than ten minutes, maybe to go get a couple cream puffs from the kitchens or watch some pretty 6th years from the balcony above the staircase leading up to the Ravenclaw common room. Then, he’d be able to return before Godolphin came back, and the Transfiguration teacher would be none the wiser!
