Character Advice.

Okay, so, here's my situation:

I came to the site, looked over the canons list, and decided to create an OC. I was planning to make the future Mrs. Lovegood, thinking she wasn't on the canons list (I was going to ask permission to do this, of course).

So I get halfway done with the application, and have really put my all into her character (even going as far as writing a family history in addition to her history), and what zeal-sapping realization finds me? There already is a future Mrs. Lovegood. DX I must've not seen her the first time round.

Ahhhh. Yeah. So. I'm really upset. ;; But I did not start this thread to complain!

I came here to pose a few questions: in general, if I decided to join as a younger student (first - third year) what could I do with my character? Since there obviously won't be any serious romance or anything like that, and since there aren't many younger students, I'm not sure if there'd be much to do. Enlighten me if there is, please.

Then: Charity Burbage is not on the canons list, correct? May I apply for her? I believe she would be a student at this point.

And: There is an asterisk near Devona Edgecombe's name. I know I should contact an admin via PM, but I thought it would more convenient to do so here, since I don't have an account.

Lastly: Pansy Parkinson's future mother is not listed under the minor canon list, correct (unless I missed her too ._.)? Would she be attending Hogwarts at this point? And if so, may I apply for her?

Hey Lilly! First off, thanks for considering ISS as a new site to join (: We're glad about that. Having said that, we'll get right down to answering your questions, yes? It is true that there's a serious lack of younger years on the site, and while we tried to encourage people to sign up for them, you may understand it's rather hard for that to accomplish. Therefore, ISS doesn't really have that many younger students. One or two at the most if we're being brutally honest. If you register for a younger year, it's true, there probably wouldn't be much romancing going on, but that doesn't stop you from plotting with the rest of our members--which, may I add, are always open to drama (: . It's basically the same thing as if you created an older charrie, except perhaps there wouldn't be romance involved.

Also, the question about the canons...as you may or may not have noticed at the beginning of the canon list, it specifies that it's rather...bonkers, to put it lightly xD There are a lot of names that shouldn't be there to begin with, and probably a couple more that are missing. That list was put out before the seventh book came out, so of course there will be a lot of errors and whatnot. We always encourage members that if they see a name missing from the list, to contact us and we can talk it out if that's the character they want to create. After all, this is an RPG and we're flexible about these things (; As for Charity Burbage, I'm afraid you won't be able to play her, mainly because we'll be using her name as a Professor? That's an incoming project of the staff, and hopefully you and the rest of the members will see the results. If you want to apply for Devona Edgecombe, we're asking the candidates to PM the admin account because there are a couple of limitations to this. See, Devonna Edgecombe was played by ISS’ previous admin, Trisha. Due to a hectic schedule, and the fact that Real Life always takes priority, she gave up her character to be played by someone else. If you would like to play her, you must be within the understanding that should Trisha return she has full rights to take her back as a character. We understand that it really isn't the most appealing thing out there, but it's what the staff has concluded to be for the best. If you are still willing to play her and agree to these prerequisites, then we’d be more then happy to welcome you into our site family with the first character of Devona Edgecombe. Feel free to apply for Pansy Parkinson's mom, but make sure you have solid background/history for her, as well as her maiden name and whatnot!
