Regulus smirked, "Maybe...or maybe you just don't like admitting that we might be alike...it's not a bad thing you know, being like me," he said somewhere between coaxing her into confessing that she was a Slytherin at heart and being offended that she was defending the fact that they may be alike. There was nothing wrong with being Regulus Black, therefore there was nothing wrong with being like Regulus Black, or liking Regulus Black and he suspected Vas of both. It actually would explain why they were getting on so well together despite what you may think from first glances.
Regulus was actually surprised he had made it up on the first attempt, but fear of embarrassment, and possibly being trampled by a unicorn were strong motivating factors. "Not bad for a first timer, if I say so myself," he smiled still clutching Vas' waist. Regulus loved taking pride in anything he could, even something as simple as successfully mounting a unicorn. He was definitely glad Vas was on the beast with him though, somehow Reg had the feeling Silvara would have tried to have some fun if it was just Reg...maybe it was just because that was probably what he would have done in the unicorns place.
"How fast can he go?" Regulus asked his voice flirting between excitement and fear. He would love to feel the rush of wind against his face, but even though it was a broader base than his broom stick Reg still felt as though it would be too easy to fall off...which was why he was holding onto Vas. "I think there's a clearing a little North/Northwest of here," he suggested thinking he knew where they were in the forest, though it was difficult to tell.

Well, it was certainly a blessing that Regulus was sitting behind her and therefore wasn’t able to see her blush. Some new tone was itching into his voice, almost like he wanted to laugh but at the same time was trying to be irritated with her. The mixture wasn’t so easily read, so Vas kept quiet a moment, trying to think of some witty response and coming up with none. Okay, so using lies against a liar doesn’t work; mental note. She sighed in slight defeat, “You know I was almost put in Slytherin.” Might as well tell him; if anything for conversations sake. “So if you really want, I guess you could say we’re similar…in some ways.” That seemed allowable. Everyone was similar in one way or another, right?
“Not bad for a first timer, if I say so myself.” Mmm, well, was it really all that wrong she could nearly hear him smirking? Stereotypical or not, he was bound to be a little boastful sometimes. “I’d like to see you try it without any instruction,” she laughed, “Or even just ride all by yourself. Trust me, you wouldn’t get very far – couple steps max and you’d wind up flat on your butt. Not to rain on your parade or anything though,” he added innocently, “But riding is defiantly a skill only perfected with time.” And after today she doubted he would ever comeback in here to hunt Silvara down just to get in some decent practice. Vas wasn’t even altogether sure Silvara would allow him to ride him unless she was around; he was sort of stubborn that way.
“How fast can he go?” A satisfactory grin was planted firmly on her face at that. “Fast,” she stressed, by way of explaining. She kept him at an easy trot because of the density surrounding them now, mentally trying to calculate where they might be able to find something clearer. “I think there’s a clearing a little North-Northwest of here,” Regulus continued, echoing her own thoughts. Without reply she smooched to Silvara and his pace picked up, angling between the trees and headed in the appropriate direction. “You’ll enjoy this,” Vas promised, thinking privately that she was probably enjoying it a bit more then he was.

((sorry Reg went off on a tangent))
"See, we're practically the same person," Regulus smiled. "...What do you have against Slytherins anyway? What's wrong with being cunning, and proud of your heritage?" Regulus asked curious as to why Vas seemed so desperate to hid the fact she was nearly put into Slytherin. He assumed he was probably the first person out side of her family to know she had nearly been put into Slytherin. Everyone seemed to have a grudge against the snakes for one reason or another and Regulus was curious as to what Vas could come up with.
More than likely it would be the typical blood purity excuse. The one thing that seemed to allow all others to hate his noble house. There was nothing wrong with wanting to keep pure lineage. Regulus had never really seen wiping out mud bloods or muggles as the answer, which is what he assumed most people thought all Slytherins wanted. Reg merely felt that mudbloods and muggles needed to learn there place. He was tired of having to hid from the non magic, keeping his powers secret because the muggles fear what they don't understand.
The wizard community was so quick to go against killing muggles because it seemed unjust, or unfair and Regulus still agreed that violence should be used only as a last resort, but it was not all that long ago that muggles persecuted the magical. Killing...or at least attempting to kill off wizards and witches, though according to text, the muggles ended up killing more of their own than anything. The intent to kill off magic was still present, and that made the use of violence more than justified in takeover that was to come.
"Oh Vas, you clearly underestimate my magical abilities. But of course without you here I would really have no desire to even attempt to ride this beast," Regulus smirked. He probably could have used some sort of sedation Charm to calm Silvara, then levitate himself onto the horse back...he may need reins, but he was certain he could manage. Of course even if he couldn't Reg wouldn't have admitted so to Vas.
Regulus was rather enjoying himself, despite mild discomfort and the fact that Vas was controlling Silvara and Reg was just along for the ride. He still couldn't really see why Vas would ride Silvara when he assumed she had a perfectly good broom. The ride would be less turbulent and there was little chance your broom would attempt to buck you off, though that wasn't unheard of, and Reg knew a few jinxes that could make a broom do just that. It was still a nice change of pace, but Reg was really desperate to find out how fast, 'fast' was. Not to mention the fact that no restraining devices made it rather difficult to keep balanced on the wide back of Silvara when he was accustomed to a thin broom handle. "We'll see about that," Regulus smirked finally. Fast for him and fast for Vas may end up being to very different things.

OOC: I feel like I’m abandoning all threads, but mind if we end this one? With the Yule Ball in session I think it’s better to put best effort into that then worry over this one. Claim it ended nicely and they went there separate ways?
