Mariella was giggling maniacally in her mind, knowing her little trick had definitely fazed the boy. He looked like a small child that had been given a piece of candy and then shown the bag. Oh, how delightful! She couldn't suppress the soft chuckled that seeped past her lip, Mariella's hand rising to cover her mouth slightly. At the least she was polite enough not to laugh so outwardly at him. Mariella's laugh only increased as she saw him glare at her sweater as if it was public enemy number one. To him, it probably was. Having worn the sweater to keep herself warm, she hadn't completely had the ulterior motive of teasing. A girl did have to keep herself warm, didn't she? Well, she could've simply stayed in Kalib's arms all day and surely she would've been quite warm and content. Then again, she was quite sure that nothing else would've been accomplished that day and their date really wouldn't have been more than a cuddling session and lunch done outdoors. As nice as that sounded, Mariella really hoped for an actual date.
'Why even bring that thing along when you had such a beautiful top hidden underneath? If it was warmth you were concerned with you should know by now I wouldn’t let you get cold.' It was as if Kalib was a mind reader...Mariella knew that wasn't the case, but she couldn't help but smirk at him cutely. "Then this would not have been a date but only cuddling." She said, although he should know by now she never minded cuddling. She enjoyed it so very much, being in his arms, pressed close to him and usually listening to his sweet little compliments. She could give him something to be nice, though. "But later we can cuddle and you can keep me warm, okay? That's only if you'd want to though..." Mariella smirked at him, knowing that he'd say something along the lines of what he'd said before. Why would he object to it? Mariella rolled her wand around in her fingers, swishing her wand slightly to gather all the trash and be rid of it. The pomegranate segments came back together and went back into her bag, a trick Mariella had picked up, something to preserve the fruit while storing it. Looking up from her little cleaning job, she smiled warmly at Kalib.
She was dumbstruck however as her eyes landed upon Kalib pulling his shirt over his head, as if time was slowing as inch by inch of skin was being exposed to her. 'Oh that little....' she cursed in her mind as she watched him, drop the shirt onto the ground. Her eyes stared over his toned an muscled physique, dazed at the full on sight of his torso. She had been used to simply feeling it but to see it in all its glory...she wanted to touch. No! She must resist falling into his trap, she knew that's exactly what he was trying to do. But she really didn't care, she wanted to touch and hold and press herself against it. Oh...why did he have to tease her like this! Breaking her gaze away, she slowly bent down and picked up her broom, placing it over her shoulder. 'You really plan on packing all this stuff up or are we just gunna leave it?' Mariella shrugged her shoulders gently, smirking at Kalib as she sauntered over to him, hips shaking as she stood beside him. "I think we can leave it here, people know not to touch our stuff." She was smirking as she continued walking until she was a bit ahead of him, turning and looking at him and looking him over. Yum...."You ready?" She asked, mounting her broom sidesaddled.

“But later we can cuddle and you can keep me warm, okay? That's only if you'd want to though...” Well, that was one promise he was going to ensure she kept. He figured she was aware of that, continually playing with his mind. It was hard to keep silent, accepting he should let the comment pass; it was much harder then he thought. When that proved impossible, he contented himself with a quick “I thought we already discussed you don’t need to worry yourself over that?” It was meant to be rhetorical, needing no reply. He figured if she needed proof about the matter, he could offer some.
That made him shut up easily enough, trying to weasel out of more boy-toy playings. He knew he very well deserved it, the way he often returned the loving taunts. After all, he consistently reminded himself, he had started all of it. He could have never accepted that little note and turned her down. Vaguely he wondered that had he rejected her, where he would have been now. That turned out to be a mistake – it hurt too much, picturing himself with her.
He watched her pick up, and quickly realized he’d calculated wrong. When Mariella finally looked up at him, her expression was just as he’d predicted it to be, if not better. Kalib had to work hard to keep from laughing at her as she had so teasingly done so to him. It wasn’t his fault she looked the way she did, just as much so that it wasn’t her fault he looked the way he did. It was equal exchange in his opinion, even if he might be cheating just a little bit. No one ever said (and with good reason) that love was fair.
With the decision in place to leave their things where they lay, Mariella waited for no one in mounting her broom. He grinned slightly, always amazed girls could ride sideways. Perhaps it was a balance thing – guys were too bulky to ride side-saddle? He didn’t really care much either way. “You ready?” Kalib fluently mounted his broom, riveting underneath his fingertips, before bothering to answer. “After you,” he smiled, always ready.

'After you' Mariella needed no other queue to take off into the air, beginning a slow ascension into the air, before swirling above Kalib smirking. Mariella smiled as she took in a deep breath her natural instincts of flying kicking in as she casually floated about, knowing that she couldn't show off too much the way she was sitting. She cursed herself silently for picking looking cute over being efficient, but the effects of the outfit really seemed to be worth her having to pass up riding like most did. Looking down at the ground Mariella waved at Kalib before blowing him a kiss. "Come on!"she shouted down at him before flying up even higher, grinning as she felt the wind blowing through her hair. She slowed as she saw Kalib had become smaller, chuckling softly. Flying seemed to bring out a different part of Mariella, making her a bit more childish, more prone to do peculiar things that were probably out of her more mature nature.
Mariella couldn't stop the laugh that bubbled up from her throat, legs bending a bit more as she picked up speed and held onto the broom tighter. Her natural instincts upon the broom were coming out as she soared, just spinning about as she awaited for the arrival of Kalib in the air. She wondered about his flying skill, having never seen them before. She could only believed that they were stupendous, seeing as Kalib knew and understood proper mounting techniques and didn't seem to be apprehensive in the least about taking into the air. A small smile came onto her lips as Mariella slowed to a stop, hovering quite high in the air. it would be a much more romantic thing if she were to be on the back of his broom, much like Muggles rode on the back of bikes or motorcycles like in the movies. Although...like many things that day, there was time for that later, wasn't there?
Swooping down a bit, she waited till she was level with Kalib, winking sweetly at her boyfriend. "Hm, race to the pitch?" she asked before looking over at it. She really didn't wait for his answer before winking at him and soaring towards the pitch. She could feel her hair whip behind her, knowing she was cheating but Kalib could easily catch up. She didn't have the advantage of the proper sitting position to help her have the aerodynamics to keep her going too fast. She slowed to a stop over the pitch, laughing, her eyes sparkling, looking about to see where Kalib was. Had she won, or had he obviously beaten her?

OOC: Hope you don’t mind, but it would be very out of character to allow a girl to beat him; even his girlfriend – his pride is too big for that. XD
Kalib was aware the entire point of bringing along the brooms was to ride them, no merely sit around with them forgotten on the side. But even as he hovered, carefully only a few measly inches off the ground, he couldn’t help but forget his broom for a moment, the urge to fly, as he watched Mariella easily fall into the pattern of flying. It made him curious, for probably the first time that year, about Quidditch. Quite suddenly he was all that much eager for the first game of the season, as far as his knew, that Slytherins would be included. He knew she was on their House team, sometimes denied the pleasure of hogging Mariella to himself because she had to head off to team practice. He had thought about tagging along more then once, just to watch her fly around, but more often then not he used the lonely time to catch up on neglected homework. He was regretting that now, watching her soar around with ease.
“Come on!” Her voice was far away, but crystal clear. He was amazed how easily he could pick up on the sound, so prone to hearing the lovely tune in his ears. But even if he could hear her, she was quickly becoming smaller. That made him annoyed, keeping himself grounded while she escaped his grasp and vision. Kalib had almost made the decision to follow in pursuit when she was suddenly practically eye level, her voice suddenly much louder, all that much sweeter despite the challenge: “Hmm, race to the pitch?” He hadn’t so much as blinked before she was streaking away from him, getting a head start. Kalib’s urge to win and be granted bragging rights was suddenly venomous, consuming him rather foolishly.
In a matter of seconds he was on her tail, passing in something of a blur as he overtook her. Suddenly he liked her skirt much more then necessary, knowing one of the few advantages he had had was the fact that she couldn’t fully throw herself into flying with such attire. He had, thankfully, decided upon something of casual comfort for flying, understanding today was not the day to try and impress (even if he had involuntarily done so anyways with his dirty, shirtless trick). Kalib had managed a small circle to slow himself down, finally at a stand-still at the center of the pitch a halted Mariella, floating below him with grace. He couldn’t help but chuckle, staring down at her for a moment before going in another descending circle to end up beside her. “I win,” he teased, winking at her.

OOC:Hehe, I would expect nothing less of dear Kalib ^-^ Hehe
As Mariella rode she simply felt she was going to win, knowing almost for sure in her heart that she was the victor in this contest. She was a Quidditch player and skirt or no, she still believed that she could beat the boy. She hadn't seen nor been able to assess any of his skills so her cockiness really wasn't unfounded, she couldn't help it. When one had been on the broom as long as she and been influenced by the Slytherin Quidditch team to believe they were the best flyers around, which they were, her inflated ego was quite understandable. Mariella grinned slightly as she knew she would add this little win to the collection as she neared the pitch, grinning in an almost crazed sense. The little chant going in her head really wouldn't help her get out of any insanity pleas. 'I'm going to win! Triunfo! Triunfo!' Hell, she'd probably even do a dance if she could but on a broom with no previous training or attempts to do so, that was quite impossible.
Mariella was shocked however to see a shirtless blur pass her by, pulling the hair that had been flying behind her forward before it whipped back behind her as she bent down more to pick up speed. She could not believe he had passed her! How could she have let him passed her?! She was almost pressed to her broom behind him, not really seeing if she had passed him or not. Without goggles, flying at high speeds really was a pain on the eyes. She just simply knew in her mind she had to be on his tail by now, that she had to be picking up on him. She really couldn't lose this race to him, now could she? This was a competitive side that was kept playful, yet at the same time serious enough at the fact she wanted to beat the boy just to rub it in his face...and maybe extort some sort of prize from it. Well, extortion really wasn't the word, she would've won it fair and square just like people that raced professionally! Just instead of money it'd be something more personal. She didn't know what, just something.
As she slowed to a stop Mariella knew as she searched behind herself that Kalib had won. Cursing under her breath, a playful pout made its way onto her lips. Her bottom lip poked out slightly as she waited for him to reveal his presence. Her peripheral vision caught him as he descended in a small circle, looking at him with a slight smirk. "Hmph...you only won because I'm wearing a skirt...."she muttered softly before reaching out and touching his opposite shoulder gently. "But I guess you do deserve some sort of prize......Hm, so what will it be Mr. Hemlock?" Such a formal calling, but she was just teasing him, curious to see what kind of thing he would pick as his prize. They were as close as broom riders on different brooms could get without colliding, so if a kiss was in order...

Mmm, the look of annoyance planted on her face was priceless Kalib decided with a grin. He had to boast to himself inwardly he’d beaten a Qudditch player, he himself not on the team having never sought that sort of ego. It was a sport, which what was immediately turned him off. He flew strictly for recreational purposes and if he was all of the sudden told to be down at the pitch for practice, it would have never worked out. Sucked all the fun out of it. All the same, he enjoyed watching it played, kept up with all the world teams and where they stood in the runnings for winning. That aside, he knew beating out a QUidditch player gave you bragging rights, and he fully intended on using them when he heard her little remark.
“Oh come on,” he pleaded, suddenly turning the full force of his eyes on her, “Can’t you just accept that I might be a better flyer then you? It’s really not fair for you to take away my fun with silly excuses.” But he knew her skirt had worked towards his advantage, and he knew the in a fair race he just might not have won. He was good, but he wasn’t that good. It was the result of playing with Andy out in the back fields when they were littler, battling it out with an old set of Quidditch balls. They even had a worn out Budgler; it still hurt if it hit you, but the impact was only enough to make you fumble a moment and then get right back on course. Of course, he had always had the upper hand then, being bigger and more experienced then his brother. Well, while he was certain he could out weigh Mariella in muscle, he was willing to bet good money she had more experience then he did. That seemed to balance them out…and her skirt offset the beam. He knew that, and so did she. But he was still going to whine if she protested him bragging.
“But I guess you do deserve some sort of prize... Hmm, so what will it be Mr. Hemlock?” She was suddenly much more professional with him, peering at him with her beautiful eyes locked in curiosity. She seemed to already be aware of the only thing she could probably give him while airborne, very close and practically leaned towards him as to make collecting his prize that much easier. With a quiet smirk and maintained balance, Kalib kissed her gently with a linger of apology tainting his lips, “I’ll let you win next time,” he grinned against her lips before pulling back, a new sense of satisfaction in his expression that had nothing to do with the raced victory.

Mariella was both loathing and loving this moment as he was staring her in the eyes, she still pouting. 'Oh come on' Mariella weakened slightly as she looked at him, just testing what else he had to say. 'Can’t you just accept that I might be a better flyer then you? It’s really not fair for you to take away my fun with silly excuses.' Mariella gasped before sniffing at him, shaking her head hard. Like he could suggest such a thing! He was good, but better? Ha! She wouldn't laugh at him, that was simply rude but Mariella herself knew that if she'd been in a pair of pants, she'd have done laps around him. Maybe that was pushing it a bit, but to brag that he had beaten her and even have the audacity to say he was better? Hmph! Never. She stuck her tongue out at him playfully. "There is simply no way that you are better than me in the flying!"she exclaimed. She wasn't afraid to say it aloud, she could tell by the look in his eyes that he didn't deny it either. He wasn't going to back down with his teasing either...
She continued to stare at him, a smile on her lips as she stared into his dark eyes. Hm, well what kind of things would he pick? He did have options, didn't he...He could make her do plenty of things, probably not anything humiliating since he wasn't that cruel... She could see him begin to lean closer as she had though and soon his lips gently touched hers, she catching the gently lingering upon the kiss. She couldn't help but smile back, softly chuckling at his little 'promise', eyes twinkling happily. She'd never want him to let her win, rather he do his best and let her win fair and square when she had a proper pair of pants on. She nodded her head however, chuckling softly and thanking him for being so sweet to her. As he pulled back, she slowly did a small circle before stopping beside him, head cocking to the side slightly.
"So flyboy, you still up for flying around a bit?" she couldn't help but chuckle at the little flying nickname she had given him. She smirked slightly as she began to circle the pitch a bit, wondering if he would follow her. She continued to fly about and around, a natural thing for a Quidditch player who had been on these fields for what was going on two years. She smiled as she neared the giant House flags, hand reaching out and gently stroking the Slytherin one before she continued around the fields and through the posts. She was kicking her legs, weaving slightly, looking as if she was about to lose control of the broom. However, that wasn't it at all, it was simply something she did when she was bored even though she had fallen backwards the first few times....Smiling at Kalib, she looked at him, curious to see if he wanted to do anything specific.

A deep rumble came from his throat, something between a chuckle and a disapproving grunt. “How could you possibly know that Gorgeous?” Kalib counted, even if he knew she could have easily taken him in proper attire. He kept silent for a moment, letting her think about that one before he let out a sigh of defeat. There was no point trying to act like he was better when she clearer had more talent. The desire to actually see her play in a game wasn’t leaving him now, wondering just how well she did when under pressure instead of racing him around. “Alright,” he huffed, resigned, “So maybe you’re just a teeny bit better then I am.” She’s better be grateful for that – he didn’t like lowering his ego to make someone else happy. He had been accused many times before of having a large head and that someone needed to come along and deflate him; Kalib had never denied it.
Although, he began reflecting for a moment while he waited for an answer, if he would indeed get one at all. Kalib knew over the weeks that had passed their had been subtle differences about him, like how he didn’t seek fights purposefully anymore, or at least not as much; he didn’t talk to a lot of the female population anymore either, his brain constantly always only ever lingering on the one before him now; even, surprisingly enough, he’d noticed his grades creeping upward and passing the Acceptable range. They were all small, practically irrelevant things, but staring back at Mariella he knew the exact reason for the change. Somewhere in his subconscious mind, he’d decided he was going to be a better person for her. Maybe his head was deflating after all.
“So flyboy, you still up for flying around a bit?” He really needed to stop doing that, letting his mind wander when he had someone’s attention to fill. He looked up, watching her fly around with comfort. It was clear she felt at home on the pitch, loving every aspect about it. He couldn’t help admire her for that; that she had something to love to do. As she flew off over by the flag, he lazily pushed himself for and began a few figure eights, slowly transforming into more complicated movements that involved him spinning and flipping and turning upside down for moments at a time. The air felt cool against his exposed skin, making for a nice temperature change. Sometimes his longer strands of hair would peck at his face before being blown back again. All in all, a very relaxing exercise even if it required a steady ounce of balance and a lot of brain work in gravitational forces. Kalib finally slowed, halting off on the northern side of the field opposite to Mariella. For where he floated, she seemed to be watching. With careful ease he sped back over to her, making it across the pitch quickly. He ended up hovering beside her, asking with a smirk “How much trouble do you think we’d get in if we flew around the grounds?”

'How could you possibly know that Gorgeous?' Mariella's eyebrow arched at the question, looking Kalib over as if he was daft. He knew perfectly well why she 'knew'! She was just about to open her mouth to argue her fact before the sigh of defeat escaped Kalib's mouth. A grin began to inch onto her lips as she stared at Kalib, his look of defeat being simply priceless. Well, not for the fact that she had won as most would probably think but this was an expression that she'd never seen of his. She couldn't help but find it almost cute, but she'd never say it aloud. He would probably take it in a demeaning way, and she really didn't want to insult him. 'So maybe you’re just a teeny bit better then I am.' Mariella couldn't help but laugh, covering her mouth quickly before she continued. Cocking her head to the side slightly, letting her hand fall back to the broom handle, Mariella smiled at Kalib before nodding her head. "Thank you...", she said, letting him know that she'd indeed leave it at that and wouldn't make him say anymore. "You are pretty good yourself though..." She winked at him, knowing that she couldn't just leave him thinking that his skills might be mediocre. Blowing a kiss before she took off, Mariella couldn't help but sigh happily. She was so in love with him and all that he did...
She wasn't blind, Mariella could see the small changes that seemed to effect Kalib. She definitely knew he didn't fight as much nor flirt as much, those things both being backed off of. Mariella at times could get a big head and think that it was her that might've been doing this for him. Maybe...she was helping? No the was a conceited thought. Could she really make that much change in a man, especially one that was as stubborn as he? Well, it was an appealing thought...Their relationship had started as a rendezvous that turned into her being a kind of 'mistress', a secret kept from his girlfriend. After the tremendous falling out however...he seemed to have changed. He didn't try and draw in lots of girls as he normally had, nor did he flirt and tease them and such. He was just not as...well, Mariella didn't know how to define it.
Mariella grinned as she slowed to a stop, seeing Kalib getting closer and closer before fanning her fingers at him in a wave. 'How much trouble do you think we’d get in if we flew around the grounds?' Mariella's eyes lit up, a smirk growing on her lips. "I don't think we'd get into too much....if they didn't catch us!"she exclaimed. That was true. If no one caught them, they really couldn't get anything but a scolding if their faces were seen and even then, they didn't care. Grinning widely at Kalib, she slowly began to float off, seeing if he would speed ahead of her or continue at her slow pace. "Well, let us test the waters flyboy..."

OOC: *Locates muse* Okay, whew! Sorry that took forever and a day!
“Mmm, don’t fool yourself into thinking I’m going to let you lead me around,” he chuckled, flashing his teeth in a grin before taking off ahead of her. He didn’t bother to check that she was following, knowing she would and would do so with grace. He needn’t worry about her skill in flying, whether she could keep up – heck if she really wanted to, she could probably beat him. Hadn’t they just decided that while his mannerism when flying wasn’t anything to be ashamed of, yet somehow she could outdo him if she really put herself into the challenge? No, he needn’t worry – there was no point. And it was that thought that made his speed increase, leaving his exposed torso casting over in a layer of soft cold. He didn’t mind – it was worth if it he could keep catching her eyeing him.
And so Kalib flew, letting himself wind between the pointy top of the castle – high enough to not be seen through students lazily gazing out the windows mind you. There was nothing up here, except perhaps the occasional owl flying right on by. Apparently it didn’t faze them in the least to see something bigger then themselves flying around up here. Of course, Kalib had done this once before – during the first few days of school, when he’d been mentally mapping out the grounds. That’s how he knew where he was going, knew where he was leading her. It wouldn’t be a long stop mind you, they’d come out here to fly and that’s what he intended on doing – after he showed his newly discovered hideout.
Kalib began descending on the southern side, keeping the view purposefully hidden until he landed upright on the roof. A few of the pieces cracked beneath his feet, old and worn. Casting his broom over his shoulder he faced the correct way, teetering on the point of the roof where the two sides came together. The view was laid over the lake, glimmering from the growing sunlight above. Students were beginning crowd the grounds, glad to have some warmth of the afternoon. He grinned, watching a moment before Kalib glanced over his shoulder, finally checking Mariella was still there. “Beautiful, don’t you think? Although it stills pales next to you,” he added rather conversationally – it was almost pure habit for him now, giving her small compliments. He liked making her smile.

OOC:It's okay! ;D
'Mmm, don’t fool yourself into thinking I’m going to let you lead me around' Of course, Kalib was not one to simply be led around like a dog on a leash. That was...unless she was presenting something as some form of bribery. Although, Mariella's mind drifted to a thought of Kalib dressed in a collar, taking orders like a good dog...well maybe less of a dog and more of a personal servant. The evil smirk and little glint in her eyes told almost anyone she wasn't thinking of tea time and biscuits. Her thoughts were more along the lines of making Kalib use his extensive knowledge of how to make her feel good. Of course she would never have to order him to do that seeing as Kalib always was a perfect gentlemen and always seemed to be able to read her mind when it came to these things. So orders were really not needed when it came to the boy...not to mention she highly doubted the boy would ever simply bend to her every whim and will like that...That did sound like a wonderful challenge in her mind though, one she would probably wage only in her mind and never try and actually see what kind of outcome would ensue with taking control of him. Not to mention, she loved him much too much to take such advantage of him.
With all this wandering of the mind, she had begun to lag behind her eyes widening as she suddenly sped up to catch up with the boy. She couldn't help but make a peculiar sound, an odd combination of a purr and a growl. This was the sound of her delighted frustrations. He was ahead of her, and shirtless, something that was done almost to say 'Just look at how sexy I am'. Yet at the same time, she couldn't help but agree with that teasing message he exuded, simply loving to look at his absolutely delicious body. That, however, was probably just what he wanted, her staring at him in such a manner. Mariella's mind however had to be pulled from the distraction of gazing upon Kalib as he began to weave between the sharp tower points. She began to make the weaves, dunking out of the way of owls delivering parcels and simply enjoying the leisurely ride. Although, by the way Kalib was moving it seemed that their ride was going to be cut a little short.
She was only a few seconds behind him as he mad the slow descent to the roof tip, her head cocking to the side slightly. Whatever could he be up to, stopping here? As she drifted a few feet from the ground, she made a smooth drop from her broom to the ground, the broom being held behind her. She was behind him, her view slightly blocked by his tall height although she looked around him eyes lighting up and grinning as she took a few steps forward till she was next to him. She looked out on the sight, her lips slightly parted, eyes staring out at the beautiful sight that he had presented to her. "Hermoso....."she murmured softly before blushing at Kalib's comment. "You really spoil me with all these comments...." A smile slowly painted itself onto her lips as she looked at him before gently hooking her arm with his. "Hmm, I love you...."

In the brief moment that he had to himself, Kalib’s mind wandered quickly – it was becoming a rather bad habit of his. Somehow life right now was too perfect, and it seemed that somewhere in the shadows something bad was just waiting for the opportune moment and lash out, stealing away his happiness. It wasn’t so hard to believe he’d landed himself with someone like Mariella, having accepted a while ago now that she really was his – for the moment. So maybe their little love story couldn’t last forever, he knew it couldn’t and most likely wouldn’t, but that didn’t stop him from relishing in the fact that for whatever it was worth, as much as she was his, he was hers. It was that fact that had been harder to accept. He was taken; he was being good. He was going about this correctly. Smugly the little monster in him reappeared, growling against the restraints that had been placed upon it. But did he really consider Mariella a restraint? That seemed a bit harsh, and he knew that certainly wasn’t the case.
Quite abruptly his own lashing words rippled through his mind when his gaze rested upon the Owlery, a word from the wise, he had said, guys don’t like being held on tight leashes… Suddenly he was reliving that horrible day, and Annette was staring at him in plain shock and anger, it’s only more of an incentive to break away… From the rooftops he watched it play out, both yelling and screaming their frustrations out on the other. No more leash, she had growled, enjoy yourself Kalib… The tone in her voice had made it sound like ‘have a nice life’ and it confused him to realize that hurt. He couldn’t deny he still had feelings for her, but the ones he had for Mariella overpowered them greatly. He was enjoying himself, and he was having a nice life – but what about her? He had been careful to keep his distance; he had no clue how Annette was doing. But why did it matter if he knew or not? If he was being honest with himself, it’s because he wanted to know that his decision had been better for both of them. Kalib wasn’t good for her; he wanted to know she was happy with someone else. Kalib was happy with Mariella – his bliss beyond measure – but where was Annette? Alone and still weeping over him, or was she outside too, enjoying the day with someone new?
“I love you…” Kalib blinked, drifting from his nightmare back to reality. How long had she been talking? Guilt instantly washed over him, realizing he’d involuntarily ignore her. I love you. He wrapped his mind around that concept, absorbing it. I’m in love. But was Annette in love? Or was she still heart broken? Had someone been able to help her pick up the pieces? Or had he left her in so many pieces that she was beyond repair? More confusion entered him, realizing that the guilt he felt was also for Annette. Why did he care?! “You’re more then I deserve,” he managed to reply, a seriousness inching into his tone that he had meant to leave out. There really was a monster in him, a bad monster: a selfish creature that only worried about his own needs. Up until now he had been doing a good job at not thinking about his last break up, but all of the sudden it seemed rather important. Instinctively he tightened her hold, kissing her hair gently. “You can’t even imagine how hard I’ve fallen.” Kalib closed his eyes, breathing in her fragrance. But it was all he was going to say on the matter, not wanting to ruin their day with his insignificant thoughts. He opened his eyes and sighed contently, “Ready to keep going?”
OOC: I figured it was about time for poor Kalib to start his suffering. *Evil chuckle* ;-]

As Mariella stood there looking at him, she couldn't help the overwhelming feeling that he really didn't know that she was there. He seemed to be getting trapped in his thoughts, something that had become a regular occurrence that day. She couldn't help but feel a little annoyed at the fact that he kept zoning out on their date. Although, concern overwhelmed that annoyance and even something else beat out her concern. Curiosity. Whatever could he be thinking about...? What was so trying, weighing so much on his mind that he couldn't even stay focused? Biting her bottom lip gently, she knew better than to simply ask, for that would put him in an awkward situation. She would just...leave him be...let him think and allow him to go through whatever he was going through. She could only express how much she loved him, and hope through that he would hear that whatever was so trying, it got better. It seemed though...that her saying 'I love you' brought up some form of guilt in him. She could see it in his face, that being one of the things that she hadn't missed. Why was he guilty....?
'You’re more then I deserve' The serious tone in his voice seemed to strike her, a slight flick to her brain. Was...he thinking about Annette....? Was this day bringing up old memories...memories of her? Mariella felt her heart sink, her stomach drop at that thought. How often did she visit his memories, how often had she reminded him of her...? Maybe this was just the first time, or maybe this was just the first time she saw it....As Kalib pulled her closer though, her eyes shut and she took a deep breath. She was breathing out the bad thought and simply relaxing. 'You can’t even imagine how hard I’ve fallen' Those words and that kiss, put her heart at rest...for now. She didn't want these thoughts on her mind at this moment, she wanted to enjoy her day with Kalib, to enjoy his company and to enjoy the love the two held for one another. She couldn't let those thoughts pollute their day, pollute her how happy she had been just mere moments before hand. She knew he loved her and he loved him, so there was no point in worrying over his old relationship.
'Ready to keep going?' Mariella smiled wide at him before nodding her head. She was very ready to go, ready to fly and leave the bad thoughts behind. Although, she did want to do one thing before she left. Taking a small step back, she grinned up at him before looking at him with a loving gaze. Standing up straighter, she stood on the tips of her toes, gently pressing her lips to his in a chaste kiss. She absolutely adored the feeling of his lips on hers, they being surprisingly soft and controlled compared to some other guys. Not to mention every kiss they had, had that special spark, something that intensified every time their lips touched. Pulling away, she smiled at him before slowly mounting her broom sidesaddle. Grinning, she slowly began to float upward, slowly motioning with her finger for him to follow her. "Come on flyboy..." she chuckled softly as she slowly began to float away.

Silently Kalib cussed a string of profanities, angry at himself for allowing the memory to slip into his mind. Really, what was his problem? With Mariella wrapped within his arm what did it matter who else had stood there once before? The past was the past and there just really wasn’t anything you could do about it. It was like some bad Muggle movie, learn from your mistakes. Was his life really just some bad, horribly-gone-wrong sitcom? Sadly it almost seemed likely…and that didn’t help much. Really, it only brought him a small sense of wallowing – he was a bad sitcom. Where was the pride and glory in that? There was none at all.
His train of thought raced right back to Mariella when she moved, pulling away enough to watch him, to look at him, to seek out what was bothering him without words and yet, at the same time, comfort him from what she didn’t know. It shocked him, the sense of connection between them as did it every time. He wouldn’t ever get used to having someone know him so well. He gazed back at her all the same, trying to express what he couldn’t say aloud. He was okay; he wasn’t going to ignore her anymore. Mariella was Kalib’s soul purpose for being alive today, and he had to let her know that. Today was about her. Them. It thrilled him, silently thinking about it. Us. And her lips, so soft and gentle, her familiar movements making him feel like home. It took less then nothing for him to respond, easier then breathing, crafting his lips into hers. “More then I deserve,” he muttered again as she pulled back and a new warmth lighting his eyes. Today was about her; them – he didn’t have to think about her any longer. Not today. Today was for his girlfriend, not his ex.
In was in that frame of mind he let her move away, swinging neatly onto her broom and drifting a few feet off the roof they’d landed upon. “Come on flyboy.” Kalib smirked and remounted, already hovering beside her. “You don’t have to tell me twice,” he chuckled, though a new curiosity clouded his tone. “Are we playing follow-the-leader again?” he teased, wondering if she had a new destination in mind. As Mariella inched away, he added with a grin “After you then.” It still sounded like a question, still half-heartedly guessing on if she really had a plan or not. And then after a moment, “We will make it there sometime today, won’t we?” Another soft snicker.

Mariella's eyes glittered with happiness as she stared at him, receiving the message that he had been trying to convey to her. She lived only for the fact that he was here. That was how in love she was with him, this is how deeply in love they were. She also wanted to let him know, anytime he needed an open ear, even if she was his girlfriend, she'd tried to help and get her opinion unbiased. Of course, Mariella probably didn't know how impossible that feat would be able to be pulled off, but hell for him she would definitely try. Tingles just seemed to embrace her like a sweet paralysis, making her want nothing more than his lips on hers, her body not wanting to move from that spot. However, she knew that they couldn't stand there all day and kiss...Well, they could but that would still not be a very interesting date. Not to mention, she wanted to show him something that proved to mesmerize her when she first saw it. 'More then I deserve' That comment seemed to ring with a double meaning in her ears, a compliment yet a unsureness on his part. Did he really believe that or were they just words used to flatter her? She couldn't be quite sure...but she really didn't want to assess it now.
'You don’t have to tell me twice' Mariella was surprised to see the boy now right beside him, he near instantly hovering right beside her. She nodded her head to his comment before sticking her tongue out at him in a silent pout. 'We will make it there sometime today, won’t we?' "Why of course we will...if you can keep up that is..."Her eyes were beginning to glimmering mischievously as she began to pick up speed, creating a distance between the two. She was sure he'd be able to fill it in no time flat, she just wanted to tease him a bit. She was gliding smoothly in her speed, leaning back slightly and allowing herself to curve a bit. Hm, well she was supposed to be going to the lake, but a scenic route was in order. She curved easily about the high towers, just above windows. If anyone was sticking their heads out though, they might've caught an interesting panty shot. Although, most knew better than to gossip about something like that. She was Kalib's girl and she highly doubted either of them would tolerate such slandering of names.
Grinning as she made her way about the school's towers, she could see that the image of the lake was gaining on them. Grinning back at Kalib, she slowly began to arch downward, her broom following with her. By the time she was near the middle of the lake her fingers gently grazed the surface. She knew better than to linger too close to the water too long for she knew that the creatures that lived there weren't too kindly to land dwellers. She, almost instantly, took a sharp angle and was in the air again, a laugh following her. She was having such fun! Glancing back to see if Kalib was still near her, she began to slow before coming to a complete stop, still over the lake. She was curious of something. "Kalib...you want to stay in the air or do you want to put this date back on solid ground?" She was merely asking because she could fly for hours without really knowing it and she wanted to try her little exploration again...
