(let me know if we aren't supposed to start roleplaying yet, I'm not sure so I thought I would give it a go)
Indi stepped lightly down the steps and into the courtyard. She hadn't seen the school for a summer, and everything looked different to her. In fact it was probably all exactly the same, but being gone for a few months can mess up your preception. Her feet treaded across the grass instead of the cobblestone, taking a shortcut to one of the benches. Indigo walked with her toes pointed out, a subtle sign that she had been in years of dancing. Sitting down she crossed one leg over the other.
Running her hands through her hair she watched as excited first years ran around, playing games and giggling. Raising a single eyebrow she shook her head lightly, her long brown hair moving gently from side to side. Classes hadn't started up yet and the girl was bored. Indigo wasn't one who really made that many friends due to her lack of effort in it. She was a bit brisk with most Gryffindors who past her way.
Thinking she might as well get comfortable she laid down on her stomach on the bench, a piece of paper and a quill before her. She had no idea what she was going to write. Indigo communicated with one of her muggle friends who was in the "circus" with her. She missed her, and if you asked Indi she would say she was definitely the ONLY one she missed. With the start of a school year you had a lot to think about. A formal dance was coming up but she didn't take much thought to it. Indigo loved boys to be sure, but right now she wasn't really entranced by any of them. They all had girlfriends, what was up with that?

Alanah's shiny ebony hair played gently across her face, briefly hiding her features and then revealing them again. A bag was slung over her shoulder, stuffed with books, parchment, quills, and ink bottles. They had only been at Hogwarts a few days and already the teachers were giving them piles and piles of homework. The precious free time she had was devoted to completing assignments, and she blessed the extra time she had to work. All of her House worked in kind, and Alanah felt sure that the other Houses were the same. Despite this, though, there was something that kept her going. Quidditch. The prospect that she would finally be able to play real games - not mock games with Sirius and her brothers - against real opponents, enemies even, made her heart pound thinking about it. Alanah had been on her House team for a long time, but had been practicing with her brothers even longer. Sirius, too, but he was a Beater, and it was quite easy for the lighter sixth year to defeat him. When the season started up, she was determined to be the most eager and the most determined of all her teammates.
When she was in her seventh year and Vonna would be elsewhere, Alanah wished to become Captain, although it wasn't her who made the decisions. Dylena was a good choice, Alanah thought guiltily, her stomach churning, and Andromeda too, but still, she couldn't help but dream about becoming Captain of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team and holding the Quidditch Cup above her head for all to see, held by her teammates. Alanah smiled slightly. They were just dreams, but she wouldn't give up hope. Her steps slowed as she entered the courtyard, her bag digging into her shoulder painfully, but Alanah made no sign it gave her discomfort. She glanced around, spotting several students standing in small huddles about the courtyard. Why was she here? She found it was much easier to study here than it was in the warm, stuffy Ravenclaw common room. The breeze was cool, but not cold, just the right temperature. Suddenly, Alanah's sharp brown eyes, like a hawk's, spotted a single student sitting on a bench. She didn't recognize her, but that didn't stop her from trying to be friendly.
Hitching her bag into a more comfortable position, Alanah trudged toward her, quickly making out her features and the emblem on her cloak. So she was from Gryffindor, was she? Sirius had told her many stories about the attractive girls in his House - at the same time eyeing her up with a grin on his face - and it seemed this one fit his idea of a perfect pretty girl quite nicely. Alanah had seen her in classes, and she knew her name, but that was pretty much it. Plastering a smile on her face, she turned around and sat down beside her, taking her bag off her shoulder and placing it on the ground. Alanah's eyes searched her face quickly before she spoke. "You're Indigo, right?" She didn't bother to introduce herself, preferring to not let the girl know if she was a stuck-up snob. And if she really wanted to know, she'd ask. Alanah wouldn't make her job any easier than it was.

She kicked her feet back and forth, a slight look of frustration penetrating her face. Indigo didn't know what to tell her friend. She knew Indigo was a witch, and as dangerous as that might be she didn't care at all. He friend was precious to her, and it hardly mattered whether or not she knew of her wareabouts. She was perhaps, safe to say, one of the only people she had ever trusted. Brushing back the hair that constantly took place on her face she put the quill to the paper and stopped again. Blah.
There was too much noise. That had to have been it. Maybe she should save it for another day, like when it rained. How she loved when it rained. And in that way, people wouldn't be outside. Now there was only the slight problem that the ink would get wet and run down the paper.....Indi was sure there was a spell for that. Chewing on the feather its self she spat when she realized what she was doing. Hearing someone taking place beside her she sat up, really no other choice to give her more room. Glancing at her once her wardrobe immediately told her she was a Ravenclaw. Indigo didn't give Ravenclaws much grief, seeing as she partly though she herself should have been placed in that house. Shows how much the sorting hat really knows.
"Yes" She answered bluntly and with a briskness to it. It's not that she hated the girl, she simply judged people straight off. Unfortunately today was not one of the days that she was very clear minded and it was hard to tell what type of character this girl was. "How do you know?" Indi studied her face, she knew it well though she'd never really talked to the other girl. She knew faces forever once she saw them, but names, she was always at a loss. Looking her over Indi brushed the hair away once more and waited for an answer, surprisingly.

Alanah just then noticed the parchment and quill in Indi's lap, blank. Obviously she had been writing and the Ravenclaw had interrupted her, but she didn't seem to have any hard feelings. Yet. Alanah cursed herself at this stupid mistake, but knew it would be pointless to back away now. It would make her seem like a shy little girl in the eyes of the Gryffindor, and seeing as one of her best friends was in that House, she didn't want that to happen. Moving a lock of jet-black hair out of her eyes, Alanah's eyes met Indi's and she listened to what the Gryffindor had to say. Surprisingly, she didn't bother asking for a name. Either she knew the Ravenclaw's name already, or she was more complex than she looked. Alanah somehow suspected the latter. She wasn't the greatest judge of character, but this girl intrigued her, somehow. Maybe it was she did what Alanah wasn't expecting, or because she didn't seem to be too angry with her. Either way, the Ravenclaw was determined to get to know her better after her initial prejudice.
Alanah tugged at her cloak, its warmth making her slightly uncomfortable but not enough to make her take it off. The cool breeze on her face felt wonderful to her, a reminder of what was to come. Though it was nothing like the feeling of being high above the earth with nothing but a broomstick to support you, whipped by wind and weather, it did its part in satisfying her impatience for a bit. Alanah glanced at Indi, her hands clenching the bench, and commented carelessly, as if it really didn't matter - but of course it did - "We've been in classes, haven't we? I don't think we've been properly introduced, however..." Her voice trailed away, always using the vocabulary that came with being a Ravenclaw. It was a habit that most carried throughout their lives, and if anyone dared make a mocking comment about it Alanah would explode in their faces. On rare occasions this egged them on even more, but most of the time it made them stop for good. They'd better.
Alanah squinted up at the sky, the sun blazing down from up high, bent down, fished in her bag for something, found it, and sat back up again. She glanced carefully at the full ink bottle beside Indi and set her one beside it, deciding that it was best to be generous than completely self-contained. Anyway, she hadn't written anything, so Alanah had reason to assume her ink was dry or something like that. It was more likely that she had no idea what to write, but it didn't matter much. No point in being rude. "Here," Alanah told Indi, "a fresh ink bottle. In case your's has run out." She cast a pointed glance in the direction of the paper before turning away and humming softly to herself. One ear was pricked to hear what Indi had to say about this, and whether or not she'd do anything Alanah expected her to do.

The girl almost seemed to be watching Indigo as much as she watched her. Indi locked stares with her for a moment before glancing away, tracing her fingers across the cold metal bench. It suddenly became dark with heavy clouds, though she knew it wouldn't rain as she had wished. Soon the clouds would pass and the blasted sun would shine all too happily again. After writing her letter she'd planned to sit down in the common room and read a book called "Exotic magical creatures of the century." Apparently the book had been banned from normal reading and sent to the forbidden section, which is why she simply picked up a copy before heading to Hogwarts.
As the girl's strike for conversation lit, it made something finally become aware to Indi. Click. "And you're Alanah Iresol, 6th year, Ravenclaw. You were in my potions class last year, I usually sat behind you." Indigo smiled a little, when she knew she knew. Still, she knew very little about the girl except that she was intelligent and caught on quickly, which wasn't really surprisingly considering the stereotype on her particular house. Watching as the girl pulled out another ink bottle which Indi seriously had no need of, she actually smiled.
You have to remember, her choice of friends was almost solely completed with boys. There were few girls she saw fit to get along with so she never bothered. However, the girl was being nice, for now, but she didn't seem completely defenseless. That was the type of person she could deal with. "Thanks." Her hand came out and she picked it up to place on top of the parchment, pocketing the other in her small handbag. "But as you can see." She looked at her paper and held it up with a smirk. "My ability to function today is seriously lacking."

'Ah! She finally cottoned on, did she?' Alanah never meant that as a rude remark, just very blunt. Of course, it was inside her own head, but the fact that Indi finally made an effort to see who she was made her smile. The Ravenclaw nodded slightly, the small smile on her face. She glanced up, and was surprised to see that clouds had scutted over the sun briefly, dulling the light and making the courtyard seem less bright. Alanah glanced sideways at Indi, wondering what she would think of this new development, but could not decipher anything from her impassive stare. Apparently she was determined not to let anyone know what she was thinking. Most of the time. Alanah watched her for a bit until the lock-jawed look eased into a smile at her attempt to be friendly. The Ravenclaw winked at Indi and yawned widely, putting her hands behind her head. This was a habit she had learned from Sirius: Act cool, and be cool. Not that she really followed his advice; anyway, Alanah wasn't trying to be cool.
Her chocolate-brown gaze flashed to the parchment Indi indicated. Alanah nodded slightly and let her hands drop. She ran her hand over the hard metal surface of the bench for a moment, wincing as she felt her callused hands pass over the crude surface, every prick and dent in the metal particularly sensitive to her, being used to the knotted feel of wood. "I can see that. So is something bothering you, or are you just feeling unimaginative?" An onlooker might have winced at Alanah's directness. Usually most people would be more tactful, but the Ravenclaw wasn't afraid of the negative ripples her actions caused on people. After all, other people's opinions weren't her first interest, and besides, they shouldn't have a problem with her in the first place. Indi didn't seem to be like that, but you never knew. Alanah nodded thoughtfully to herself, lost in her thoughts.
There was one face, though, that kept intruding on her mind, however much she attempted to hide it. Sirius. Though they were best friends and Alanah would never want to harm their friendship in anyway, lately, her feelings had changed for him. She had a crush on him. Who didn't? But this one was more personal. Every time she saw him, she felt sudden urges, urges she had never experienced before and didn't want to. But she couldn't ignore it. It was too glaringly obvious for her to. At least Sirius hadn't noticed. At least, she hoped he hadn't. She'd always had a crush on him, but it was more of a dream thing, and they were close friends anyway. But now... Alanah shook these troubling thoughts from her mind. Now was not a time to examine them. Her gaze shifted, and she locked gazes with Indi, not daring to look away in case she came face to face with him. And waited for her to say something.

It was simply almost impossible to decipher what this Ravenclaw was thinking at times, and that nagged at a girl like herself. However, she wouldn't be troubled with studying her too much when she was in a direct conversation already. Most people would consider that staring and rather startling. Indigo looked upward for a moment as a ray of sun shone through the supressive clouds and down on them and the courtyard around. A frown threatened to crease the sides of her face but she supressed it to a tight-lipped expression instead. The light lightened her hair as well, making the aburn highlights stand out more clearly. That didn't sit too well with Indigo, as she wished her hair was black. Her favorite color for one reason or another. Ha. Her comment didn't faze the girl at all, in fact it gave her a smirk of acknowledgement. So far, Alanah was ok in her book. Beating around the bush was a trait that neither of them shared. "I think both. Unimaginative because being out of school for a few months has put me out of practice, and bothered because the school doesn't seemed to have changed a bit and neither have the people." What her inference was it was hard to tell, but judging by what you said you could tell that she wasn't too keen on the students here. Much better than anywhere else, but teenagers seemed so, inmature. Wishful thinking that things would be different, but as much as Indigo tried, she couldn't get any more friendly. Immediately she noticed the very subtle change in Alanah and knew her thoughts were else where. She was good with catching things, even the slightest change in emotion. The key was to follow their eyes. A person could have a beautifully calm exposure all around, but their eyes never lied. Indigo pulled at her quill and began to write something in a sharp, feminine, cursive scrawl. Dear Jennica,
All is well at school this year, things haven't changed a bit." She dipped her quill again. Keep a steady hand and a quick mind, and get out of there" She dipped again. as soon as you can. I'm already busy with work, and am short on time. Keep in good health,
with love, Indi She set the quill down and shrugged her small shoulders. "Simple and to the point."

Alanah smiled slightly when she saw a frown quivering on Indi's lips, but she quickly turned it into an impassive expression. It was fairly clear to the Ravenclaw that Indi didn't like others knowing what she was thinking, so Alanah, out of politeness, didn't observe anything. She glanced up and noticed the ray of sunshine piercing the courtyard, illuminating her raven-black hair with a splotch of light. She tossed her head restlessly and fingered the clasp of her cloak, once again full of wistful thinking about Quidditch, and flying in the open air. Too bad she'd have to wait a few more weeks till the season started. Alanah sighed silently, her mind on more than just broomsticks. His face kept looming out of the darkness... 'Stop it!' she told herself crossly. 'He's your friend, not someone to fawn over!' She shook her head violently to clear her head of such nonsense and then looked sheepishly at Indi. It was at the moment that she started talking, so Alanah hoped she hadn't noticed anything. She smoothed her cloak self-consciously with one hand before replying.
"No practice over the summer, eh?" Alanah smirked a bit at the thought of not doing any homework over the summer months. "I can see what you mean. No one does anything different, except that everyone's a year up. But Hogwarts has been like this for centuries, and I don't think this year is going to make much of a difference." She brushed a spot of dust from her cloak and smoothed it out again. Her meticulous care of her wardrobe came from years of her parents reminding her over and over again that health and filth didn't mix. Her mother worked at St. Mungo's, though, so what did you expect? It was no surprise her daughter would feel the same way. Alanah found she was fingering the clasp of her cloak again. Feeling bothered by more than just that, she let her hand drop, and told herself sternly that she shouldn't be worrying about anything just now. Alanah glanced at Indi and with some surprise found her writing on her once blank piece of parchment.
Peering over the Gryffindor's shoulder, the Ravenclaw quickly read it and glanced at Indi with some amusement in her gaze at the girl's comment. "That's how we like it. No long lectures here, now. Who are you writing to, by the way?" Alanah added abruptly, just remembering to ask the question. She wondered if Indi had an owl. She didn't seem to be the type that would keep an animal. If she didn't, Alanah had her own, Verity, that was currently off duty. So long as the housekeeper didn't think that she was sending Dungbombs off in the mail, it should be fine. Alanah squinted over Indi's shoulder at the Owlery tower, looming high overhead, seeming as distant as the moon. Lucky the Ravenclaws got a tower to themselves so Alanah wasn't afraid of heights. But if she was, why would she be playing Quidditch? She'd have to be very dull, at the least.

The many expressions on Alanah's face made Indigo smile. Clearly she was thinking about a boy. That was the only reason a girl got such a look about her, that dreamy stare. Furthermore Indi assumed she was frustratd as well. But then, that was just her opinion, just because she was usually right. "No practice at all, I've really been far too busy. Planting trees and all that" Indigo's face was perfectly serious, for that's part of what she really did. Picking up a flower that was laying on the ground she slowly picked off the petals one by one.
"I wouldn't be so sure" She comented simply. "This year is just...different. Not yet of course, but I have a feeling the Hogwarts is going to have a way of changing whether it wants to or not. Too many rumors are circling the wizarding world." She of course read up on all the papers as well as the muggle ones, so Indigo had a keen idea as to what was going on. Seeing as it was her second to last year Indi was already trying to make plans for the future. She didn't know what to do yet, she almost thought of applying to be a Dinvintation instructor at one of the magic schools. She hated the subject with a passion, but given her background it was to be expected, and Indi was excellent in it. She knew a lot, and I mean a lot about it.
Indigo found herself laughing softly at the girl's answer to her letter as she rolled it up and tied a piece of silk around it. Her friend stopped finding her way of delievering and the paper shew used weird, she'd just gotten used to it. "My friend, she is..." She dropped her voice, too tired for conflict with anyone near by. "A muggle. She's always travelling so sending by owl is the easiest way." Indi placed a kiss at the seal, leaving a perfect lip mark of dark red across it. It was her signature. Suddenly she let out a light whistle, an interesting and short tune. The flapping of wings were suddenly heard as her gray owl swooped down and landed exactly on her finger. Unfazed she fed him a treat and put the letter in its grasp. "Good Rebel." She stroked his fur. His name rather contradicted itself, seeing as it appeared to be the most obedient owl you'd ever laid eyes on. "Off you go" Indigo actually kissed her bird on the beak as he flew off for flight.

Alanah whistled a tune under her breath, something she'd heard from the Wizarding radio and tapped the bench underneath her fingers in time to the beat. Then she stopped sheepishly and offered Indi a wry smile before placing her offending hands in her lap and gazing at the Gryffindor attentively. Her brow furrowed at the thought of anyone planting trees or bushes in their yard over the summer. Her parents did tend a garden, but they never expected Alanah to do any work for it. She had schoolwork as well as helping take care of the house and watching Claude when they were both away - which was often. Alanah had never displayed any interest in it and since Claude was an avid lover of any kind of plant (and loved to dig up earthworms and hurl gnomes over his head while he was at it) she let him do the work. Alanah helped with the gnomes but that was about it. Lazy bum, wasn't she?
The Ravenclaw's attention was suddenly diverted from this interesting topic by the words Indi spoke. Alanah couldn't lie to herself; she had been thinking this year was going to be different. Not in the education field, but as in the Wizarding world. Rumors of the Dark Lord Voldemort had been circulating for a long while now. Alanah's club, FFF, was now designed not only to teach other students advanced magic, but also to help them prepare against the growing threat and perhaps do something about it. The Ravenclaw's eyes met Indi's fully for perhaps the first time, and she spoke. "You know, I've been thinking exactly the same thing, though if I was true to myself I wasn't thinking it would affect Hogwarts. There have been -" at this Alanah lowered her voice warily so no one could over hear "-disappearances. Only a few, but it's enough to make people get their guard up. And these rumors about a powerful Dark wizard on the move aren't helping matters. I don't know what's happening or what's out there, but one thing you and I know for certain is that - you're right and I'm wrong - something's changing."
Alanah glanced around to make sure no one had overheard and quickly straightened up. The first years, oblivious to the two sitting quietly on the bench, continued to run and shriek with naught a care in the world. The sixth year couldn't remember the time when she was like that. Alanah realized suddenly that she and Indi had been thinking along the same lines, though at first the Ravenclaw hadn't been thinking about outside Hogwarts. She clenched the bench nervously. It was very true what she had said. If the rumors were to be believed, however, not even the spells Alanah had learned in the Restricted Section and other places would be able to help her and her friends if they did indeed come face to face with the one who fancied himself Lord Voldemort.

Oh, she figured Alanah thought she was an odd one. Not that she cared, many people either thought that or else she was secretive and a snob. She perferred that everyone just thought her weird. At the mention of the dark lord Indi's ears perked up. The girl seemed to know a lot about what was going on, and seeing as she was often blocked from any sort of information in the summer, she paid special attention. Indigo liked to know what was up at all times, and what was being done. "Disappearances?" Indigo eyed her, how she learned so much she had know idea. Probably from the Daily Prophet, something her father hid after he finished reading it every day.
"Are a certain group of people being targeted or is just random?" Come on she had to know, disturbing or not people ought to know the facts. Anyways, she could take whatever came her way, she wasn't a meek person. No one else was paying attention, and as far she was concerned it wouldn't matter either way. People would learn all about it eventually no matter what their year in school was. It was a dark subject to be sure, and she had the feeling it would only get worse from here on out.
Shifting in her chair as she watched her prized owl fly out of site, Indigo turned her eyes back to Alanah again. "Maybe someone should do something. Teach us more than what we usually learned in DADA. Something we can use if we need to be protected." It was a thought, they learned a lot as it was and that would be an awfully big load, but the constant threat loomed closer. And as it was, there was a different force in this school that almost seemed to be working with the dark lord.

Alanah blinked at Indi's sudden question. Whatever she had been expecting, it certainly hadn't been that. More likely, Alanah would have thought she would have asked something less intelligent. Obviously this Gryffindor could think, unlike Sirius and James. The Ravenclaw preferred speaking to people who actually thought about their conversation and contributed to it in an intelligent way instead of throwing questions out into the thick of it and not really caring about them, or else they had not listened before. She rapped her fingers on the hard metal surface of the bench again in a thoughtful way, trying to think of the best way to phrase her answer. She had no idea if Indi was Muggle-born, half-blood, or pure-blood, and nor did she care, but Alanah didn't know if she would take offense about what she would say. Well, it was best to take risks than not doing anything for fear of the consequences. Besides, what fun would life be without a little risk involved?
"Actually, there are," Alanah began, clearing her throat slightly. "Mostly Muggle-borns have been disappearing, and Muggles as well. Even a few half-bloods have vanished." She glanced significantly around her, making sure no one had heard. The first-years still shrieked and ran around the courtyard, not caring for the older students' talk. The rest of the students who had managed to catch a respite from the hectic bustle of classes stood in huddles around the courtyard, not bothering the other students. Alanah nodded in satisfaction and turned back to Indi. She herself was a pure-blood, so she should have nothing to worry about, but she was also a blood traitor by deciding to mingle with Muggle-borns and half-bloods. So what? A person's parents shouldn't decide their fate. They could chose a completely different path and so make themselves different people than their parents. This Voldemort, whoever he was, had his priorities wrong.
Alanah glanced up and to her surprise saw her own owl, Verity, swooping down from the sky at speed, a tawny blotch in the mingled gray and blue of the sky. The Ravenclaw held out an arm and allowed her owl to alight onto it gently, clutching it firmly but softly with her claws. Alanah stroked Verity with two fingers, cooing gently. She didn't have an letter, so Alanah assumed Verity just wanted some attention and company. She dug into her pocket and found a piece of toast she'd been intending to eat later and gave it to her owl, who took it gracefully and, holding her head up, swallowed it whole. With a soft coo, Verity dug her claws into Alanah's robes and took off again, her wings beating powerfully in her effort to stay airborne. She circled the courtyard once, and then rose into the air, higher, higher, higher, until she was a mere dot in the sky. Then she flew off into the Owlery. It wasn't normal for owls to stay awake during the daytime, Alanah reflected, but the last letter Verity had delivered had been from her parents a few days ago. Alanah still hadn't replied.
Indi's next words shook her out of her happy daze. The Ravenclaw gazed at her in shock. It was as if the Gryffindor had read her mind! She had founded FFF, and taught students about how to fend for themselves and work against Voldemort. Could Indi possibly be thinking about something of that sort? Alanah spoke in a quiet voice. "There is - a society in place that can teach you about how to arm yourself against the reason behind these disappearances." She chose her words carefully, reasoning that if Indi really wanted to do something, she would ask more.

She other girl was quiet for awhile, and Indigo wondered if she was even going to answer her at this rate. Perhaps not, maybe what she had asked was too much. However Alanah spoke up, and clearly she had just been thinking about the best way to answer her. She bit her lip as she listened and nodded her head. Maybe Indi wasn't too keen on muggles, but one of her best friends was a muggle, and she was less keen on them all disapearing. Growing up around muggles made you grow attatched to them, even when you didn't necessarily like them. Go figure.
Indi shielded her eyes as the sun unexpectedly popped out from behind one of the clouds again. Well, it had certainly been good while it had lasted. "Everyone but pure blooded lines. I'm not really surprised." There was always an outspoken hatred from certain pure bloods to muggle borns. Indi was a pure blood herself, but blood mattered very little to her. She wasn't raised around wizards, so it never seemed to have much of an effect. Watching as the graceful bird landed on Alanah's fingers much like her own owl Rebel had, she smiled. Watching the way the Ravenclaw tended to it, Indi's face showed approval.
If there was anything she cared for in the world it was nature, and more importantly animals. The other girl understood they were living beings, and when you treated animals right in front of Indigo, you were definitely on the right track to her. She blinked at Alanah's unexpected response that finally came, and it didn't slip past her attention that she lowered her voice and wanted this to remain and secret. Not much did slip past her. Stewing it over, Indi leaned in. "And where can one......learn more about it?"

Alanah squinted up at the sky as the welcome warmth of the sun streamed out once more as it moved away from its cloud cover, this time looking as if it were going to stay there for good. The clouds still remained stubbornly in the sky, however, and did not move. The Ravenclaw concealed a smile at the thought of clouds being stubborn and shielded her face with her hand, mimicking Indigo. As she said before, Alanah liked this conversation more than the casual talk that was usually thrown between herself and her friends. This had more depth, more thinking, more feeling, and seemed more like a conversation than any of those briefly exchanged words she had with friends. She gazed at Indi with respect in her eyes and wondered why the Gryffindor hadn't been Sorted into Ravenclaw. Well, she was certainly stubborn, and apparently brave, so perhaps Gryffindor wasn't so bad a choice for Indi after all.
Alanah nodded in agreement with Indi's choice words. "I know. I suppose it can only be expected, don't you think? A feud between them." And if it came to an all-out battle, the Ravenclaw thought grimly, she'd be supporting the Muggle-borns and half-bloods. Though she was a pure-blood, she was indeed what others, especially her enemies, Bellatrix and Narcissa Black, thought a blood-traitor. Some people were just too near-sighted to see a person's parents did not matter. Especially this Lord Voldemort, whoever he was. Alanah scratched her wrist absentmindedly, then glanced at it as if expecting to see a watch there. A first-year's screech interrupted her musings. The boy tumbled into the ground, dust rising in a great cloud around him, having tripped over his own robes. The other first-years crowded around, laughing and jeering, except for one girl - with the Gryffindor emblem on her robes - who glared at the others, seized the boy by the wrist, and hauled him to his feet. It reminded Alanah of another Gryffindor. A seventh-year. She started at Indi's voice.
Alanah stared at her for a moment, and then grinned broadly, but still keeping her voice low, pointed at herself. "Right here. I'm its leader." Realizing how this sounded, the Ravenclaw added quickly, "And Lily Evans is the co-leader. Unfortunately, we are the only members currently..." Alanah let her voice trail off, leaving the image open. A club dedicated to fighting Voldemort in need of followers? Who wouldn't deny the opportunity? Well, Alanah thought, a wry smile curving her lips, the Slytherins, for one. Most of them, at the very least. The first-years were playing again, acting as if nothing had happened, but the one girl and the boy kept on exchanging quick glances before turning away. Alanah smiled to herself.

Though they obviously had different perceptions on how the weather should remain staying, the two had similar if not the same opinions on others. People often wondered why on earth Indigo Grace wasn't in Ravenclaw. She caught herself wondering the same thing. Perhaps she just wasn't nice enough for that house. But then look at Lily Evans, the queen of kindness or nearly enough. Well, whatever the reason, the hat saw fit to put her there. Not such a lovely choice, seeing as it was difficult for Indi to even want to get along with them. It was time for the hat to rest in peace, and let the students decide by themselves, or so she thought.
"We all had to see it coming I guess. It's what happens with anything that has diversity in the muggle world. Race, religion, politics........one always feels it has to outdo the others." It was in short, ridiculous. But then that was the human mind, muggle or wizard. Eventually it all became so out of porportioned that there was war. Blood gets shed, people died pointlessly. History is always in a constant state of repeating itself. "Things will get worse before they get better." Indi added after a long pause. Well, it was all down hill from here.....
A smile threatened to reach the tips of Indigo's lips but she quickly surpressed it. Enough, all that smiling, it's enough to make one tired. Lily Evans? Hmmmm..... "Everything has to start somewhere" She said softly, tracing imaginary lines across her hand with her inkless quill. Indigo had a habit of always needing something to do, whether the action was completely useless was no matter, as long as she was doing something. "When is your next meeting? Say, if someone was interested." Indi winked.
