"Once, in an alternate universe, I was a deep thorn in Isabelle Laurentine's side. I'm still not sure how it's possible, but you can't begin to describe the loathing she had for me. She thought I was an arrogant prick, and in return, and it's not one of my better moments, I thought she was a self-rightous and naive little girl. Maybe our salvaged friendship could be attributed to how gorgeous she is, and it made me work harder, but I like to think that we turned around our attitudes and she realized how amazing I am. Haha, kidding. Isa isn't your typical hufflepuff, and I've come to find that very few of them are.

We've come close at a time when she didn't have anyone else, and I put on my doctor's vest and helped her through the problems. She was never bitter and angry, she's just complex. I like her complexity, and I'm finding that I like it more and more every day...among other things. She's grown up over the years, and it's hard for any guy, especially me to miss it. Sometimes we're laughing at a party and enjoying a dance, and other times I feel like I want her all to myself. I'm not used to out-of-character jealousy like that, but with her it comes out. She's beautiful inside and out, and I can't say I have any idea of what's in store. "

I never did anything to her, but whatever, it's her life. If she doesn't want to be friends, it's her call. I still see her around and stuff, but we don't really talk anymore."

"I don't know what happened... well yeah, I do, but I didn't think things would turn out like this. I caught her smirking at us so I gave her some lip - not too nasty, but just a little sarcastic humour. It came as a bit of a surprise to get such a sharp remark back. But I knew she was joining in on the teasing. I know it's kinda hard to believe now, but Isabelle is a really lovely girl, and though things between us are, to put it lightly, rocky, I still like her. It happened after... well, it happened when she drifted away from everyone. I tried to talk to her, get her to talk to me, but, well, that didn't turn out so well. She more or less blew up in my face, and being the jerk that I am, I couldn't stop myself from blowing up back. I really do miss her though, and I wish things were different..."

She came in later in the year, so I figured I’d be nice and talk to her, ya know? I mean, she’s cute, same house, didn’t look like her bite was that much worst then her bark. Well, I’ve learned looks can and will be deceiving. We went from friends to irritants in under two days. How that works? You’d have to ask her. I didn’t see anything wrong, but she just decided enough was enough. I’m not going to try and press my presence on somebody who doesn’t want it there. She can just go and be somebody else’s little ball of depression. I won’t deal with her anymore. But, hey, if she ever learns how to get a sense of humor she can come and talk to be, sure. "Isabelle and I couldn't help but meet, being in the same house and all. We were even pretty good friends until about last year. Then, well, everyone knows about what happened. It was horrible, but it was hard to know what to do. No one knew whether to comfort her or just leave her alone, but things became so much more complicated... Isabelle wasn't the same girl, so how did anyone know how to deal with her? I did my best to be there to comfort her, but we ended up getting in a huge fight instead. She was acting like an idoit, keeping all her real feelings in, and letting the rest of her emotions run wild. It's so stupid, but I eventually called her on it after she sent a first year away almost in tears, and it kinda exploded. Isabelle and I got into a rather nasty screaming match, and literally haven't talked since.

Anette on Isabelle - "She needs to get it through her thick skull that she can't take on the world by herself."

Isabelle on Anette - "What happened? Oh yeah, the same thing that fucked up everything else. She's got good intentions, just doesn't realize I'm not gonna change if she yells at me enough times."

"Isabelle is one of the few Hufflepuff's I dislike. She actually may be the only one of my own house that I really just can't stand. The first time I really noticed her was at breakfast not quite a year ago and I totally got the vibe that she thought she was better than most of the rest of us. I personally don't know how she ended up in the house she did.

It doesn't help that the few times I actually talked to her made me want to rip my hair out. She really rubs me the wrong way and if I wanted to give her any advice it would be to act her age. She isn't all grown up. She isn't cool. And she reminds me a little too much of myself at that age. Right now, I just need to find out why."

We ended up sharing a joint and a flask under a table, and I guess... haha, I guess you can call us friends. We don't tell each other everything by any means, god no, but we know how to have fun together, Isabelle Laurentine and I. She's not so bad. You know, for a Hufflepuff."

"Isabelle is probably the last person in this school I should associate myself with. We have practically nothing in common besides quidditch. If we weren't on the team together, I would have had no interest in meeting her ever. She's a year older than me, we have no classes together and if we're being completely honest here, she's a terrible influence on me. I initially wanted nothing to do with her except for on the pitch but circumstances called for a change. During a particularly brutal match against the Slytherins in my second year, I had one beater constantly hounding me. Isabelle took notice, gripped her bat, took a nice big swing and knocked him of his broom. Since then I've stuck by her side. I've watched her spiral out of control and she knows I hate the way she lives her life; but I refuse to give up on her. A lot of the time I resent her because being her friend sucks up a lot of energy. I lead a very busy life with more important things to do than concern myself with the well-being of other people, and if it was anyone but her I'd probably let them rot. All she needs in a little make that a giant push in the right direction because to be the honest, I don't mind giving her shit once in a while. That's what friends are for.
