Luke never thought he'd see the day where he'd be sitting on the couch with Emme Vance, like, with her with her, with her hand running through his hair and actually feeling uncomfortable. His body tensed as she spoke as he kept staring at the back of the couch as she kept on talking, not really paying attention and focusing on the fact that she was going to Hogsmeade with Gideon. And Gabby, sure, but with Gideon nonetheless. Her quidditch exboyfriend dude she did Merlin only knew what with and -- Luke shook his head, tyring to chace out any possible mentale images fighting their way through. "Right,"
[/b] he said absent-mindedly. But that wasn't really the point, was it? The point was she was hanging out with her exboyfriend on the weekend during a Hogsmeade trip. She wanted to hang out with him. Why did she want to hang out with him? What did that mean, exactly? Did she still have feelings for and that's why she wanted to see him? He was Aiden Neeson's brother, afterall. He knew what happened when exes wanted to "see" each other after breaking up meant. Kind of. After a long silent moment he finally managed to look up at her. "Right,"[/b] he repeated. He was feeling a bit sick to his stomach now. He'd never been in this situation before and was, for once in his spazzy little life, at a loss for words. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Emme's hand at the back of Luke's head now felt like she was weighing him down, heavy and uncomfortable after a while of silence in which he wasn't reassuring her that everything was fine and of course he understood that she wanted to spend time with her best friends whom she hadn't seen in ages, and of course he knew that Gabby needed to have some normal time after a breakup, pretend-breakup or not it was still clearly affecting her, and Gideon needed that too... something told her it wasn't the best idea to mention that Gideon and Jezebel had broken up, and that he'd told her. Or the other thing they'd talked about. No, it wasn't a big deal, it didn't mean anything, and it would be stupid to tell him because then Luke would think it meant something and--yeah, no. If he was reacting like this when he thought Gideon still had another girlfriend then she didn't want to know what he'd say if he found out he was single again.
Except he wasn't single. Because single meant that he was 'available' and that meant that she was thinking about him being available to her, which she wasn't. He wasn't seeing anybody. That's what. Just like TJ wasn't seeing anybody, or Ethan wasn't seeing anybody, but that didn't mean she'd suddenly go off running into their arms. She dropped her hand from Luke's neck and pressed her lips together, watching him. "It doesn't sound right," she muttered, licking her lips a little and taking a deep breath. "It's not a big deal, Luke. We're just friends. You know this. Please don't make it into something it's not.
