I hope this letter finds you well. How have you been? I feel like I have not spoken to you since graduation, although surely we must have had some sort of interaction before then! Alas, we both seem to be entirely too busy to really see people; well, I personally haven't gotten the chance to see anyone outside of James, and while he'll forever remain my favourite source of entertainment and company, being around your significant other constantly and no one else can't be healthy for a relationship, thus I'm writing to you in hopes of establishing some sort of conversation. I figured if we can't see each other, the least we can do is exchange correspondence over letters, if you're comfortable with that.

I have to admit I'm surprised you're writing me! Gladly so, though. It seems to have been a rather lonely year for all of us. I suppose graduation does that to people. I haven't seen anybody outside of Prewett and occasionally Lupin and Peter, either, from our year. I heard things are going great with you and James. I'm happy for you both; God knows you two were meant for each other.

I don't see why I shouldn't be comfortable talking to you! You're absolutely fascinating, Lily. Out of Order meetings, we don't really see each other much. How have you been? I'm hosting Alice Prewett over the holidays, and it's been fun. Managed to convince Fabian not to have my ass over it. I have nothing but good intentions, I assure you. (;

Why on Earth would you be surprised? While we were never best friends, to be sure, I've always thought we were still close enough to be considered good friends, no? Yes, things are going pretty swell with me and James, especially considering the most recent events. Losing Marlene was pretty hard on him. Pretty hard on everyone, really.

We really don't! As soon as we're both a little free, we ought to get together sometime, talk over some butterbeer or tea or something. I've been pretty well. And oh, you are? That's odd, I didn't realise you two were that close. How did that come about? Haha, as good of intentions as you might have, you know how Fabian is. He's entirely too overprotective for the good of the people he loves.

I might make an appearance at Alice Prewett's party, but I have no solid plans as of yet. James mentioned taking me to dinner, though, and I'm quite looking forward to some time alone with him, away from all stress. I definitely know who I'm kissing at midnight. And yourself?

Of course we are. All but living with a person for seven years does that to people. We should get together over tea sometime. Or meet at a bar, I'm not quite sure what's more your style, to be honest.

I can't even begin to imagine the toll it must have taken on Sirius, particularly. She was such a bright part of all of our lives, I can't really believe she's gone.

We're friends. Alice and I. Good friends, we've known each other since we were toddlers, after all. And I'm not sure if I should get into much detail... personal stuff came up and she left home. I offered up my place as long as she wanted. I've been hosting three girls in my living room since then.

Well, if you have plans with James, we wouldn't want you to miss those, I'm sure. (; Lucky girl. Don't we all want some solid romance in our lives... I doubt I'll be kissing anybody, to be honest. Maybe New Year's kisses just aren't for everyone.

Yes, it has been pretty hard on him. Although, to be honest, we don't really know what state he's in, seeing as he's been pretty MIA lately. I'm sure you're aware of that, though. Alice is rather good friends with him, too, is she not? She must be pretty worried about him, too.

Ah, I see. Well, it's good to know that she has you there for her. But wait, I'm confused - three girls? Is Alice not your only roommate, then?

Ah, but apparently, Alice comes with a three-man package called Lucy Murphy and Maylene Bell. I'm sure you're familiar with them, hm?

That sounds sweet. And no, I haven't... I mean, I'm still slowly working towards getting over Alice Logan, if I'm being honest. I'm doing better, all things considered. Still hard not to think about everything, though, you know? It could have been really great between us.

Ah, you have more faith in him than I do. Considering Sirius Black's track record, I'm almost positive that he is that reckless. I just hope he's not doing anything too idiotic.

Oh, of course I am, who isn't? Those three are always getting up to some sort of trouble. I almost regret not being in Hogwarts this year, they're bound to be crazier than ever seeing as it's their last year.

I was afraid you'd say that. And you're right, it could have been really great between you two, but what if it hadn't? I think -- and excuse me for stating my opinion when you hadn't even asked for it, but I can't ever help myself -- you're still stuck in the "what if" zone. You don't really know how good of a couple you would make because you hardly got the chance, which makes it even more difficult to move on. Or...well, that's what I think, but I could be wrong. Still, I know that it's not good for you, holding onto that. Alice would be upset if she knew - don't worry, I won't tell her. She's trying her best to move on, too.
