So there's something that I really, really need to tell someone because I'm really worried but I promised I wouldn't tell anyone but I'm still really worried...but I DID promise and I don't know what to do and it involves two of our really good friends and did I mention I didn't know what to do but I'm not supposed to talk about it??
What should I do, Mica???

Well.....if you're not supposed to tell and you promised you wouldn't, then you probably shouldn't.
Then again, you probably shouldn't be keeping a secret because those are not very good ideas and someone could get hurt.
Are they in trouble?

I don't know I don't knowwww. They're not really...in trouble per say. But their friendship is definitely in trouble. And Va one of them is really upset about it.

I've noticed that her and Emmeline haven't really been talking. What I think, is that as a friend of yours and of Vanessa's, that you can tell me. It's the right thing to do for your well being.

Well...actually...you sort of hit the nail on the head. It's about Emmeline and Vanessa. And...something happened and now they...aren't talking because it's...kind of awkward. I can't tell you details, it's a big secret!!

I was afraid of that. I hate when our friends let things get in between them. I understand Gabby. If you hadn't promised to keep a secret in the first place this would be easier for you, though. Is Emme mad at Vanessa or is Vanessa mad at Emme?

Um. Neither of them are really...mad at each other. They're just...Vanessa said something to Emmeline that...kind of made their friendship tense and awkward and...I don't know how to say this without giving everything away!

Well, it's Emmeline that told me, really, and it was right after it happened and she was really upset.
But Mica I don't know what to do! I just want to help because I love them both so much and I just...okay, if I tell you, will you swear not to tell anyone, including Emmeline and Vanessa, that you know?

That sounds like another secret. What if I promise that I won't bring it up to either one of them? If they ask me what I know I have to tell the truth, but I won't bother them.

Okay. That sounds reasonable.
Well...Vanessa told Emmeline that she kind of...well...has feelings for her. And Emmeline...well, she feels all weirded out now, especially she's never been really...exposed to that stuff, and she thinks it's wrong strange, and Vanessa is embarrassed, so neither of them are talking.

I guess. And she just...doesn't understand...homosexuality? I don't know how to put it because I've always been fine with it, but that's because my best friend is one, and it's never been a big deal and I hardly even think about it. I probably think about it as much as I think about...well, Gideon being straight. Which is hardly at all. So she's just been having trouble with that and...I really don't think the way they're avoiding each other is healthy, you know?
Technically, she hasn't quite come out. Only Emmeline and I know. And, well, now you, too.
