{ A B O U T . T H E . C H A R A C T E R } Name: Trey Shasta Jackson Age: 16 years Gender: Male Year: 6th year Face Claim: Steven Strait
Canon or Original? All Mine
Facial Properties: Trey has a full head of hair. It curls nicely down to his ears when he keeps it long, or is cut nicely like your average boy’s hair cut. His hair strands are colored a deep brown and they easily match his chocolate brown eyes. His hair has always been a curly mess, ever since he was a child. It might be his Jewish roots, but no one has really bothered to find out. As his years aged, the problem disappeared by itself, so there was really no need to worry. His hair flattened out, letting of course a few curls by, and became thicker and thicker until Trey cut it back. Overall his hair is thick but short.
Other than his hair, nothing really sticks out about him more than his smile. During his adolescent years, Trey went through years of braces. They really seemed to pay off. His lips are thinner than most, so his teeth really shine through. He isn’t too keen on sharing his smile, but when he does, his whole face lifts up and joy radiates from his body. If only Trey would smile more…
His nose was a bit pokey in the middle of his face, maybe one of his more dramatic features. Against his softly defined cheekbones, it really stood out. His eyebrows creased a bit much, so whenever he stared off into space, he looked as though he was concentrating extremely hard. However, when he really was lost and confused, his eyebrows would raise and he they would almost float away. His mouth would also turn, and his facial expression could be described as someone hopelessly in love. It wasn’t exactly the most helpful features to his body. His ears were also a bit large for his head. They weren’t exactly noticeable, but when he was little, they were extremely noticeable, and Trey has been sensitive about them ever sense. His mother laughed at him, but Trey couldn’t resist. He felt better when his hair fluffed down his forehead, easily covering his eyes and ears. But his mother hated that and magically cut it with her wand when he wasn’t paying attention. He would get extremely annoyed whenever she did this.
Physique: His family owned a magical farm. They had lots of chores to do, and from the moment Trey could walk, he had to do chores. They started small: feed the chickens and collect the eggs. But as he grew, his work became harder and harder labor. At fourteen years old, Trey was already building fences and working the cattle. He loathed his mom’s idea that he had to do this by hand. It would be so easy to fix things with magic, but she always said no, it would build his body correctly if he did the work. She also said that if he performed a spell she would call in to the Ministry of Magic. Trey knew she wasn’t kidding. So over the course of his life, he built up his muscles to peak condition. However, he wasn’t your average body builder. He was around 5’7 at about 150 pounds. He was lean but carried obvious muscle in his legs and arms. He sported a pretty good six pack too. He was always one for sports, his father taught him how to play and Trey instantly fell in love. He liked Quidditch too of course; he had his own broom to fly and everything. He had never tried out for his house team though, he had never felt it. His friends told him he had the build for a nice chaser. Trey paid no attention to them though, he didn’t feel the need. He’d rather be by himself really. Working on the farm alone gave him freedom. And he embraced that.
Wand Type: 11’ Birch with Dragon Heartstring Wand Expertise: Excellent for hexes and Defense Against the Dark Arts Patronus: A shepherd mutt dog with joyful behavior. Boggart: Grizzly Bear. Simply because a large male killed his father and nearly killed him too. Personality: During the first few years of life, Trey was a pretty loud, obnoxious toddler. He liked chasing the chickens, he pulled on the dog’s tail, he kicked over things when he was mad, and he back talked everyone. It was hell for his mother and father. They loved him non the less though. His father always claimed it was his behavior that he loved the most; he was a boy full of life, and a life was full of him. Trey was a funny one, he jumped all over things, and ran around his farm like he was on fucking acid. His mother would always scold him, but his father always put up a hand and said, let him play, we can wait for tomorrow. Megan and Derrick were his only family, they had only decided to have one child, Trey might be the reason because of that. His child hood years were ridiculous. Megan decided to try and send him to childcare with all the other wizard’s kids in the neighborhood, but unlucky for the Jackson’s, Trey got kicked out. They said he was scaring the children and jumping on things that weren’t meant to be jumped on. Derrick laughed; Trey had hit him in the balls on accident too many times to forget.
As he grew older, after age seven, he started to calm down. His mother was beyond worried he’d be diagnosed with A.D.D. but he seemed to become the average boy after age seven. Derrick and Megan began to relax. Trey had stopped being a little devil child and was now becoming a calm boy that was more mature than normal for his age. Derrick smiled when he looked down at his son, and he started bringing him along on the trips to the mountains. He was a very adventurous young boy, he used his climbing skills for rocks and boulders and smiled his famous smile when he reached the top. He was happy, he was cheerful, and he felt like he accomplished something great. His father couldn’t have been prouder.
After the accident everything changed. He hid in his room, the door shut and the lights off for weeks. His mother gave him dinner through the door. He refused to leave his room. He went from a fun loving boy to a teenager who spent his time reading books in the dark. He went off to Hogwarts and stayed to himself. He wasn’t exactly into making friends, he wasn’t happy and cheerful enough to do that. He stayed up in his four poster studying and doing homework during his free time. He got great grades, that made him smile his famous smile. But not much else did. His summers were filled with work. He wasn’t the boy his mother remembered any longer. He was a kid growing up way too fast. During summer holidays, he stayed up in his room. He came out to do chores and that was about it. He had nightmares for years. He finally got over that though.
It took him four years from the accident to finally return to normal. At Hogwarts he made a few friends, that was all he needed. He didn’t like too much attention. He liked his space, but it was nice to share a few laughs with friends during meals and school activities. His grades were maintained well and his mother couldn’t be happier. Summer holidays were better than ever, and sometimes Trey even smiled for her. It would make her day, her week! It made Trey happy to see his mother happy, and they kept a close bond throughout the years. They were in it together. His old self started to come back to, his sense of humor and his spunk. Megan and Trey would yap at each other all summer, he would do his chores but not without complaint. It was better, it was definitely better now.

History: Megan and Derrick were 7th year sweethearts. They were purebloods and came from a very big family. Megan herself had seven siblings, Derrick had only three, but together, that was a lot of family. Megan and Derrick were in the same house, Gryffindor. They met in their first year, but they became very close friends in their 5th year. Megan developed a crush on Derrick towards the end of that year, but it took Derrick another year before he finally kissed her. They were together ever sense. A few months after Graduation, they got married and moved out to a small town in Britain where they started their farm. It was a good three years before Megan was pregnant with Trey. The family was thrilled of course. All of Megan’s siblings came down to help out with her pregnancy; the four boys went out to give Derrick a hand with the farm. The two girls helped Megan, they were with her the whole 9 months. The youngest sister Molly, was still at school but after her graduation from Hogwarts, she came to the farm to help. Derrick’s three brothers came to help with the farm too. It was great fun with the whole family there. When eight months swept by, both of their parents came to the farm to help Megan. When Trey finally arrived, he was surrounded with family and the first month went by easily and happily with all the help. But it wasn’t until after everyone left that Megan and Derrick realized how much they missed the peace and quiet. Trey was a quiet newborn; he didn’t start making too much noise until he passed six months old. He wanted to crawl, he wanted to stand up, he wanted to push himself to no end. The Jackson’s were thrilled of course, but they also wanted to slow down. They weren’t sure if they were going to have another child, and they wanted to embrace this time with their child while they could.
They got their wish. His toddler years dragged on for ages, and they were begging for him to grow up, or at least calm down a little bit. They missed the sleeping baby that was quiet and loving. They didn’t like the boy he destroyed everything and was a little brat. Megan grew annoyed, she wasn’t the fun loving girl that Derrick had grown up with and loved, she was becoming aggrevated and anxious. He knew he had to do something. So at just two years old, he brought his son out to the chicken coop for some chores. All was well, Trey seemed to like the chickens. And they didn’t snap at him which was a great thing. Derrick had been worried that would happen because Trey would never let the hens forget it. So for two years Trey tended the chickens. He fed them, he watered them, he cleaned their cages, and he collected eggs. Sometimes he would even catch one for his father to slaughter for dinner. However he still was an obnoxious child. When he got frustrated, he’d spill the feed bag all over the farm and refuse to clean it up. Derrick would roll his eyes and just magically clean it up; this really got Trey’s attention. He loved it when his parents used magic. He couldn’t wait until he could use his own, but he had to wait a very long time before he could. He knew this and it frustrated him.
As the years passed, and Trey started to mellow down, Derrick began teaching Trey knew things about the farm. He learned how to do it the muggle way, because he wasn’t allowed to use magic, he didn’t even know how, so his father took care of this problem and came up with a solution. Even when he was used to magic, he didn’t complain because he knew this was good for his son. The more chores he had, the greater he was distracted from making a mess. When Derrick first introduced him to the cows, Trey was eight years old, he had seen them of course, but his father wouldn’t let him near enough to touch them. He was a small child and his father was worried he’d piss the cows off and get stomped on. But Trey reached out to the cows and grew a close bond with them. This pleased his father. They worked the ranch together and started doing other outdoor activities. Trey’s mother was proud, her little boy was growing up. Another year passed of hard farm work, it was this summer that they started having problems though. A large amount of dangerous animals were surrounding the area. Derrick wasn’t worried, he had dealt with them his whole life because he had grown up on a farm. But Megan wasn’t as easily comforted. She was nervous about the attacks that were happening to their neighbors. One would think one with magic would be able to keep a cougar off their farm, but attacks were happening everywhere. She paid close attention to the news. Dinner was especially tense. Megan would keep the radio on the whole time, listening intently to the reports. ”Attention! A new attack! Right on Bright Dale RD. Derrick jumped out of his seat, grabbed his wand and ran out the door, Trey at his heels. Megan scribbled a note on a piece of paper, attached it to the family owl and sent him off. He would alert the officials so they’d send help. Meanwhile, Trey and Derrick had found the attacker. It was a giant brown grizzly bear. He wasn’t your normal animal though… There was something off about him…
Derrick suddenly shouted, “Trey get back in the house!”
“No, I’m not leaving you!” Trey told him angrily.
“This bear is cursed! Get back in the house!” Trey stood, he couldn’t decide what to do. But in his moment’s hesitation, The bear lunged at his dad. Derrick cast a spell but the bear didn’t notice. “Get out of here!!” He screamed as the bear ripped him apart in front of Trey’s eyes. The bear suddenly turned to go after him, he walked steadily closer to him, but before Trey could scream, casts of light surged at the bear, and the next moment the bear was down. It was dead.
Hogwarts came and took Trey the next year. It was a blur until around his third year. He made his first friends and he began realizing he was okay, and he needed to get on with his life. Fourth year came along and he met his first crush. She was a beautiful girl named Laney. She was very sweet to him, and he fell for her. They were together for a year before she called it off. Trey was sad to watch her go, but he knew it was for the best.
Sample Post: Laney. She was in his dreams long before he formally met her. There was something about her that made him smile. They were in different houses, but he didn’t care, she was the sweetest thing that had ever happened to him. She reminded him of the love he had forgotten after the attack on his father. She was his angel, and he wanted her more then he could ever believe possible. It just so happened to be in class that he had zoned out thinking about her. The teacher didn’t seem to mind, he looked as if he was in love with what the teacher was saying, and this didn’t bother the professor one bit. Trey’s mind wandered back to the previous hour when she had been in Charms with her. He smiled, he couldn’t help it.
Suddenly his seat partner prodded him with his quill. “What?” Trey asked him a little too harshly. He shook his head trying to clear Laney from his thoughts. “Sorry,” He murmured after a seconds hesitation. He looked into his seat partner’s eyes and was confused to find that she was still staring at him. She glared at him and nodded toward the teacher. Trey slowly turned. The Professor was smiling at him.
“Jackson! Would you please recite the spell I would use to get my glasses to my hands?” Trey took a deep breath, at least he wouldn’t be completely embarrassed in front of the class. He had to admit though, getting caught day dreaming was pretty annoying.
“Accio Glasses.” He responded cheerfully to her question. It was a little fake, but he wanted the professor to leave him alone. Luckily she took the hint and moved on to another student. Trey was already drawing pictures and was failing to pay attention before the professor had even asked her next question.
After Charms was lunch. He made his way to the Great Hall and sat down quickly when he reached his house’s table. He turned around to look for her and his eyes found hers. He smiled at her confidently. She returned it shyly. Blinking, he wondered if this was the moment. He went with his instincts and got up from the table and went over to where she was sitting. She was a year younger than him, but he didn’t care. How bad was a fifteen year old going for a fourteen year old anyway? He smiled at her again. “Hi.” He laughed a little bit. “I must seem silly.” He told her smoothly. He was bending down, his arm in front of her on the table as he talked to her. For once he didn’t even mind the loud rumble of noise that was dancing through the Great Hall.
Laney smiled at him, “Yeah, you kind of do.” She shyly giggled. It was the most wonderful sound Trey had ever heard. “I like silly though.” She told him after a moment.
Trey suddenly felt hopeful. It grew serious; his free hand reached up to her face to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. He looked at her face and brushed his hand against her cheek as he pulled away and quietly told her his name. She looked overwhelmed, like she didn’t know what to think of all this. But he left her there to go back to his table. He left her there to look after him.
