, who apart from being the oldest, is also adopted. He's twenty-one. Then comes COLLEEN, with twenty. Next are JAYDEN and RYANNE, who are twins, both of seveteen, followed by JAMES with sixteen, then SLAINE of fifteen, and finally, at thirteen years of age, EILEEN.

Both to gather a different perspective of everything, and because family is a large part of Jayden’s life, both metaphorically and not, and also to provide an extra showcase of the ambient of his home life. (:
He lives in a family of seven children. (Click names for pictures) The oldest is ERIK

Name: Jayden Michael Flynn
Age: Seventeen
Gender: Male
Year: Sixth
Face Claim: Cameron Mitchell
Canon or Original? ORIGINAL OMG FIRST ONE. –dies-
Facial Properties:
“Jayden Flynn. If you had to describe his facial features, what would you say he looks like?”
ERIK: No, the actual face, Slaine. Like, what’s his face made up of.
JAMES: Let’s see. A pair of eyes, a nose, a mouth...
RYANNE: Oh, shut up. Okay, let’s see... Jayden has light brown eyes? Sort of a greyish or greenish hue to them sometimes, depending on where and when you look at them, I guess. They’re light, but brown, if that even makes sense. His eyes are also quite slanted? Almost there to an Asian look to them, I think. Mine are too, I suppose. They’re pretty small and when he smiles real wide or laughs they all but disappear. It’s cute.
SLAINE: But he wears those glasses over the eyes all the time so you can’t really tell they’re that small. Or, well, you can but it’s really not that big of a deal. People totally look at the glasses first and stuff. Since they’re large, and thick enough? They draw attention. If I didn’t know him better I’d say it was almost a technique.
ERIK: He just does it because he thinks he looks good.
EILEEN: He does look good.
ERIK: Whatever.
COLLEEN: Do we comment on all of his face? Let’s see, his nose... is relatively straight? Proportionate to his face, I guess. Hold on, I need to look at a picture. Where is the guy when you need him?
RYANNE: It’s really just normal. Slightly pointy at the very end. It makes him look adorable.
COLLEEN: It does.
ERIK: His mouth is also normal. Moving on.
EILEEN: He has stubble already! It started appearing last summer and I was dying from laughing because it’s Jay and he’s all grown up and he gets stubbles now.
SLAINE: He shaves it, though...
RYANNE: Yeah, most of the time, he does.
JAMES: He has a really great smile, though, I’ll say that. When it’s natural and not forced, cause then he just looks weird.
COLLEEN: Look here, though, his jaw is really defined... or well, it’s pointy-is, I suppose. He has a thin face. A thin neck. Comes with being tall, I guess. Lucky him.
SLAINE: Then there’s the hair.
RYANNE: I’m in love with Jay’s hair.
ERIK: Why? It’s so... straight and poofy to the sides. And when he brushes it back he looks like some sort of pretentious douchebag from the twenties.
RYANNE: He does not! Besides, he usually never wears it back. He just lets it lose, and it’s much better looking than yours. You’re just jealous.
EILEEN: He’s blonde-ginger.
RYANNE: Like me. Maybe a little blonder than me. But we both have almost the same type of hair. And I think that wraps up his face. Unless you want details... his skin is pale, it’s fine, his eyebrows are normal, his ears are also normal, and that’s about it. He’s not ridiculously handsome or anything, but he’s cute enough, coming from a sister’s point of view.[/ul]
Physique:
“And what about the rest of his body? From the neck down? Could you give us an overview of what he looks like?”
SLAINE: Don’t be sick, Erik, of course not.
ERIK: Hey, just askin’. Alright, let’s get this over with. Jayden is tall. Like, really ridiculously tall. Taller than me. And I’m four years older than him. Bastard.
COLLEEN: It’s not hard to be taller than me but, still. He’s really skinny; lanky even, if you want to put it that way. He doesn’t like or do sports, so his muscles aren’t really worked out or anything. I bet his fingers are fabulously so, though, from all the guitar strumming he does all the time.
SLAINE: Basically, Jay is long all over. He has long legs, a long torso, long arms, long fingers, a long neck... everything about him is long.
ERIK: You’re making it too easy, Slaine.
SLAINE: What?
ERIK: Nothing. Okay, he’s long, tall, skinny. What else?
EILEEN: Pale? We’re all pale here except for you.
ERIK: Oh, the advantages of being adopted.
RYANNE: Back to the task at hand. Yeah, Jayden’s very pale, and tall. His legs are really long, which is why sometimes he’s a little awkward on them since the growth spurt last summer. It shouldn’t be that funny to watch him try to run, but it is. It just looks like he’s going to fall flat on his face at any moment.
JAMES: I wish I was that tall, though.
SLAINE: You wish you were Jayden, we know.
JAMES: Do not! I’m perfectly content with how I look. I’d just like to be taller. He seriously barely has any muscle. His frame is actually kind of girly, when you think about it. But still a guy. Dunno, it’s weird.
SLAINE: Well, what about his clothes? Can we talk about his clothes?
EILEEN: Oh, he has the best clothes...
SLAINE: Yes, I know, I was going to say that. Basically, Jayden wears cardigans all day long. Cardigans and a lot, lot, lot of plaid, and button-downs, and v-neck shirts. It’s his style. He also wears relatively tight pants and sometimes the Cross around his neck. And of course, his glasses.
EILEEN: They know about the glasses.
SLAINE: Well, they’re important. Remember, people, glasses.[/ul]
Wand Type: Reed Wood, 12¼ inches, Phoenix Feather
Wand Expertise: Particularly good at Hexes
Patronus: Hedgehog
Boggart: Zombies
Personality:
“Hello, everybody. I was just wondering if you guys could tell me a little about your brother, Jayden.”
“Well, mainly, I was looking for a little insight into what he’s like; around friends, around family. How has he grown up?”
RYANNE: Jayden and I are twins. We’re the only ones that developed magical powers in our family.
COLLEEN: We’ve all grown up with Catholic beliefs all our lives. Our parents have taught us Christianity and it’s been an important part of all of our lives, I think. Though I’d say that not all of us are as devoted to God as our parents are, or as I am, for example, I know that Jayden is definitely a strong believer, and he’s very confident about it, too. We all go to church every Sunday except for when we were at school, especially the young’uns. James, Slaine and Eileen still attend St. Patrick’s, which is a Protestant Boarding School near Derbyshire. I don’t think Jay has the opportunity to do so at Hogwarts, right, Ry?
RYANNE: No, Hogwarts isn’t religious. We do pray—at least, I do, and I think Jay does, too. It seems like something he’d definitely do—before eating, and at night.
COLLEEN: Right. Not that I’ve personally ever seen him in action, but from his letters, and the way I know him as, he’s a pretty conservative guy most of the time. I don’t think he likes it when girls are all up in his face with their stuff, and I’m certain for a fact that he’s never done anything indecent, either.
ERIK: Waiting till marriage.
COLLEEN: Yes, definitely.
ERIK: (mumbled) Loser.
COLLEEN: Anyway, yes. He’s a good kid. He goes by the Bible most of the time. He’s humble, caring, gentle... He’d never cheat in his life.
RYANNE: Ever.
COLLEEN: Ever. He’d rather break dance naked in the middle of a football stadium.
ERIK: Wouldn’t that be a sight, though.
COLLEEN: Shush. Jay’s also kind of an in-the-shadows guy, you know? He doesn’t really like too much attention; he prefers to lay back and stuff. He’s not anti-social, per say. He definitely has friends. There was that blonde kid in the photograph he sent us last summer, remember? And that other girl... well. Mainly, he doesn’t seek attention much, I think. That’s as far as I can say, though. I was already in boarding school when Jay and Ry got that letter from Hogwarts, so it’s not like we’ve spent more than just summers together since.[/ul]
“Of course. He sounds like a simple kid. Is he? Is he the quiet library type, then?”
RYANNE: Definitely not. I don’t think he’s a fan of books at all, really.
JAMES: Jay writes, though. Songs. And stuff. He’s super into it, too. He asked for a guitar for his birthday when I was seven... he must have been turning eight, then, and hasn’t stopped playing since. He got really good at it, too. I tried to learn but...that’s not really my area. Jay’s written loads of stuff. He usually lets me hear them all and yah, he’s talented.
EILEEN: He sings, too!
JAMES: That, too. He’s like a one-man-band. Guitar, lyrics and voice. Sometimes I join in. Helped him on a duet once; it was wicked. Well, yeah. Jay’ll lock himself up on weekends and just strum along on that guitar of his. He’ll burst out into song while setting up dinner...
SLAINE: Or getting dressed in the morning.
ERIK: In the middle of the night, when the rest of us are trying to sleep.
RYANNE: On train rides.
JAMES: Anywhere, really. It’s kind of a huge part of him, I’d say, right?
RYANNE: Mhm. He plays in the common room all the time, too. Sometimes I think he loves that guitar more than he loves me.[/ul]
“Haha! I’m sure he doesn’t. He sings and writes songs, though? I suppose that’d make him pretty popular, then. Does he dance, too?”
SLAINE: He so does!
ERIK: Not well.
SLAINE: ...okay, maybe not.
ERIK: He thinks he can dance. What he does is stumble around while giving his extremities beats so it looks like his spasm goes along with the song. Jayden’s really awkward, to be honest. His body is, I mean. Clumsy as anything; I cannot even count how many times he’s tripped or fallen into something in his life. I used to have to pull him out of the river nearby when we were little.
RYANNE: There was that one time he nearly shattered the upstairs window when he slammed into it, remember?
ERIK: Totally. His legs are too long. He can’t handle them, we think.
COLLEEN: It’s endearing.
ERIK: Yeah, yeah. So, no, he can’t dance. I feel for the girl he’d ask to prom. We should start getting her feet measured for the cast so we can have it ready afterwards. Especially if he’s had a few drinks on him.
RYANNE: Jayden doesn’t drink.
ERIK: Really? Not at all?
RYANNE: No. He doesn’t like it. Not the taste, not the smell, not the effects. I think he mentioned something about having seen one too many ruined relationships and friendships because people were intoxicated. He’s on some sort of life-long vow not to drink or something. Kind of unrealistic, if you ask me.
ERIK: Tell me about it.
RYANNE: Also—(chuckles)—I wouldn’t say he’s popular, no. If by that you mean that he has hoards of friends and admirers and girls drooling over him? No, not him. He’s kind of—
ERIK: A dork?
RYANNE: I was going for—
ERIK: Nerd?
RYANNE: Geeky.
SLAINE: But his clothes—
ERIK: He’s a nerd. And a dork. And geeky. Total weirdo. I love him, dude, I do, but he’s a freak. You are, too, Ry. With all the Abra Kedabra thingy and everything.
RYANNE: Shut up.
ERIK: Yeah, well, Jayden’s not the smooth-talker by far. Dunno how he’ll ever get a girl like that. Unless he’s gay. Then it’d be a guy. Suppose that’d be easier.
SLAINE: Well, his outfits—
RYANNE: Erik, just shut up.
ERIK: Shutting...[/ul]
“O-kay. But um, Slaine, are you? You were mentioning something about clothes? Does he have a specific style, then?”
ERIK: Metrosexual?
SLAINE: Yes! That! I’m pretty sure that’d be Jay, right there.
RYANNE: His fashion sense is pretty pristine.
SLAINE: Right!? Okay, so like, he’s really, really, really into dressing nice and looking good but not full of himself at all! His appearance matters to him but he’s not self-centered. I have no idea how he manages that. All of the guys I know that care about what they look like is to either impress girls or because they’re crazy vain.
COLLEEN: Oh, Jay’s not vain at all...
SLAINE: And it’s adorable! Urgh, I just can’t. I swear he spends almost as much time as I do getting dressed in the morning, and whenever he comes out he always has the perfect outfit, and it’ll match amazingly, and he’ll smell so good.
RYANNE: Oh, lord, the scents...
COLLEEN: The scents.
JAMES: The infamous obsession with the scents.
SLAINE: Jayden has an infatuation with colognes. And perfumes. And body sprays and bath salts, and moisturizers and basically any product that you can put on that smells nice. He will literally track down a scent from around the house and sniff you up until he can discover what kind of perfume you’re wearing, or what it smells like.
RYANNE: It’s ridiculous in a kind of awesome way. Sometimes I trust him more with choosing my outfits and accessories than I do myself.
SLAINE: Just trust me. If you ever need somebody to help you choose a perfume to buy, ask Jayden. He will go with you a hundred miles to the next body shop and spend the entire day there with you until you find the perfect one. Vanilla is his favourite, I think. But he also has this one that’s... I can’t remember the name but it’s so boyish in the best way ever that I’m always telling him he should wear it all day long.
RYANNE: He does.
JAMES: He gets to pick out my stuff for me, too. During the summer, of course.
SLAINE: Oh, and of course, no Jayden is complete without...?
JAMES: The glasses.
COLLEEN: The glasses.[/ul]
“The glasses? You mean sunglasses?”
ERIK: Of course you can, Pookah. Guys, give Pookah a turn.
EILEEN: Don’t call me that. But okay. I’ll answer this one. Jayden’s blind.
SLAINE: He’s not blind.
EILEEN: Well, okay! They’re not sunglasses, they’re vision glasses. He’s had sight problems since he was really, really little. Like, bad ones. According to him, everything is one big blur when he doesn’t have his glasses on. It totally sucks, but they’re almost a part of him now.
SLAINE: They’re those—
EILEEN: I’m speaking! They’re those rounded, thick black glasses? He got them some years ago and he hasn’t taken them off since. They’re totally a part of his everyday outfit now. The only times I’ve seen him without them are whenever he’s swimming somewhere, or sleeping.
JAMES: And even then, sometimes...
EILEEN: Really?
JAMES: Nah. Kidding.
EILEEN: Well, whatever, James. Jayden is super smart, too. Like, he’s really, really smart. I hear he gets amazing grades in school.
RYANNE: ...I wouldn’t say amazing...
EILEEN: Didn’t he get three A’s or something in his bird exams last year?
RYANNE: OWLs, Eileen. And yes, but I’ve told you before. At Hogwarts, A is like a... um... like a C, I guess. It’s Acceptable. The best grade is an O for Outstanding.
EILEEN: Oh. Well he’s still really smart! He always teaches me stuff about anything, and he helps me with my summer homework when I can’t do it.
SLAINE: Not like your homework’s the hardest thing ever, really...
EILEEN: Shut up! Jay’s the best brother ever, though.
ERIK: Hey!
EILEEN: You too. Duh. But he is. He’s all... I don’t know how to explain it, he’s just a really good brother. Even though we all don’t see him or Ry at all during the school year except for Christmas, when we all get together of course, he’s always so excited to see us, and he just... don’t you guys think he is? I mean, he asks me about school and the guys in my year, and how my ballet lessons are going...
JAMES: Yah, I know what you mean, though. He just...knows what you want to talk to him about, you know? Instinct, I guess. We’re close, Jay and I.
EILEEN: And he talks to Erik about all of that sports stuff that I know for a fact that he doesn’t like—Jayden doesn’t like sports at all. We all think it’s because he sucks at them, but he insists that he just doesn’t see the point—just because he can. He’s...thoughtful? I don’t know. Sweet.[/ul]
“A good brother, then. Well, it certainly seems like it. You all talk about him really well. What about you, Ryanne? You haven’t said much.”
ERIK: How about all the shit he doesn’t tell us? Like, girlfriends?
RYANNE: A couple. Over the years. Nothing ridiculously serious, though. He’s not exactly a ladies’ man, obviously. He’s super serious about asking a girl out. He has to really like her, and he’s super romantic about it.
SLAINE: Romantic? Like, flowers and chocolates and dances and stuff?
RYANNE: I don’t think that’s his style, specifically, but yes, romantic. He’s a...let’s see, a big planner. He likes going all-out for people he cares about. Mostly writes songs for them.
JAMES: See what I meant?
RYANNE: He likes making a girl feel special. He likes surprising her, giving her gifts that are more than wrapped candy or flowers that wilt. I don’t know; he’s special. None of the girls he’s been with have been friends of mine, though, so I don’t know personally but...that’s what I can gather from what he tells me. He’s kind of... I get the feeling he’s kind of an awesome boyfriend.
ERIK: He’s not hiding anybody from us right now, right? He said he was single.
RYANNE: He is.
ERIK: Aight, good.
RYANNE: Well, he’s also, like... a really good hugger? If that makes sense? He’s very much a physical kind of person with stuff. He likes holding hands, linking arms, touching hair, hugging, arms around shoulders; he’s always been like that at school. With his friends, with me, with anybody. It’s nice.
JAMES: I agree. He’s always giving me piggyback rides and fooling around like that. Harder than it was back when we were nine and ten, but still.
RYANNE: I think being around a lot of sisters has had a good influence on him. He’s really respectful of women, and a total gentleman. Opens doors for girls, he’s the first one to help somebody pick up their books if they drop them, or quietly make a subtle compliment about anything, anytime. It’s just... I don’t know how to explain it—small things he says or does that just make him a really great guy, you know?
COLLEEN: He’s really helpful around the house, too.
EILEEN: Super helpful.
RYANNE: He’s like that at school, too. There is so much good in him it’s kind of ridiculous. He’s so generous. He’s almost always thinking about everybody else before he thinks about himself. All of my friends adore him. It’s hard not to, really.
JAMES: I agree.[/ul]
“Well! Thank you so much for your contribution, guys. I think we have a good picture of Jayden now. Anything else you’d like to add?”
SLAINE: Shopping buddy!
EILEEN: Best glasses ever.
COLLEEN: Great little bro.
JAMES: Best bud.
RYANNE: He’s Jay. We were in our mother’s uterus at the same time. We’re all but one. I adore him. [/ul]

History:
“Hello, again. What we need right now is basically an overview of Jayden’s life since he was born until now. Could you guys help us with that? I understand Erik and Colleen were alive when he was born?”
COLLEEN: As ever. Okay, November 11th, 1960. The two gingers over there were born. We were living in a relatively small estate that was passed on from mum’s ancestors when they lived in England, and they moved from South of Dublin, where they’d been born, to Britain a year after adopting Erik, which was when I was still a baby.
ERIK: By relatively small, she means kind of huge and disproportionate to the amount of people living in it. It’s one of those large, old houses from the eighteenth century?
COLLEEN: Yes, but either way. We were living there when Jay and Ryanne were born, and that’s the life they began to know. The estate, our home, is in Derbyshire, in the North of England, and it’s where we’ve lived all of our lives. Father instated his own enterprise, which became quite successful over the years, so we were able to maintain the house.
ERIK: Like I said, it’s huge.
COLLEEN: So yes, the babies were born. Mother and Father always wanted a large family, so I suppose if they’d planned for the estate to become theirs, then it had all gone according to plan. There were now four of us.
ERIK: Jay began to grow up with Ryanne all the time at his side. You couldn’t find one without the other by their side. They wore matching outfits—I remember those clearly—and everything they did, they did together.
JAMES: I was born a year later.
ERIK: When Jayden and Ryanne were one. I don’t think they started showing signs of magic until they were...how old, Coll, do you remember?
COLLEEN: Six? Seven?
RYANNE: I was first. I think it was six for me, seven for him. He cried for a week straight when he found out that I could do weird things with my mind and he couldn’t. Took him a year to finally unblock his resistance enough to start showing the magic as well. We come from a muggle family, so nobody knew what was going on.
COLLEEN: Mother thought she was going crazy.
ERIK: Then that dude came. The one with the long white beard and the creepy as hell clothes that looked like he was performing as Merlin in The Sword in the Stone or something, and he talked to Mum and Dad, and after that he must have explained the concept of magic or whatever, because it was okay again.
RYANNE: It was completely surreal, though. Magic had been for dreamers before that, and out of nowhere...
COLLEEN: Those two are the only ones that developed that ability. I don’t really envy them, though. Seems like a lot of effort to go to that school in the middle of Scotland or something.
ERIK: Magic creeps me out a bit. And I still haven’t seen proof, guys. The bet is still on, James!
JAMES: Hah, bring it.
RYANNE: Anyway, we found out that we were wizard and witch, and Professor Dumbledore, Erik, the wizard with the beard, and also Headmaster of Hogwarts, told us about Hogwarts and stuff, until we knew what to do with our lives. We turned eleven, and then the letters came, one for each, at the same time, and all of that overwhelming stuff like wizarding money, and robes for clothes—I remember how shocked I was to read that, specifically—and buying cauldrons and pet owls and stuff.
JAMES: Took a while for our parents to get used to that, but we all got the knack of it, methinks. In the end, at least.
RYANNE: We went to Hogwarts for the first time that year. The sorting was excruciating for both of us. I think I always knew we’d both be sorted into the same house, though. Instinct told me that. We’re too much alike in a lot of ways for us not to be.
ERIK: You both wrote home all excited about it.
JAMES: Meanwhile, us normal folks went to normal boarding school, as usual.
RYANNE: The rest is pretty much history. Just his school life and stuff needs to be done. I dunno, he made friends, he started liking girls; we both did all of our serious growing up there. Of course the summer months were also vital to that but the change from when we left home to when we came back was always enough for my mum to start going on about how she never saw us anymore. We’re now in the middle of our sixth year... both sort of just turned seventeen, so when we get back home for the holidays, after the Yule Ball, of course, we’ll be able to do magic legally. And Apparate, and Disapparate and that’s just way too exciting.[/ul]
