About the Character- -
***Credit for this application goes to everyone who posted in my absence board. You're all fantastic.***
Name: Owen Matthew Conrad
Age: Sixteen
Gender: Male
Year: Fifth
Face Claim: Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Canon or Original? Original.
Facial Properties: Owen's face is completely disproportionate. His ears are way too big for his face, his eyes are small and deep set into his face, and his eyebrows are bushy. His lips are huge, and sometimes when he’s looking down, a double chin appears. When he doesn’t shave, he looks like a homeless person. His nose is big, probably big enough to get in the way when he’s kissing a girl. But, the great thing about Owen’s face? It works. His ears and lips may be too big, and his cheekbones may be bony, but all put together, he’s absolutely adorable. His eyes are a beautiful, brown color, and his teeth are white from years of brushing his teeth four times a day. Overall, if pieces of Owen’s face were to be put on other people’s body, they probably wouldn’t be too appealing. But all thrown together on one face, he looks like a baby angel. Well, that’s what his mom says.
Physique: Owen’s body, in short, is pretty cute. Coming in at 5’11”, Owen is tall and lanky, with small legs and big feet. His hands are big, his forearms are big, and his biceps are considerably chiseled from working around the house all the time. Owen’s stomach is flat, as is his chest, and both are devoid of hair. He enjoys that. His shoulders are small and pretty thin, and his butt is there, but not overdone. He’s just…cute. Owen’s favorite part about his body would be his hip lines. One time, Odette told him that hip lines are one of the most attractive parts on a boy, and Owen had been admiring his since then. He loves to wear nothing but jeans when he’s at home, and laugh at his sisters when they point it out. Owen’s pleased with his body, and he has no complaints.
Wand Type: 12 inches, Willow, Unicorn hair.
Wand Expertise: Simple Spells.
Patronus: It would have to be a duck. It's so Owen, it's uncanny. An awkward animal with no real identified contribution to the world, except reproduction. Yet, most people seem to find these animals cute and occasionally cuddly, which also fits pretty well. Owen's not really sure on why his patronus is a duck, but like everything else, he just laughs and goes with it.
Boggart: Standing in a room full of girls with nothing but his Spiderman underwear on. It definitely would kill him if it really happened. Just because Owen is comfortable in his own skin, doesn't mean he's okay with waltzing around in nothing but his skivvies' near the opposite sex.
Personality: There are two traits in each paragraph, and they’re bolded.
First and foremost, Owen is a wierdo, but he really doesn't care. He can be socially awkward if he really wants to be. Staring at people with no social boundary is his trademark. He also loves to use big words and awkward sentence phrasing. Unlike some, however, Owen can turn it on and off. If he's with his friends, he might occasionally stand just a little too close or call them “old chap”, just to mess with them, but with a girl? He's all polite and knows how far away to stand. It's all about who he's talking to. He's obsessed with Muggles and everything that they do and say. There are pieces of his personality, some interests, and even some values that may seem out of the ordinary to a "normal" person. But it's okay, he likes it that way. He loves people. Watching people, talking to people, even just looking at people. Just human interaction in general really interests him. Owen loves to sit in the courtyard and just listen to people carry on conversations. He's not much of and eavesdropper, but on occasion, he loves to just walk around and hear tidbits of other people's lives. It just fascinates him how many people are in the world, and how different each person is. No person is the same, which means, in Owen's eyes, he has to talk to everyone at least once to really get a feel for what the world is like.
He likes to stick close to his house and year when it comes to friends. Owen is by no means a shy boy, but his comfort zone are his peers that are the same age and house as him. He doesn’t dislike the other houses by any means, he has friends in all of them, but he just knows that the people who will understand him the best are the people that are just like him. His family is really important to him. His father left when he was seven, so even though Owen was the youngest, he felt it was his duty to take care of his family to the best of his ability. His father leaving still kills him daily, whether he says it or not, but every time it bothers him, he just thinks of his family, and how well they’ve done without his father. Each one of his sisters taught him so much about life, each one of his brothers gave him great advice about everything, and his mother is the best mother in the world. He is grateful for his family every day, and constantly sends each of them a letter telling them just that. Owen just loves the thought of going home and knowing that someone will be there.
Owen wants to become a professor at Hogwarts more than anything in the world. There’s something about the school to Owen, not necessarily a second home, but just something about it, that makes it irresistible to him. Every time Owen goes home for a holiday, he just can’t wait to go back. There are so many unexplored territories that he hasn’t seen, so many lessons he hasn’t learned, so many connections with students that he hasn’t made. Owen wants to get as much out of Hogwarts as he can, and he hopes to work there as soon as he can. It’s all about interaction though, too. Owen loves being taught things by others, and he loves teaching other people things. What better way to do that than to teach? Organization and Education are a must for Owen. Anyone who throws their education away for things like drinking and drugs is an idiot. In Owen’s eyes, there’s nothing more special than getting an education and having a successful career later in life. He also needs to be constantly organized. His backpack has to always be clean, his bed always made, his papers in chronological order. He’s not OCD, he just likes things to be neat.Owen excels at the subjects he loves, which include Astronomy, Arithmancy, and Transfiguration. He loves to get high marks, and studying is a must for him. Sometimes, studying for exams and finals gets in the way of his social life, but it doesn't really bother him. He's not at Hogwarts to party and make friends. He's there to become a decent human being and make a lot of money later in life. And he loves it that way.
Piano, Piano, Piano. Owen’s not a singer. He doesn’t play guitar, or drums, or any other hip, new instrument. Owen and his entire family are old fashioned, and he likes it that way. He’s been playing since he was two, and he even enjoys composing every once in a while. His father taught him everything he knows about playing the piano, and when his father left, his mother took over teaching. Owen’s never stopped playing the piano, and he doesn’t ever intend to. To him, music is all about expressing something that others don’t see in him. He’s not really a private person, but there are things about him that he doesn’t always share. To him, playing the piano is the only way he can really tell a story or what he’s really feeling to his friends. Or his family, or even a girl. It means so much to him to be able to make heavenly sounds with just some random chords. And, of course, the opposite sex. Owen absolutely loves girls. They’re so different from him in every way, and they fascinate him. He gets along well with them, because he was raised by four of them. He was learning how to correctly hold hands when he was six, and he still hasn’t forgotten how to lightly brush hair away from a girls face when they’re laying together under the stars. He’s learned so much from his mother about how to be polite and respect women, and he uses what he learns as much as he can. He’s not a player, by any means, but sometimes Owen can treat a girl so well that they end up liking him, and he doesn’t mean to make them fall for him.

Dislikes:
- Liars. "Just be honest. It's not hard."
- Boys who disrespect women. "It's disgusting. Women should be treated like priceless artifacts, like they need to be cared for and worshiped. Not sold like a piece of meat."
- Charms. "It's a pointless subject."
- Failing at looking "cool". "Embarrassing."

- Forgetting to put on socks. "Ugh, that's just annoying. Besides, my feet stink if I don't wear socks."
- Being unable to fall asleep. "That's irritating. When it's time to go to bed, I shouldn't have to lay in bed and wait until my brain shuts down. It should be instantaneous."
- Judgmental people. "It's quite pathetic when someone wont talk to their housemate because, say for instance, they're a Muggle. Who cares? It doesn't really affect who the person is on the inside."
- Sneering. "It just makes people's faces look ugly and unapproachable."
- When his hair doesn't do what it's supposed to. "Arg! That's the worst. I just want it to lay flat, and what does it do? It sticks up everywhere! Stupid tufts of brown locks."
- People who look at him funny. "Just because I'm different than you does not allow you to look at me like I have a disease. It's all a matter of respect, really."
- Unmade beds. "It's not that difficult to just make your bed when you're not sleeping in it! And it makes the room look so much better!"
- Too much cologne. "Ugh, boys who try too much embarrass me. It's fine if they want to have a little bit, but when they have too much, it gives girls headaches."
- The word "normal". "What does it mean, anyway? What defines a person as normal? I just don't like it. People shouldn’t be defined by a word."
History: For this story, the most dramatic and interesting way to tell you is to really start at the end and work my way back, but Owen insists that I tell it in chronological order, like it's supposed to be told. The way it was written. Unfortunately, as I am merely the narrator in the novel of his life, I must oblige.O p h e l i a.
Ophelia Winifred was a witch. A good one, at that. She was at the top of her class, an incredible pianist, and head of four committees and clubs at Hogwarts. She was Hawaiian and beautiful, with long flowing brown hair and a body to die for. No piercings, no tattoos, no weird hairdo. She was every mother’s dream. She was going to be an Auror. Order of Merlin, Second Class. She could have even been the Minister of Magic if she really wanted to. Her parents were the proudest the world had ever seen. She was going to do great things. As a graduation present, Tucker and Lily Winifred sent their daughter to Austria for the summer, one last vacation before she began her Auror training. Through a weird turn of events, the family lost contact over a few weeks and Tucker and Lily began to get worried. They hadn’t heard from their perfect daughter in over a month. Finally, without warning, Ophelia sent a letter, telling them she would be home in a week, and they were to pick her up from the train station. The parents agreed, and a week later, hand in hand, Tucker and Lily were standing on the platform, awaiting the arrival of their daughter, worried but excited to hear about her travels. Steam momentarily blocked the view of the passengers getting off, but the Winifreds waited patiently for Ophelia. Finally, the steam parted, and Ophelia came running towards them at full speed, right into the arms of her father, laughing and smiling, kissing him on the cheek. Tucker smiled pleasantly, stroking his daughter’s hair. She pulled back to hug her mother, but something didn’t seem right. Other than the fact that her hair was chopped off, and her clothes were much too revealing for a seventeen year old. “Where’s all your luggage, love?” She replied that Orville was bringing it. Lily looked confused, and Tucker, as if taking the words right out of her head asked, “Who’s Orville?”
And like that, Tucker and Lily Winifred’s lives were changed.

Born an only child in Salzburg, Austria, Orville Conrad had a sucky childhood. His mother died in childbirth. She had Orville right down the road from the hospital, because she was forced to try and walk there while in labor. She never even made it to the parking lot. Orville was found three hours later, still covered in blood, his umbilical cord attached to his mother. His father, John, had died just a week later, in the war. Amanda, his mother, stopped eating, leaving Orville practically starving in her stomach. He was premature and sreaming when he was found. Dr. Franklin Thomas saw the woman splayed out on the side of the road, but by the time he’d gotten there, she’d been dead for at least two hours. Franklin cut the cord, taking the baby just down the road to the hospital, getting him urgent care and staying by his side the whole time. When a nurse asked what his name was, Franklin answered without a second thought, “Orville.” The police later identified him as Amanda’s boy, the woman who owned the stained glass window store downtown. Orville had no living relatives that the police knew of, so Orville was sent to live in the local orphanage. He grew up there, hating every minute of it, his only escape from the hell hole was the broken piano in the corner of the dining hall. Orville would spend hours there, learning as much as he could, and the minute he turned eighteen, Orville had left the orphanage, in search for a job. He found one at the local pub, playing piano nights and sleeping in his flat above it. One night, after everyone had gone, Orville was playing something he’d written, when he turned around to find the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen in his life, watching him. Orville looked at her, stunned by her beauty, unable to speak. When she spoke to him, her words flowed from her gorgeous mouth like milk and honey. ”Please, keep playing,” she asked.
Two months later, Orville Conrad was on his way to meet his new mother and father- in- law, his first daughter on the way, and nothing but Ophelia in his future.

Ondrea came first. Born when Ophelia was only seventeen, Ondrea was born right on time, perfect size, flowing brown hair and brown eyes, just like her mother. Orville loved his little girl with all his heart and he spent every waking minute he could with her. Since Orville had no work experience, Ophelia went to work in The Ministry like she was supposed to, but she was only a janitor. With a brand new baby and a Muggle husband, The Ministry didn’t see it fit for her to work in a higher position. Not once was she able to spend even a little time with baby Ondrea, and two years later, Odette had entered the picture. Ondrea and her new baby sister got along famously, and Orville spend every day teaching his girls as much as he could, cooking and cleaning the house while Ophelia worked. Orville didn’t feel bad for his wife; he got to spend all of his free time fixing things around the house and playing with his baby girls. Ophelia got more and more fed up with her working and Orville staying home, and as soon as baby Olivia was born, Ophelia put her foot down and told Orville it was his turn to get a job. They fought a lot right after Olivia was born, but soon after, Orville finally found work at a restaurant around the corner from their home in Oahu. He excelled in the food industry, and soon after, was promoted to manager. In celebration, Ophelia surprised him with another pregnancy. The family was finally settling in.
O l i v e r, O s c a r, O p u s.
Oliver was the first boy born into the Conrad family. He was a hit with his sisters, and Ophelia spent a good two years catching up with her girls, and raising Oliver while Orville continued to excel at his new job. Everything was working perfectly. Orville started to work later, as he now owned three restaurants in Oahu, and Ophelia was more than proud of her husband. Orville was upgraded over and over, getting a corner office at the headquarters and his own personal secretary. Ella Von Draten, Orville’s secretary, was welcomed into the family about the same time that Oscar was born. She loved to come over on Friday evenings and play with the kids, while Orville worked from home and Ophelia got some laundry done. Ella was wonderful with the children, and Ophelia loved the fact that she could trust Ella with her kids. It was wonderful to have an extra set of hands around the house, and Ella was more than willing to help out. She just liked spending time with them. Everything seemed to be getting better and better. Opus was born last into the family, and they couldn’t be happier. The Conrad family was up to six kids now, three boys and three girls. Just the way Ophelia and Orville wanted it. Ophelia had the operation to make sure no more children were born into the family, seeing as they loved even numbers, and Orville was promoted to CEO of the corporation that owned all the restaurants in Oahu. It just couldn’t get better.
O w e n.
That not making babies thing didn’t work too well. When Opus was about one, Ophelia pulled Orville away from his work after all the kids were in bed and Ella had gone home for the night. She told Orville that the operation hadn’t worked, and that she was pregnant again. Orville was shocked, and a little disappointed, but he vowed to love the next Conrad child as much as all the others. Sure enough, on December 5, 1961, Owen Matthew Conrad was born into the family, welcomed in just as much as the others. His sisters and brothers loved to play with him, and Orville and Ophelia took about the same amount of time with him. Orville worked later and later into the nights, and Ella was especially taken with Owen. He was just so cute, and a little weirder than te other children. Owen’s first word was “Fantastic”, while his brothers and sisters had been “momma” and “dada”. Owen loved baths and taking naps, while his siblings all rebelled. He was a different boy, but loved all the same. Orville and Ophelia both took turns teaching Owen how to play piano, and by four, Owen could play a couple of Beethoven pieces. He was a little piano prodigy. He was a sweet kid, and he loved spending his days playing in the ocean and experimenting with the beautiful instrument in his room. His childhood was incredible.

Owen's favorite part about living in Hawaii would have to be Illiana Rayne, his beautiful best friend that lived next door. They grew up together, and Ophelia and Orville practically adopted Illi and her sister, Isis, into the family. They were over all the time, eating dinner, surfing after sunrise, making smores when the stars came out. Illi and Owen became practically inseparable, and when Owen's dad and Illi's mom left their families, it drew them closer. Illi grew up from birth without a mother, and Ophelia took it into her own hands to take Illi shopping, teach her everything about boys, and give her a shoulder to cry on when she needed it. Owen and Asher, Illi's father, quickly got the same relationship after Orville left when Owen was five. Illi and Owen received their letters for Hogwarts at the same time, and their relationship flourished when Owen and Illi started school together. Illi's short term memory problem and spacey personality made it difficult for her to be alone, so Owen stuck by her side constantly, and Owen rarely, from then on, was seen without Illi, and vice versa. Around their third year, Owen began to mature and hit puberty. He began to see girls differently, and his voice got deeper. A lot of things about Owen changed, but not his affection for Illi. They're still best friends to this day, and Owen wouldn't want their friendship any other way.

Ophelia came home one night, all the children in bed, the house a little messier than usual. That was odd. Ella usually tidied up behind the kids. Ophelia shook it off, headed for her bedroom. Orville was at the office. Ophelia opened the door to her bedroom, flicking on the light, and she stood, stunned. Her husband, her partner in crime, her everything, was in bed, with Ella. His secretary, the woman who had done so much for their family. Ophelia screamed, waking everyone in the house up, throwing Ella onto the ground and shouting at Orville to get out of the house. A screaming match erupted, and by a bad turn of events, Owen ended up watching the whole thing. He just wanted a glass of water. And watching his parents break up at five years old is not good for a child. It took a toll on Owen. Anytime someone raised their voice, he’d get really upset. He still didn’t understand why daddy wasn’t living with them anymore. Where was Ella? Why was mommy crying so much? Ophelia stopped playing piano, and the loving noise of the Conrad house settled considerably. It took a toll on everyone, and Orville and Ophelia were divorced before the next year. Joint custody was awarded, so every other weekend, all the Conrad kids would go visit their father on the main Hawaii island. They didn’t understand what was different, except that Ella was to be called mommy now, and daddy and mommy weren’t in love anymore. It was weird for Owen to understand at such a young age, but he adjusted.
M o v i n g O n.
Things with the Conrad family progressed, and soon, all the Conrad children were attending Hogwarts, except for Owen. He wanted so badly to be with his siblings, but it just wasn’t going to happen. By the time Owen received his letter and was off to Hogwarts, the girls were all out of school and moved out. Only the boys were left. Oliver, Oscar, and Opus all looked after Owen at school, and Owen became well known because of all his siblings that had walked through those halls. Owen began to fall in love with Hogwarts then, and life started to even out again. Ophelia was heartbroken because of the divorce, but she was healing. By the time Owen turned sixteen, all of his siblings except for Opus, who’d just graduated, were married. The girls all had kids, as well, staying close to Ophelia on the island of Oahu. Owen occasionally spends time with his father and Ella, but Owen prefers his mother. He doesn’t know why, but Owen seems to like spending time more with his mother than he does his father. As far as right now, Owen is doing well in school, enjoying life, and being a typical teenage boy.
Well, not exactly. But close enough.
Sample Post: My favorite Kiki post.
Get on your knees if you wanna reach the top.
It would be an understatement to say that being part of The Trinity could be difficult. Knowing everything about everyone wasn't always easy. They had to eavesdrop on every conversation they came across, and spreading rumors took a while to learn how to do to perfection. They had to talk to the right people. They had to say the right things. They had to do everything right. The Trinity's composure could never once be broken. So, as Kiki Valentine sat on her bed, trying to pick out an outfit, it was easy to say that being part of The Trinity was not a walk in the park. So many different ways to go with this afternoon's outfit. She could do something cute, but risk ripping something, as she usually did when she played Quidditch with The Trinity and Isaac. She could do something sexy, seeing as she was going to be walking past a number of ridiculously gorgeous boys. Or, she could just go casual, but risk looking retarded next to Skye and Tori, who always looked fabulous without even freaking trying. Kiki didn't have that advantage. She took forever to decided what she was going to wear, how she was going to do her hair, and even what she was going to do with her make-up. It was a battle for her, daily, but she dealt with it. After about half an hour of choosing, Kiki had chosen a sexy white tank and gray skinny jeans, her black lace bra peeking out at the sides. Kiki inspected her smokey eyes in the mirror, throwing her hair messily up in a low, loose side ponytail. Kiki threw on her designer coach shoes, smiling at the finished product in the mirror. Skye and Tori were already gone, so Kiki grabbed her wand, stowing behind her ear like always and heading off for Professor Slughorn's office. She had to speak with him about an exam before they met Isaac at the Pitch. Mmm, Isaac. Just thinking his name made Kiki excited. He was so hot, and sweet, and hot, and gorgeous. Kiki loved that boy so much. He'd been there for all of them, even if he was an ass. It didn't bother her, though, because Isaac didn't dare be rude to The Trinity. He loved them all too much. Isaac's perfect face flooded Kiki's mind and she walked out of the common room. Damn, she was excited to see him.
Emerging into the hallways, Kiki looked around, getting multiple stares and a couple of whistles from her fellow Slytherin boys while she searched for her friends. The original plan was to meet Skye outside the common room and have her accompany Kiki to Slughorn's office, but as she searched the outside hallway for her brown haired best friend, Kiki realized she wasn't there. She was probably off fucking something that had a heartbeat. Kiki rolled her eyes, grinning. Ah, well. She loved the whore. Setting off in the direction of his office, Kiki smiled at a couple of passing Slytherin boys who were openly checking her out. Kiki smiled at them, continuing to walk in the middle of the hallway, blowing a kiss to a ridiculously handsome sixth year who had just walked past her. Damn, Hogwarts had some fine specimen. Stopping outside of Slughorn's office, Kiki looked down at her outfit, frowning. Yeah, there's no way Slughorn was going to let her leave his office without putting on an actual shirt. Whipping her wand out from behind her ear, Kiki summoned her black zip-up hoodie, throwing it on over her tank and zipping it up to just below her chest. Smiling at the finished product, Kiki knocked twice on the door and then let herself in. Looking about the room, Kiki spotted old Sluggy behind his desk, examining something green and oozing. Ew. Kiki made a face, but smiled when the professor looked up at her. "Hello, Professor!" she said brightly, taking a quick seat in front of his desk, leaning back in the chair and crossing her long legs. "Ah, Kiki, my dear, what brings you down here this fine afternoon? I'm not supposed to see you until tomorrow," Slughorn said, smiling and going back to what he was doing. Kiki returned the smile, leaning forward and placing her hands on her knee. "Well, sir, I was just wondering if you could pretty please tell me the answer to the extra credit question on the last exam? My best friend and I keep arguing about it, but I swear I'm right." Kiki smiled, the grin on her face showing exactly what she wanted, and nothing else. Slughorn answered, not even looking up from what he was doing. Good. That's what she needed. "Yes, of course, the answer is wolfsbane," he said, looking closer at the substance that was taking up half of his desk. Kiki smiled wickedly, her eyes glowing with satisfaction. Her smiled returned to normal when he looked back at her, her innocent grin taking up most of her face. "I knew I was right!" She smiled once more, getting up and blowing him a kiss. "Thanks, Professor," she said, leaving the room as quick as she could. Old git. That exam wasn't for another three days. Laughing to herself, Kiki took off her hoodie, murmuring the spell to send it back to her dorm.
Coming out of the classroom, Skye was just passing. Kiki smiled at her, not saying a word, just falling into step on her right. People were moving out of the way, which was usual for Kiki and Skye, but she had to admit, it never got old. Just as they were walking down a new hallway, some kid decided it was a good idea to whisper a little too loud. Kiki stopped dead in her tracks. Skye must have heard him, too, because they literally stopped at the same time. Turning at the same time, Kiki whirled around, glaring at the fat kid. Right after Skye asked him what he said, Kiki echoed with, "I'm sorry, I didn't quite hear you." Her acid words, combined with Skye's insult must have scared the kid, because he backed away hurriedly. Skye spoke to him again, and Kiki laughed in the boy's face, turning on her heel and walking away with Skye right next to her. Kiki glanced at Skye, a satisfied grin on her face. They were joined just seconds by Tori, falling into step on Skye's other side. Kiki smiled at her widely, turning her head back towards the front. They reached the Entrance Hall quickly, pulling out their wands and summoning their brooms. Kiki had to admit, their synchronization couldn't have been better. They took off, all at the same time, smiling at laughing as they headed for their home away from home, the Pitch. Kiki knew how much each of them absolutely loved Quidditch. Even Isaac. They were nearing the field now, and Kiki could make out a figure standing in the middle of the Pitch, his legs spread, broom in hand. Kiki smiled widely. Isaac. Damn, she loved that boy. Skye hit the ground first, whispering in his ear. Kiki hit the ground next, Tori right behind her. After Skye walked away, Kiki walked right up to Isaac, flashing her straight, white teeth and winking a smokey eye at him. He looked good today. Doing a little twirl for him, she asked, "What do you think? Quidditch appropriate?" She smiled devilishly at him, turning and walking in Skye's direction and shaking her ass, laughing at Skye's question. She laughed even harder when Skye took off, barely even on her broom. She loved that girl. "Ready to get your ass kicked, hoe?" Kiki shouted after her, giggling and jumping on her broom, taking off after her best friend. The minute she was in the air again, Kiki smiled, the wind whipping her hair behind her. Kiki spread her arms out, closing her eyes and beaming. She loved flying. They all did. Looking down at Tori and Isaac, she shouted, "Move it, kids! We have a game to win, Muffin cake!" Kiki laughed louder, shooting forward to catch up to Skye, who was ready and waiting, a big smile on her gorgeous face.
This was going to be fun.
