'l o n e l y still runs both ways, -- w/ Fiona Donnelly.

Kovu is attempting to enjoy a day at the beach to balance his depressing summer. Nothing like the sun, after all! But of course there is always a jerk in the picture. One of the men playing Frisbee decides to show off by being mean to Kovu, and Fiona jumps in to help. Feeling grateful and not wanting to go back to a friendless summer, Kovu tries to keep a conversation going. When Fiona asks him out for ice cream, Kovu is ecstatic! Alas, all good things must end. Kovu realizes he is late for returning home and gives a hectic goodbye, but only after he determines they are solid friends, of course.

Kovu finally gets a letter from his best friend! The two of them converse back and forth about their summers, all the while making plans for Rose to come over to Kovu's house for makeshift Quidditch practice. Kovu finds himself unable to form the correct words and wonders why he trips over himself trying to explain odd things to her.

Where It Ends -- w/ Kasey Korin.

Kovu is skipping through Diagon Alley when he runs across a very depressed Kasey Korin. Of course, him being himself, he had to go over and figure out what was going on. Or maybe it was mostly because of her dog that he even noticed. Either way, death is never a thing to make a person happy. Kovu tries to improve it by getting some ice cream with her and distracting her with inane chat. It works well enough, and soon they are good friends. There is always room for improvement, though, so Kovu really hopes he'll see her again! As it is he is late and has to abruptly run home.
