Kalb seemed to have guessed right, as it was now his turn to wait out the long silence. Anne seemed to be struggling with something, and desperately wanted to reach out to her. He wanted to let her now it was okay, even if he couldn’t fully understand her pain. He missed his friends, yeah, but he’d never cry over it. And yet surely, he was so certain, he’d nearly put Anne to tears…
He felt a small sense of happiness though, while watching her cope – not happy with her sadness, no, but the way he was responding to it. He only wanted to reach out, maybe just hold her hand once more and rub soothing circles across her palm. Or maybe, just hugging her, holding her. It seemed rather movie-scene-ish, but he recalled girls always flaunting over the guys willing to simply hold them. Nothing more, just to…protect them.
Kalib had a hard time accepting so many thoughts could run through his mind within the time span of what was sure to really on be a few minutes. It couldn’t have been that long when Anna finally decided to take it upon herself to break the warm silence between: “So, am I still in the hot seat or is it your turn to be interrogated?”
His face lifted in a small smile. Of course he’d always be willing to listen to more, but he figured if Anne had something on her mind that she wanted to ask him, he’d just as willing answer instead of listen. “Sure,” he replied calmly, watching her twiddling fingers. He wasn’t sure if watching her fidget was what finally broke him or not, but either way, the result was still that same.
Rather casually he shifted his weight and took hold of her hand, giving it a comforting squeeze. “It’s all right to hurt you know,” he whispered to her. He didn’t care if he got a response to that one, he just wanted to let her know it was alright.
OOC: It's okay! I can be patient when I want to be. And I'm very sorry about that, my comp is stupid that way too. I got so outraged that now, I always do things on a Word Document and copy & paste them over. Silly really, but I hate loosing hard work.

Anette gave Kalib a swift smile as she tightened her hold on his hand just slightly. "No, it's really not," she disagreed, not mad, just thoughtful, "I'm not a Gryffindor, Kalib. I'm not brave. That's why- I mean, it's just different for me. I can't let myself get wrapped up in my emotions, because if I let go, even for a second, I'm gone... I can't pull myself out... It's just easier for me to keep a smile on my face and buck up."
She glanced at Kalib again, a little worried now that she'd hurt his feelings... After all, she had kind of thrown his comforting remark aside, though that was definitely not her intent. Anette gave Kalib a smile, this one small and sweet, her eyes conveying how much his support meant to her.
"I'm sorry if I just acted like I didn't appreciate your support," She said softly, her warm voice smooth and gentle, "it's not that at all... I can't explain it, so I hope the fact that I'm an obsessively ignorant Hufflepuff doesn't throw you off too much." Anette bumped Kalib teasingly with her shoulder. "But enough about me and my problems. I do believe you agreed to have your turn in the hot seat."
Biting her lower lip and smiling in thought, Anette gazed up to the sky. "Well, here are your topic choices," She announced after a few seconds, "you can: A - talk about your family, B - talk about your goals, or C - talk about life right now. It's totally your choice, so this better be good. " Anette teased Kalib, bringing his hand, still wrapped around hers, to her mouth and giving it a soft kiss before letting it fall back to their sides...

“I can respect that,” he said simply, understanding her words. For him, it was embarrassingly low to be weak. If he couldn’t be strong, he felt like he was nothing at all. It too a lot to upset him, and when he was, often it resorted into a few fists tosses at whoever had caused him pain. Although, he was pretty sure he should leave that part out…Anne didn’t need to know about that just now…
After listening to his option of A, B, and C, he began rattling off almost at once:
“A: You already know about my mother and her insane compassion for teaching, good luck with her. Do you have Care of Magical Creatures?” he added as an afterthought, continuing on uninterrupted, “Anyways, personally I like my father a lot more, an Auror,” Kalib grinned. His dad’s job had always fascinated him. Working in the realm of Dark objects, Dark wizards and spells, it was all quite intriguing. It was the only class he’d managed an “O” in on his O.W.L.s, luckily he scrapped by with everything else. “My brother sort of a prat, we don’t get along too much. He a fifth year and thinks he knows everything. I don’t know if you’ve seen him around at all or not.
“B: I guess you could say my goal would be to become an Auror. Dad can’t exactly talk much about his job, I mean, its highly classified stuff. But what I’ve heard form him, it’s all very interesting. Of course, Mom doesn’t support that career path. Thinks I’m going to go out and kill myself. I’m not that stupid.” He shook his head, exasperated.
“And C…my life right now…hmm…” Kalib mulled over that one. Nothing was exactly “happening” right now. “Well, I met you, that has to count for something. I have to admit, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to corner a Hufflepuff so easily. Most of them run away when they see a robe of green.” Kalib gave a small, thoughtful smile. “But I guess you’re not the average Hufflepuff. No…no, I don’t think you are,” he decided firmly. Then, glancing at her sideways, he grinned “You’re my ‘obsessively ignorant Hufflepuff’…”
His gaze fell back to their hand, finger intertwined, staring at the place that her kiss still lingered. The hairs on the back of his hand seemed to stand upright from the pleasant surprise. Careful not to let his grin become too large and keeping his longing at bay, he muttered “Thanks for that.” He didn’t really care for a response, Kalib just wanted to let her know.

“I can respect that,”
Anette nodded in response, a miniscule grin threatening to escape the rising corners of her mouth. She didn't quite believe that showing pain was a weakness, but Anette just didn't have it in herself to do it. Slytherins... They were made of tougher stuff. Kalib was made of tougher stuff. Anette got the distinct feeling that it would take a lot to upset him, and that she could understand. Getting upset over the small stuff was definately not in her character; it was the larger things that got to her.
She listened intently as Kalib answered her first question. Nodding as he spoke, Anette smiled with him as Kalib talked about his father. An Auror... Kalib would be good at that, She observed silently, he has that determination about him... I wouldn't think anyone could stop him doing what he wants to do. To his inquiry about having met his younger brother before, Anette simply shook her head no and let him continue.
Anette couldn't help but allow that creeping grin to be set loose as she heard about his goal to become an Auror like his father. It really had seemed like something Kalib would just be naturaly talented doing... I so called that...
At his last response, Anette couldn't help herself; she burst out laughing. "No," She agreed, still chuckling, "I'm obviously not your typical Hufflepuff... I'm completely mental! And about- how did you say it? Something like, 'running away from a robe of green'? Well, as I said, I'm not brave," Anette said teasingly, "but I've never seen much for running away from a challenge... Plus, I'd rather be your obsessively ignorant Hufflepuff than just about anything." At this last thought, Anette positively beamed, biting her lower lip once again to try and contain another wide smile.
To Kalib's thanks, she said nothing, just letting a moment of silence ensue as she held his hand and smiled...

Kalib laughed along with her, glad to hear she didn’t find his tease anything but. It amazed him how she took to him and his ways. She didn’t even bothering questioning him about his ambitions to become an Auror. Wouldn’t that be something…
But before he could allow his much to stray anything further, he quickly went about talking once more. “Well, let’s face it. Slytherin has a bad rap. If anything goes wrong without cause, people automatically think it was one of us. And, I mean, I’ll admit we kind of deserve it…most of the time it is.”
This was true. He knew very well why he’d been put into his House. He fit all major requirements: arrogant, cocky, cunning, witty… Some could take it as a slam against their pride, but Kalib liked Slytherin. He could relate to people there. They were the outcast of the Houses. It was only by a miracle he’d managed to talk to anyone outside his own House. A glanced at Annette. A miracle…
OOC: Gagh, icky post. Short.
OOC (again): WHOA! I only just realized I was in Bella's account. MY BAD. Sorry!!!

Anette's soft brown eyes twinkled wickedly as she replied without hesitation, "Bad rap? I think it's a bit more than that. You guys can be terrifying. Well, maybe not so much the guys. Not to insult your manly pride or anything, but guys are guys, no matter what house they're in. It's the Slytherin girls that really freak me out... They're absolutely terrifying!" She gave a little shutter to emphasize the point. Anette hadn't really spilled her heart out about the Slytherin girls to Kalib, but she saw no point in it. Sure, it wasn't just the fact that any one of them could beat her to a pulp in a duel, magical or not that freaked her out. It probably wasn't even that most Slytherins were known for dabbling in things that were less than, shall we say, responsible? Anette couldn't help herself; She was jealous. She wasn't the only one with eyes. Kalib was hot, and any Slytherin girl would have the opportunity to get close to him easier than a girl of another House... In her mind, Anette gave a long sigh. She'd been over this road before, and it would do no good to try to find something new where there was nothing to begin with. She had to get her mind off of this school full of girls... It was time for a random question... Which, thankfully, was something Anette was good at. She loved, every once in a while, just saying the first thing that came to mind, and laughing at people's reactions. "So, would you rather be a bank robber or a professional opera singer? Think carefully Kalib, because I will want a quality answer..." Anette winked at Kalib. This would be interesting... ooc: Eh, it was fine. ;] And don't worry, I figured it all out the moment I saw Isabella's name on the... the thingy. Whatever's it's called on the main page next to the category and what topic, lol.

OOC: Well, know that I'm in the right account...heh...
Kalib couldn’t help laughing at her, or rather, we her he supposed. “What, you want to go check my criminal record or something? Because let me tell you, anything on that thing I don’t want people knowing, they aren’t going to find there.” He grinned wickedly, of course playing, but, well…she didn’t have to know that.
“I’d have to say though, I’d go for the bank robber. You see,” he said fluently, preparing himself for a seriously taken answer, “If I were a bank robber per say, I would be able to learn how criminals think, learn there ways. I could get a hold of their world, because of course I wouldn’t get caught.
“So then, I get in with all the right people, working undercover naturally, and hey, if I get perks along the way, what does it matter? I can familiarize myself with the enemy and therefore be accepted by them. And then BAM. I can thwart them all and turn ‘em in. Plus…”
Kalib gave something of a shrug as he spoke, “I’m not too good at singing.”

ooc: Can we just pretend they're sitting down on the ground again? I'm really lazy and i don't want to go through all that, lol...
----
Anette winked playfully at her new beau. "You chose the right answer," She announced with a flirtatious grin. "and I bet you're thinking, 'Wait; how can there be a right answer? It was an opinion, right?' But oh, dear Kalib, there is always a right answer to be had."
Still holding his hand gently in her own, Anette lifted it up and placed it around her opposite shoulder. Hands still intertwined, this now made it so that Kalib's arm was around her shoulders, and her face much, much closer to his chest. Anette continued in a serious tone, with just a slight pause as she adjusted her position, resting her head on his chest. "If you had chosen the opera singer, that would have told me that you were an uptight rule-follower who has a passion for the color purple and red wine. Thankfully you chose the bank robber, which tells me you're a flirtatious gardener who enjoys elephants and raunchy romance novels. Not together, of course."
It took exactly five and a half seconds for Anette to burst out laughing. Just imagining the look on Kalib's face was enough to send her cracking up. Anette had never been much for fits of giggling; she had always thought giggling was too... too immature, too much like a young child hearing a naughty word... Every once in a while a giggle would escape her, but her giggling was more like a soft, breathy laugh than a giggle. And this was no giggle; when Anette laughed it was throaty and full, her musical voice still smooth. And laugh she did.
Breaking off after just a few seconds (after all, who can really laugh for an extended period of time alone without looking like a complete fool?), Anette tilted her head to look up at Kalib. "You do realize the last however-many minutes I've been talking was total b.s.?" She grinned. Most people would have gotten that right off the bat, but she always liked to make sure. Every once in a while you got the strange person who just didn't understand, even intelligent people... It was always safer to just to make sure.

“So I’m a flirtatious gardener who likes elephants and what else again?” Kalib wasn’t exactly sure what his face was giving away, although he figured it was something between confusion, laughter, and an almost-half grin. He wasn’t exactly sure. Either way, whatever it was, Annette thought it was the funniest thing. More then happy to keep her close, he glanced down at her shaking form. Silly, silly girl… he thought with a smile as she looked up. “Anne,” he said mockingly, “if I had thought for one minute you had been serious with me, I might have just reported you to a mental ward.”
By now he figured if she wasn’t bothered by his touch, Kalib had the right not to worry about it either. With the causality of trained boyfriend, he slipped his arm underneath hers and hugged her from the back around her middle (with both arms by now) and placed her rather effortlessly between his legs. “You’re rather silly to think I’d ever want distance between us,” he muttered into her ear quietly. He loved the way her hair tickled his lips as he spoke.
“So,” he said clearer, his chin now rested upon her right shoulder, “I was thinking about this earlier, and I’m sort of curious. Forgive me if it’s too forward and by all means slap me if you feel the need, but after all, I am a curious young lad. Not much you can do about that, sorry,” he added with a chuckle. “But you seem uncertainly certain about having a boyfriend. Again, forgive me, but it’s just a tad bit obvious you’ve hadn’t much experience in being a girlfriend, so I was wondering – backing to by curiosity – if I had been graced with being your first boyfriend or not?” He knew girls were always touchy on the subject, and perhaps it was a bad habit of his, but he loved watching girls flounder about for answers to his peculiar questions.
“So,” he continued smoothly, “You’ve really got two options here: you can tell me, or as I stated at the beginning, you can try and turn around to hit me.” He tightened his grip around her stomach just a little bit, “Good luck with that one.” Kalib laughed quietly again, waiting patiently to see if she’d try or not.
OOC: Yay! Actually had time to get a good post out there! :-] Sorry for my other short, icky ones. >.< Oh, and a friend's coming over tomorrow night for a sleepover (the one that loves this RP. lol) so I'll post when I can!

"If I had been serious," Anette said, grinning wickedly up at Kalib, "I'd appriciate it if you would place me in a mental ward. I mean, people can't just be spouting that kind of rubish around at random... Even if it's funny rubish... Oh, and it was elephants and raunchy romance novels. You can't forget about the raunchy romance novels. Don't try and avoid it, you know you have some sappy smut under your bed."
As Kalib cleverly moved her to between his legs, the color rose to Anette's cheeks. The blush wasn't because she was embaressed; far from it, actually. She was going out with him, after all. The faint pink tint in her cheeks was more because she liked the feeling... The feeling of someone else wanting to be with her, to want her. It was nice... Plus she loved the security of being so close to Kalib. Heck, she loved being close to him in general.
“So, I was thinking about this earlier, and I’m sort of curious. Forgive me if it’s too forward and by all means slap me if you feel the need, but after all, I am a curious young lad. Not much you can do about that, sorry, but you seem uncertainly certain about having a boyfriend. Again, forgive me, but it’s just a tad bit obvious you’ve hadn’t much experience in being a girlfriend, so I was wondering – backing to by curiosity – if I had been graced with being your first boyfriend or not?"
Anette didn't answer him right away... It was so hard for her not to focus on the present, not when the present was going so well, and especially not when he had his arms so deliciously wrappeda round her... But Kalib had asked her a direct question, and one Anette planned on answering fully. As memories came to her, Anette seemed rather indifferent. Not sad, nor happy, but just kind of thoughtful.
"I suppose yes... You would be my first real boyfriend. There was a guy back near where I went to school, but nothing ever happened with that." Anette broke out of her blank expression to grin. "If you haven't noticed already, I'm a bit of a flirt... I like flirting. But that's what most everything was back at school; just flirting. No real relationships, ever. I used to joke that I was all bark and no bite."
Since her lower half was being held hostage by Kalib's arms (not that Anette was complaining in the slightest), she looked over her shoulder at him, smiling and giving him a look. A look that appeared to be a mix between sweet and devilish... Quite a combo. "I'm glad it's you though," Anette leaned back and gave Kalib a quick kiss on the cheek, a faint blush still showing on her cheeks, "You make things interesting, in the best possible way."

“I’m honored,” Kalib replied smoothly, unable to help his grin from ceasing to grow. “Although I find it hard to believe that no one ever asked you out before. Flirt or not, you’re quite a catch. Don’t deny it either,” he added quickly before she could interrupt, “I’d asked around about you. I have my connections you see. A lot of the people I cornered seemed willingly enough to tell me you were single but that they’d thought about asking you out. Perhaps they found you intimidating, I don’t really know. I didn’t hang around long enough to ask.” He spoke of it casually until he realized what exactly he was telling her.
“That is not to say I’m going to become some obsessive stalker though, so you don’t have to worry about that. I guess all my earlier research was just to make sure if I was rejected that it’d be for something I’d done, not something someone else had done. Or I guess, that you would simply say no because there was some one else.” It seemed odd to be trying to put his thoughts into words. It was all very confusing. It didn’t make much sense in his head so aloud it couldn’t sound much better.
“I’m glad you said yes though,” Kalib added as an after thought, “I’m not sure what I would have done with myself if you’d said no. I certainly wouldn’t be here, that’s for sure.” He smiled thoughtfully, still thinking of her lingering kiss. Kalib placed his lips to the top of her head, breathing in her scent – whatever shampoo she used, he liked it. Involuntarily he’d closed his eyes, still thinking. Just her presence seemed to rattle his brains. “Yes, I’m glad you said yes.” His tone was rather decisive as he muttered it against her tickling hair. He didn’t like to think of what measures he would have had to go through to get her to say yes. It was just a lot easier this way. “Very glad indeed.”

Feeling Kalib behind her, arms still wrapped around her waist and the gentle touch of his lips on her hair... Well, needless to say, Anette Baker was happy. Happier than she'd been in a long time. This move had brought a lot of problems for her and her family, but she supposed good things could definitely come from bad things, especially if this had any say in that matter.
At the news of other guys, guys here, thinking about asking her out, Anette was truthfully shocked. Guys hadn't ignored her back home obviously, but she had never considered herself to be that desirable... To be a good flirt, Anette had to at least accept herself, because if one played the game like she did, one really couldn't be fixated on self-hatred. No one wants to flirt with someone who hates themself. However, she had always been modest, and that modesty was certainly not fake.
And about guys back home... Well, again, they hadn't ignored her... She just hadn't been interested in them. They were fun to flirt with, but no one had ever caught her eye like Kalib had. He had been so tempting, so interesting... And still was. She'd never met another guy like him. "I'm very glad I said yes too," Anette smiled to herself, talking to Kalib but looking at the ground while his lips rested on her hair, "and I'm even more glad you asked me. There's no one else like you, Kalib."
Sighing and leaning back, resting herself on him, Anette looked up at the sky. She could hear his heart beat...

“I guess it proves that taking a wild risk can pay off in the long run,” he mumbled, still very unfocused. It was funny to think that one single soul could have that much influence over him. He really couldn’t place what was so different about her, it eluded him to no end. Perhaps it was because this was new to her, maybe he liked being her first more then he’d thought? Or maybe it was because she was being her, not trying to impress him with silly scams. It could be as simple as the fact that she was just a fun person to be around. Kalib wasn’t really sure.
He watched the grounds before them, wondering for the first time in ages what time it was. He didn’t really seem to care, just a passing thought. Since there were no scheduled classes for the day he could very well not say goodbye until it was time for lights out. He certainly wouldn’t protest.
Kalib let out a comfortable sigh, watching Anne’s hair flutter from his created breeze. With a little smile he tucked his head against her shoulder again, keeping her close to his frame. He was being a gentlemen because he knew it’s what all girls wanted, no matter how hard it was to keep his lips to himself. Still, he couldn’t help but mumble against her skin:
“I’m lucky to have gotten to you first I suppose. I won’t lie to you in saying I’m not possessive. I hope you know you’ve clearly been claimed under my name, although I’m not sure how I’m going to let others know that… I bet Zane will let the world know though,” he smirked, “Friend of mine,” Kalib added. “Very social guy. However, completely beside the point…” Kalib chuckled lightly. “I’ll have to point him out to you sometime though, undoubtedly he’ll try and steal you…and I can’t have that, oh no…” Kalib was being nice and didn’t feel at all guilty in the slightest when he slipped just a little bit, his soft words that had been drifting across her neck turning into sweet kisses. “I don’t think you’d like him that much though, you see, he doesn’t like Hufflepuffs too much…” He smiled, now lightly brushing her cheek. “I of course have nothing against them…” Kalib finally reined in his selfish boy hormones and settled with hugging her just a little closer.

"Yay for wild risks," Anette sighed with a smile, enjoying the feeling of Kalib so close to her. Her eyes closed as she breathed... Just breathed. It was strange to think they had just met a few hours previously... Kalib seemed to her as natural to be with than anyone she'd ever met. Though it almost embarrassed Anette to think it, it felt to her like she'd known him for a lot longer; years, perhaps.
As he talked, his lips so close to her, Anette tried to pay attention. It was much more difficult than it seemed, paying attention to anything while his lips seemed to caress her while simply speaking... "I don't mind you being possessive," She managed to gasp, adding with a smile, "I mean, it's better than you whoring me off, right? Plus, it's pretty cute... Being all, territorial? Makes us ladies feel appreciated."
When Kalib's lips moved to her neck, Anette bit her lower lip to keep herself from giggling or some other sort of immature nonsense... She quite enjoyed him doing that... Quite enjoyed it. "This 'Zane' sounds like an interesting guy," She said with a wide smile, "but if he's about to be all prejudiced against Hufflepuffs, I might have to dislike him. I'm glad you don't have an issue with us though." Anette's wide smile grew as she looked up at Kalib, "I have no issue with Slytherins, but again, this is probably why I'm in Hufflepuff, isn't it? I don't really have issues with people in general." Anette chuckled, more to herself than anything...

Kalib knew he should stop, but the overwhelming urge to continually lay soft kisses along her skin seemed nearly impossible to contain. He had to give himself so credit, he was doing okay for having just met the girl. Still, he hated when he had to be a “good little boy” sometimes. But, then again, it’s what gave him the edge over other buys – he may have the same silly male desires but he could suppress them when he needed to. It was a good habit nonetheless. No need to scare away a girl because he’d kissed her too deeply. He chuckled lightly.
“Dully noted,” he grinned, “‘Girls love over protective guys.’ Got it.” Kalib sighed deeply but happy, finding his thought process slipping away from him again. One day he would be able to hold a girl without wanting to pin her to the ground. It was a work in progress.
“Hufflepuff’s are a little bit over hopeless push-overs,” he admitted with a smirk, “Not all” he added, “But generally. No offense, but I couldn’t believe you’d been placed in Hufflepuff when you to smoothly returned my flirts. You seemed a bit too…strong willed to be placed there. But I guess one doesn’t have to be the exact ‘type’ of person, no always. There are exceptions…” He stared across the top of her head, thinking a little bit. He’d been doing that a lot lately, thinking. “You’re a very fine exceptions.” He placed his lips back against her head, watching as a few first years scuttled past them around the lake. One girls seemed to blush beyond belief, making him grin. “Look at all that competition you’ve got,” he laughed.
